Hey Davz. I produced edm back in the day and JUST made the switch to making this beautiful genre. Any cool synth advice you'd give someone that could get a bit more technical in nature? PS I got into reading the manga Berserk because of you. So cool.
I'd say try using random effects that don't normally go together and discover creative ways to make them work, such as reverbs before distortion as an example, or switch up the tools you use every so often to keep things fresh. I can't really get into specifics but lately I've been messing with VCV Rack a whole lot. Hardware goes a long way for some people as well, although I don't have a lot of hardware personally speaking. Hope that helps, best of luck!
