Low center chassis is a definite upgrade When you’re bashing you will get high centered less and on the track you’ll notice better cornering also it is much easier to work on
The GTR shocks have springs of varying stiffness made by Traxxsas. There is a color coding system depending upon if you want use the car for on road use (stiffer) or offroad (softer) there are five distinct level of spring stiffness.
The GTR benefit is that it's able to adjust shock tensions without using spacers and it's a thicker bore than both the ultra shocks(standard traxxsas shocks) and the bigbore which is essentially a more beefed up ultra shocks which still doesn't have the ability for in shock adjustment. The GTR is both beefier than the bigbore and has in shock adjustment(something the bigbore doesn't have)
Had prolines and there over rated. Gtrs are the best with gtr blue springs and 40wt losi in front and 60wt rear with the variable rate kit and holes drilled.
I have them but never installed. Once I got the VG racing springs I was satisfied with the performance with stock pistons. Also the variable kit is designed for revo GTR, you should drill them for more flow for slash GTR.
I'm in that exact same situation. I have the gtr shocks with the vg springs and have the vdk off to the side waiting with the holes drilled out to 1/16. Just trying to do some research n find out if it's worth rebuilding my shocks already to install them. It's a nice setup as is right now but I'm always looking to improve
Question! I have a regular Slash 4x4 (not LCG) Will these shocks fit my regular Slash 4x4 or do I need to get Big Bore. Also are you still liking them and what spring/oil combo are you running?
To be honest, I don’t really know if the various shock adjustments actually make a difference or if it’s just a placebo effect, meaning you’ve spent a good amount of money on the shocks so you just think it’s better now🤷🏻♂️
You have way too much binding going on in the arms and rods and entire suspension caked on dust in the hinge pins and eyelets. Clean all that up and straighten everything out really good and your suspension will smooth right out.
Great vid you can see its performing better at every change you make 😎
+How To DIY Rc thanks! Yeah this is about as good as I can get them without an oil or spring change.
a tip : watch series at flixzone. Been using them for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
@Yahir Maximilian Yup, been using Flixzone} for since november myself :)
Good test and overview. Just got the GTR. Looking forward trying them out. Thanks for the vid.
Preload is not a mechanism to stiffen the springs it is only to change ride height. Thicker oil and higher rate springs and you would be golden.
Awesome demo. I'm curious if you saw a difference between the low cg chassis vs stock chassis as well?

what oil where you running?
if I can advise you, buy a dusty motors cover for Slash electronics and shock absorbers. Its great things, I Have one
How did you find the audio for ur slash I'm trying to find the full kit but I can't anywhere
Had prolines and there over rated.

Are the sway bars custome?
Have you tried the variable valve kit yet for those shocks?
I have them but never installed. Once I got the VG racing springs I was satisfied with the performance with stock pistons. Also the variable kit is designed for revo GTR, you should drill them for more flow for slash GTR.

I think you should have got the proline prospec shocks
T2 NATE I have them and I’m having so many problems with the rear man, way to soft even with the harder springs they offer
Gtr are better than PL I have a pl shock but I don't like the spring
They make stiffer springs (blue) rate for those GTR shocks.
They are to stiff
if you find any stiffer springs let me know , Im about to go for proline shocks
Issac Gutierrez VG racing makes GTR springs that are much stiffer than Traxxas. They are awesome. I made a follow up video about that.
Ok great I will check that video out thank you, I really wanted the GTR to work great and had the same issue as you

Your shocks should fir low cg, since only the chassis is different and the front/rear setups are the same as stock.
Add 60 weight oil they'll be awesome
I had to run stiffer Springs with mine with some 70 wait shock oil. almost perfect then.
Do the gtr shocks only fit on the low centre of gravity chassis or on the stock chassis to?

Springs homie rc bro they are too soft
Yeah their "GTR" shocks and "Big Bore" are complete rip offs. I've gotten better results just tuning up the ultra shocks the car came with.
What did you do to get better results?
I made one of tin sets make a “J” lol
Cringe
