    Fantastic video. You are an excellent teacher so I always learn so much and come away very inspired. Thanks for taking the time to demo this technique. The results are amazing and there are so many possibilities with the crackly tissue.

    I used to use the "plucking" method for tearing the tissue before, back with mulberry paper was all the rage. Glad to be reminded of that great technique.

    Hi Leandra! I realize the tutorial is quite a few years old, but I really enjoy your tutorials and in fact just finished another! You are a terrific instructor!
    I so WISH there was a Paper Artsy company here in the US. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and time!!

      Thank you for your kind words! The 'crackly' tissue is no longer available from us as the supplier ceased supply at short notice. The most similar I've sourced is Tissuestock by CanvasCorp, a USA brand. That item was available as a pack of 20 (or maybe 30 sheets) in white, kraft and cream color as 12x12" . HTH Leandra

    In the States, crackly tissue is, I believe, what we call deli paper. It comes in boxes of 500 10x12 sheets. It has a waxy finish on both sides, and is used in delicatessens to wrap sandwiches. If it isn't the same thing, then it's very similar, I use it for making collage paper. It's great to work with.

    Hi bcap62, we have the same waxed lunch wrap stuff in New Zealand, but they don't sell it here in the UK. The Crackly is different, its deffo not waxy.The waxed stuff also would not allow the water to sink in and to be plucked, as its waterproof. I guess the closest I can say is its like a thick tissue paper,but less porous. But try your stuff and LMK how you get on! I've never sen anything like it before, but i was demoing it at a show in the UK, and some German ladies recognised it! LOL

    Hello, Thank you for the info. I use gel medium to apply the paper. I did find some tissue I had with a pattern on it, however I don't remember where I purchased it. Years ago. So I just ordered it from Paper Artsy. I do demo and sell products @ shows here in the states so I need enough, to get me thru a weekend or 2. Thanks for your reply, Beverly

    Hi Beverly - I have used parchment paper and it behaved very much like the paper in the video except that I could not use the "plucking" technique. I bought my parchment paper from a restaurant supply store, if that matters. It doesn't feel waxy but there must be some coating that prevents it from tearing when wet. Other than that it works great - I use parchment and tissue paper both on my projects.
    Have you tried it? If so, how did you get on?
    Thanks, Annie

    Fab tutorial. One question though: I have tried stamping on to Crackly in versafine but it just won't dry. Have blasted it with a heat gun, left it to air dry but still when I touch it ink comes off. Is there a right & wrong side to stamp on?

  • @bcap62
    @bcap62 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi. Well, if it's not deli paper, then it IS deffo, as you say. lol. too bad because I just placed an order with you guys and did not order the crackly. to place another order and pay for shipping again is not cost affective. I'll wait until I need other stuff. Thanks for the feedback.

    Crackly paper looks and sounds like what we artist use in the USA called Deli paper at a few sheets for a penny.

    • @LittleWillie1000
      @LittleWillie1000 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      to me it sounds like the tissue sometimes found in packaging products.

    I was simply curious if "this Artist" had a chance to use both products , and came to any conclusion yet? Since I too am a U.S. Artist and would love to do this project and a few cents would be great but I certainly do not want to ruin a piece because I followed bad information. But if it's proven to be the same, I'm all for it. Right?

    • @MrsPaperArtsy
      @MrsPaperArtsy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mary, our source simply stopped supply. We has no warning or we would have stocked up big time!
      You need to look for wet strength tissue paper. Canvas Corp in the USA made the most similar product, but I fear they are no longer trading. Good luck!
