Toph described the entire "Bitter Work" episode as "I threw some rocks at the Avatar, he got all whiny, and Sokka fell in a hole". And she described the finale of the original series as "It was hot, I was on a blimp, and I think a giant turtle showed up." So her description of Lin's father Kanto as just "Nice guy, but it didn't really work out" could very easily have been the most epic romance story in the world of Avatar. As a side note, since Lin and Su have different fathers, a common name for Su's father is "Johto", for reasons.
See i like the explanation that it is political. Toph is a fold hero as well as a major and public figure. She is a actually war hero and a symbol of earthkingdom progress and ingenuity. Attacking her would cause Kuvira to loose support. Could Kuvira beat old toph, yes.
13:33 - 14:05 this was laterally the best actual fight scene in the season in how both Kuvira and Su will use Metal Bending to attack each other and especially Kuvira using her armor to make a sword and whip to completely destroy her opponent was amazing. episdoe 10-13 is my favorite episodes in season 4 since this season had no fight scenes but lots of talks or diplomacy in it so when the fights happen they are awesome and very creative.
The way you sometimes treat this like Dragon Balls or some shit where the main character has no repercussions after they encounter a powerful opponent from the previous battle. Sometimes MCs need to be humbled and lose and deal with shit so they can have a sort of arc or in simple terms, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. It would not always be, fighting and fighting and fighting without consequences.
Like Toph said sometimes you have to leave it to the kids y’all saw Ghazan and Zuko. They are pushing 90 and have all been retired. Toph ran away not Kuvira The creators even said Prime Toph vs Kuvira is a great fight.
The title just says Everything you need to know. Get ready for a Boulder of an episode! Also, don't discount Bolin. Dude is on point !!! Just you wait to see what he can handle in the big city !
I won't repeat what others have already said - what I will say is that while I don't think they're accurately assessing your views on Korra v Kuvira, I also don't think they're responding to nothing. Take into account that communication is more than the words you say, it's also in how you say them and in what context, and the tone and context of how you've discussed Korra v Kuvira these past few episodes have implied (with or without intention) that you think Korra is weak/shouldn't have lost and/or that you're underselling Kuvira as an opponent, whether that's the truth of how you feel or not. Watch them back with that lense in mind and I think you'd see what I mean.
10:07 I think Bataar Sr. has or is experiencing a stress, nervousness, worry, anxiety, fear, and/or phobia of heights or something else related to heights or with jumping, sliding, gliding or hovering over tall distances or gaps between two locations, even with something tied to him or on him and to aid in carrying him from the other side like a thick and strong metal wire of Lin, even if with someone with him, close to him by his side, or carrying him like Lin, and/or even if with the knowledge and assurance that someone would catch him on the side like Bolin, that's why he's behaving with stress, nervousness, fear, worry and/or anxiety on that scene. Maybe he's just also not trusting Lin and Bolin enough, or is having a difficulty, challenge, issue or problem with trusting them or with anyone else in those kind or type of settings, situations, circumstances and/or contexts, or in other similar ones. And sometimes to most of the time, depending on the person, these things such as stress and especially distress, nervousness, fear, phobia, worry, anxiety, and/or trust difficulties, challenges, issues or problems aren't just easy to get over with, deal with, confront with, manage, control, or surpass quickly, especially if they're already deep within one's own personal and individual psychology, and if they're existing for quite some time up to a long time. We don't know and are not sure if any of these I mentioned above are true with Bataar Sr.'s character, but these or any of these things I mentioned above are just few to some of the possible, probable, reasonable, likely and/or plausible contributing factors, causes or reasons on maybe why he's behaving that way on that scene.
Hey guys, great reaction as always! Hope you're not letting these negative comments get to you, people are just sensitive cause Korra gets a lot of hate from certain parts of the fandom :) And yes, Su was clean in that fight!
Of course Su is gonna do better against Kuvira than Korra.. like, cmon now.. yall always attacking Korra for losing to Kuvira, do yall even know how PTSD work? Do yall seriously think Korra gonna be 100% healed after getting the poison out?
Like she lost so much weight, just recently took out the poison leftovers....she isn't gonna be 100% at all ,it could take months she just began the healing
A week of not going to the gym is already gon make u a bit weaker. korra hasnt fought or trained properly for years. She had to regain her skills from scratch she couldnt even walk.
It’s not that deep they literally already acknowledged that korra lost due to everything u just said I get why u said this but it’s not that serious they know she was weakened😂
seeing your korra reaction was so refreshing at first because you felt like one of the few reactors who gave the show a fair chance without the weight of comparing it to its predecessor but i think it’s for the best that your review of this series is coming to an end maybe you’re feeling korra fatigue lol
these comment sections always getting on to reactors for saying Korra lost the fight, is so funny, because guess what? SHE LOST to Kuvira, she knows it and acknowledged it, why can't you? All he said was Su is doing way better vs Kuvira than Korra did. A FACT. PTSD, healing, blah blah whatever else you want to say are all true but they aren't going to change the outcome. Kuvira isn't going to get DQed, she still wins.
Literally just been reading and replying to all that😂 I love korra both the show and the character, but hyping up Su and stating a fact (that she did better than korra against kuvira which is sick) ended up triggering a fanbase who are now ignoring all the praise we gave her through 4 seasons

good catch
these names make me think of Pokemon
Toph is such a legend that even Kuvira didn´t had balls to mess with her.
Definitely didn't want the smoke from the legend.
You could tell Kuvira was taken aback by her statement
See i like the explanation that it is political. Toph is a fold hero as well as a major and public figure. She is a actually war hero and a symbol of earthkingdom progress and ingenuity. Attacking her would cause Kuvira to loose support.
Could Kuvira beat old toph, yes.
Stop overrating toph
@@humanoidfrog4645 she isnt overrated she is the best earth/metal bending we have seen throughout both series.
The metalbending in this episode is so CRISP

14:29- i was absolutely expecting them to pull back and reveal Toph was pointing the wrong way.
the sting when the person who invented metal bending shames you , hehehehe
The choreography in the fight between Su and Kuvira was so good. This show in general has some amazing fight scenes.

We Korra fans also just tend to have our defenses up around this season due to the sheer number of bad faith criticisms it was hit with when it aired
Korra fans are so damn annoying
