Maybe no love today but with these mintages my grandson will be happy in 50+ years as they start to be really sought after. 😊 As coin collectors we must buy what we like and use some common sense in our purchases, look at the old Morgan and Peace dollars. Our great grand parents thought of them as $1 ~ we are now paying big money for these old collectable coins, we need to step away from the flip for money and stay in the collector mind set. great video
I have a subscription for three and they're supposed to come today. I actually forgot I had a subscription and canceled too late. I'll probably keep them anyway this year
Yep. The only things I've bought from the US Mint are just some of the reverse proof Eagles and those reverse proof Morgan/Peace from last year. I only buy stuff I plan to hang on to and really like. The prices are insane for what nearly all of this stuff is, especially when you don't even know if they can get it to you in top condition.
I get it that the grading adds value to the coin and everyone wants to get their moneys' worth. For me, I'm more interested in collecting coins and enjoying the hobby. I personally think the containers of graded coins (particularly NGC) are ugly and detract from that enjoyment. No coin has to be perfect, for me, to enjoy collecting it. In fact, lower grade and even cull coins are fun to collect because you can "handle" them!
I'm interested in collecting coins, enjoying the hobby, and making $$. If I want to handle my gold, I grab some bullion, stack it on the coffee table and stare at it. But, I leave the investment-grade 24k High Relief Proof Deep Cameo 70 stuff in the vault.
Good Morning SSS, the mint killed the reverse proofs by coming out w/ them again in 2024 before the 2023 could get any momentum on the secondary market imo-I’m a buyer of these but it’s definitely a long long term hodl for me 🤣 thanks again for the daily metals juice you are the pro imho sir 👌
Hi S3, I have one set on subscription. So far, I have one of each modern M&P Dollar minted. It is an excellent collection, just like my ASE collection, in which I only miss one coin. Where the heck is the 2024 proof Libertad?
I bought the reverse proof pair last year 2023. This seems like a rather unnatural finish for these classic coins. I will not be adding any more moving forward. I am predominantly a type collector so the two from '23 will represent the type just fine for me.
I loved getting one last year and was excited until they let it be known it would be a regular release. If I remember, wasn't this the first price increase as well?
Good Morning! No sir. Not interested due to mintage and cost. I just received notification my gold 230th just shipped. That’s probably it for the year.
I also cancelled my subscriptions to U S Mint products. Honestly, I have found all I want on eBay a year or two, or even three, after a coin set's initial issue for deeply discounted prices, often in eBay auctions.
I can't help but think the timing of the GFH auction and V. Gibson's retirement are so closely aligned, that there might just be a connection. 🤔 Probably has a deal with the Mint to get a percentage.
Dropped my subs from 3 to 2 and already sold the one for $ 300 so mine will cost me $135 I'm ok with that probably what the price should be anyway..great video
Just got mine, I am a reverse proof sucker, and they are beautiful! FYI the box the coins are in are a nicer flip open box with some sort of faux leather, so there is that. And these will be for someone in my family that I have yet to meet 👶🚼
Last year's Morgan and Peace reverse strikes were the most underrated coins of the year. I'm surprised it didn't take off as I like this strike better than the Uncirculated and Proof strikes I received from them as they are unique. I'm still subscribed for 1 of all of the Morgan and Peace series until they stop making them.
I was until the price increase. Not supporting their non sense anymore. I was already overpaying and with the increase and instant loss of equity I just can't do it anymore
@@SonOfASilverStacker yea I really thought they would have done a lot better than this. The two coin did the Morgan and peace dollars dirty! They are such a coveted coin and that was a slap in the face.
Like everybody else in the comment section, I canceled all my subscriptions this year.. Over 200k mintage.. And $215 dollars for two coins that are less than an ounce.. Unless the mint is grading these for me. Ms70 and then shipping them to my house. No way I'm touching these.. I would all but believe these will stay on the mints website. Till next time we get one of those we're cleaning out the vault sales... I'm done with overpriced commemoratives...
Good Morning Mr.Stacker! The coins are beautiful but I think the mintages are just too high...100,000 mintage limit and product limit that would assure the public no more to be added would create more interest maybe. It's a head scratcher that's for sure! Great Show As Usual my Friend! ✌️
I bought the Morgan/Peace dollar reverse proof pair last year and honestly in hand they are meh. I’m not in the habit of throwing my money down the toilet so I’m passing this year. American Innovation series. I’m fully on board.
The mint can’t figure out that people are initially excited about a product when it first comes out and they think that will be the end of the production. Once they start producing the same thing every year you’re not going to get the same interest or sales you got the first year. Seems simple but they haven’t figured it out.
Yea but then it turns it into a “series” and makes people want to collect that instead. I wish those were one and done too. Makes it more exciting to own it.
If you wanted a proof of each coin is it better to purchase the standard proof of the reverse proof? It seems like the reverse proof are selling for more on eBay.
I will not be purchasing these. Like many I have cancelled all my subscription besides the ASE proof and burnished. U.S Mint is charging way to much for less. No more
I would like a reverse proof Peace Dollar but at what price . The Morgan many like even adore but I ain't feeling it. I ran to my LCS & rummaged through the bullion bargain bin with painted & cull ASE . this time I struck a bargain as he wanted $34 A piece. Swapped some Asahi rounds plus $4 for each to help support a keep 👍 commerce with the local stacker 🏦BANK . So 20 ASE found a new home . The paint I hear is pretty easy to remove . The GOV will not care . For $34 you get the TYPE 1 #1 with a bang . I strive to find them at $2 over Spot . The hunt continues as I need 300 more ASE to hit my present goal before hitting the ATH LMAO as the criminal suppression will end with the rigging of the market go buy bye . Drink up Triple S 1+1+1= 3 sheets in the wind
Cancelled my subscription for this last year and without me knowing, it reactivated again this year and charged me $645 for 3 sets! Called US mint to cancel (again). Waiting for my money back in my acct.
Good Morning SSS Contractor grade It’s hard for me to process, but The US Mint is not for the Numismatics Community, they are trying to make a profit, imagine how much greater our country would be if each department had this in mind NO MORGAN & PEACE FOR ME, Keep Stackin Bro
@SonOfASilverStacker well I finally was able to take my silver flowing hair out and really inspect it. It has two dings in it. One tiny one on the reverse and one tiny one on the obverse. I'm so done with the mints lack of quality control. These medals that were dinged should never have been sent to the customer. Ridiculous!
This whole series a lesson in poor program management driven by profit. Great looking coins, but over produced and over priced. Now if they would have left everything alone and did a 1 year release, 2021 business, 2023 proof and RP, this series would have been a home run.
Exorbitant price, cheap packaging, no clam shell, not even 1oz of silver and a lottery on quality! I am with the majority on this one, cancelled my subscriptions a while ago. 🍻
Got mine today and they stepped up the packaging. nice clamshell

I will easily be sitting this one out. I wish the prices were more reasonable (for U.S. Mint-silver in general) for those opting in.
Got mine
This is my favorite coin channel. Glad I found it.

The Silver Flowing Hair was the only coin on my 2024 U.S. Mint purchase list.
It is not a coin but a medal.
Not a coin. It should have been, but it wasn't.

That would have been the definition of elegant!!!
The mint needs to lower the mintages

I can't believe how bad they flopped. I sold one of my sets that I had certified pf 70 NGC for 500 when they first came out.

I wonder how big the collector market and by extension the stacking market in the US is. Given the size of the mintages for these sets.
