Not really, it's an unfair comparison anyway. The only way to explore Grindelwald's character is through his interaction with Dumbledore which Depp simply didn't have. Mads simply got far more to work with than Johnny did. Also, Depp's character design is superior to and far more memorable than Mikkelsen's
