    The only thing that would blow the competition away would be having drawers in the bottom box. Being this late to the game, that should’ve been a priority.

      That's why I use the Ridgid system. They are the only ones (that I know of) that thought of the drawers on the bottom.

    I just bought the Husky after thorough research. For myself and my use, the Husky is more than enough for the money. I'm not a builder or contractor, but I have completely renovated several houses and I do home improvements to my relatively new home almost every weekend. I got sick and tired of trying to find tools in my storage bins. I put together my home maintenence kit several years ago and there are too many tools for a single portable toolbox. The Husky works perfect with a couple of the add on units. My tools are now organized and easily accessible.
    If I were a contractor and used it daily to make a living, I would definitely buy the Klien or Milwaukee. I liken it to Harbor Frieght vs name brand.

    Firstly I love the colour. So many cases are dark inside & you can't see tools clearly, especially like the Tote bag. A nice way to keep tools organised & visible in the bag.

    I’m gonna need to see if we can get these because this could be a GAME CHANGER for me. Having all my RJ45 spooled up on the bottom, my cable terminations all organized in the middle, an area for my serious drills and concrete bits and then a place for my normal everyday bag would be PERFECT when we have big installs. All in one, all on wheels. Yes please. I could probably strap my ladder to it while I’m at it.

    I've been a commercial electrician for 11 years. And no The Klein mod box does not blow away the competition. Toughbuilt stack tech makes more sense. Mod box has a place for you to put your conduit to pull your wire on the inside of the tote.... You have to remove every tool to pull wire..... Stack tech has the wire holder on the outside of the toolbox. Mod box organizing bins are far too shallow for someone who organizes more than just screws. There's a total of like eight components...n

    I think embedding some magnets could help keep the main box lid up. Put some on the lid and the handle rail, and you will probably get a good hold. Pretty big oversight by them not to use a magnetic system to hold it up.

    i got the bottom box at lowes for 100 but i dont like the way the middle drawer looses space on the klein but i like the wheels better. looking to put 2 packout drawer units on it, make some kind of adapter, they about the same dimensions.

    I might need to reconsider my Packout expansion. This has so many features that I have about the Packout and stoped me from buying the bigger boxes. The side rail being one of them. I can buy, print that same rail and install it in my shop to hold these things easy vs. the stupid Milwaukee huge wall plate solution that just us a waste of space. Can’t imagine why o would by one of those plates to attach a plastic battery holder ot paper towel holder when I literally have screws. So dumb.
    Would like thoughts on the lack of the metal corners bars on Packout since I don’t have one. These don’t have those. Strong enough?
    Also really liking the Klein mod box tools over the uninovative Milwaukee stuff put in oversize cases for wat to much money.

    Been looking at the Packout stuff, then noticed this at Lowe’s the other day. Didn’t even know Klein was making their own modular organization/toolbox stuff. The stuff they’re supposed to release in 2024 makes me want to wait and see before I decide. I like the Milwaukee stuff 100%. Just a high initial cost to get started with everything I need. Klein might be the same though (I thought it was slightly cheaper than the packout stuff when I looked at it the other day though I could be wrong).

  • @matthewwain9958
    @matthewwain9958 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Took a risk on this of this rather than Milwaukee's version, even though Milwaukee was cheaper. I know drawers are coming which will be nice. They all carry less than I think they should though lol (Any brand). The Klein is definitely build really well. I think the bottom box lid is meant to stay up, but mine doesn't either which is annoying, as there is space for it. The boxes don't click in as nicely as I thought they should, maybe they will wear in. I wish the parts bins etc would mount higher in the box and more flush to the walls. I'm interested in the cooler (although bizarrely there is no top seal?). Definitely interested in getting the expensive electricians back pack, although I think the focus on electrician stuff might be their downfall here. A large backpack without the inserts would have been nice. (Note: A friend has a TON of the Milwaukee boxes, and he uses the attachment plates so they don't fly around in his trailer. I don't know if Klein do something similar.

    Oh, man. I love these boxes. I have a three-piece Ridgid OG set plus the 12-bin organizer that I use for my sideline photography. I have kaizen foam inserts to hold my cameras and lenses in the two larger boxes and all my remote camera gear, hats, jacket, laptop, batteries, gaffe tape, etc get shoved into the top box(es). I can split it and use them as a desk and chair to edit and submit photos at halftime and I've left it out in a downpour and they were waterproof. That said, I'd gladly give them up for this. Orange is my favorite color. Plus I love the accessories, especially the magnetic plate and the cord wrap, which would have come in handy several times. I also bought the Ridgid Gen 2 bottom box b/c the wheels/handle come off, so it's easier to put in the back of my car. But this knocks it out of the park for me. If I ever need to start over, this is how I'll do it. :)

    Will lowering the handle on the large box allow the lid to stay open?

  • @xaytana
    @xaytana หลายเดือนก่อน

    I wish the boxes were a bit deeper. Those outer accessory rails should be able to hold two of those small parts bins side by side, whereas the current design looks like it holds one wide accessory, such as the parts bins and magnetic holder and one narrow accessory, such as the cable hooks or the cup holder. Personally, I think the fronts of the medium and large boxes could also use accessory rails; the large box having two rails could've fixed the cable hook issue by itself, or if it had a third rail between the two latches. The large box's handle could've been pushed back a bit, evident by the fact the lid doesn't stay open by itself, but this could've also pushed the wheels back a bit further; one of my complaints, especially in the stair demo, is that you're dragging the back of the box along a surface when the wheels should be climbing, offsetting the wheels back farther would alleviate this, and if you make a system that drags itself against stairs at least provide a, preferably replaceable, strip of PTFE or something for protection and ease of sliding. Also, does the large box have rubber feet in the front, this is something that a lot of rolling boxes miss; another improvement in this area would be levelling feet, for when you don't have a raw concrete pad the box is goin on, something with an easy adjustable system so that the box doesn't tip over on unlevel or soft ground.
    I also think it's time for a follow-up video now that Klein offers drawer boxes. I also want to see how the mini boxes, like what the KNECT or flip socket sets come in, store internally on these boxes as that's apparently a feature, though they also store on the rails and somehow stack on the other boxes. I feel like Klein could really expand on what they offer, the boxes themselves feel a bit bare and don't have too many internal accessories; I for one would like a deeper box with an internal full-width tray like what toolboxes used to come with, rather than having a slim box on top of a medium box, just give me one box with tiered storage instead of multiple products, I'd also like a full-sized parts organizer, the kind with the removable individual bins, though making this into a removable drawer would also be very nice.
    I probably wouldn't invest for another generation or two, get the teething issues such as the large box's door problem and the cable hook situation out of the way, expand the ecosystem more, etc. I also kinda wish one of these companies would figure out a system where an individual box can slide out of the stack, rather than stacking things on top of lids and using a quick release clamp, like shelves or cubbies that use the back handle as its structural system; less fatigue on lids and their hinges, less time unstacking things to get to a particular box, this is why I like drawer boxes more but nobody is providing cubby style drawers that are also fully removable.

    The one thing that Ridgid rolling boxes have on all the other one's I've tried, is the release button being on the handle that you're holding. I hate having to reach back to adjust the handle. Ridgid dropped the ball with accessories and other auxiliary stacking options, but they nailed it with the handle. EDIT: The original had the good handle. The 2.0 has it in the back now. Lame.

    Matt, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this, but I currently have a Husky tool tote (kind of like the Klien tote, but bigger) that I use to keep my screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, measuring tape, etc in. It weighs about 50 lbs. I like it because I all of my common hand tools in one place that I can take with me "easily" when I need to do a project at someone's house of around my house. When I need to take power tools, those are kind of thrown loosely in my truck as needed. I can use the base tote for my power tools, but would any of these boxes (not the tote) work to keep screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, etc neatly organized in? I would love to be able to have this work with my routine as a weekend warrior.

    It's a nice storage solution but a pain in the arse to work with on site. Everything is a flip up box which means you have to wrestle with it or take a box or two off. If this was a drawer system then that would be different.
    This is why I don't like the sys containers. Sure they stack but try to get to a tool in the middle of a stack.

    I realize this video is a few months old now, but have you noticed that these are not selling all that well at Lowe's? In fact, they have been steadily dropping the prices like crazy and still not a lot of buyers.
    It appears that the market has been getting over saturated to say the least, and all of the late comers to the market are falling short of even biting at the dust coming off of Packout's wheels. The only ones that are picking up market share seem to be the lower priced brands, but even those aren't competing in the high end arena.
    Then again, FLEX isn't doing too well in either their boxes or tool sales. Hopefully those guys will get the hint and simply pull a Stop Sale on all of their products and go away quietly. It's not that I don't like their tools. Well, in all honestly, I haven't seen any stay on the jobsites longer than a few hours before they started smoking. But I just don't like the way the company lies during their fake infomercials, just like Bora making unfair, unrealistic or just plain old false ads.

      @@TheOutlawEffect I agree that ToughBuilt has a remarkable product. Will it knock the king off of the throne? I don't know, but I think it will be giving Milwaukee a run. But then again we both know that competition is always good for the consumer, and we also know that Milwaukee is not known for resting on their laurels.
      I will say that the instant stand that TB has in the teaser clip is something that I have been imagining for years now, even before PO was in my truck. I was thinking about something like that back in the early 2000's, when I had the original modular mobile box set made by Stanley.

      I agree. I hate the thumbnails that too many You Tuber are using. Shocked faces will get me to unsubscribed regardless if I like the content. Please resist the temptation to use goofy thumbnails just to get clicks or views. Your content is good. You don’t need clickbait.

      @@geecant All of "Outlaw's" thumbnail faces are as if he opened a curtain, and behind it is Andre the Giant banging the Seven Dwarf while cooking scrambled eggs.

      This looks like an additional channel that I wasn’t subscribed to. I thought I was subscribed to a channel named 731 woodworking. Maybe they are somehow linked. I checked out the 731 channel and it appears unfortunately to be using the same clickbaity thumbnails. He has the right to use any thumbnails he likes. I just don’t like them and I will likely unsubscribe if continues.

      @@geecant Same here, I sub to their 731 Woodworks channel and it recommended this to me I assume... Though it was the same 731 channel with the childish thumbnail. I did hear in a previous video that there was a secondary channel starting up... Guess it came to me... In the form of a pucker up and push thumbnail. These thumbnails are created this was to attract kids (under 18), I'm not telling anyone how to run their business but.... Whatever.

    Imagine being a grown Man and taking multiple pictures for a thumbnail and choosing that one. For tools no less.
