    I did my first differential oil change on the car ever at 186,000 miles and everything looked good. Subaru builds a solid car from a mechanical standpoint.

    I have been warned on differential service (of a different vehicle) to check to see if you can remove the fill plug PRIOR to draining the fluid.
    It would make sense to add the overflow plug to that routine.

      Being that it's a 2014, and should have an FB25B. I'd say it's oil consumption. It's a pretty well known issue on those engines. How often do you check your oil level?

      @@MrSubaru1387 I would like to thank you very much for making this video. The dealer I have been going to has said do not worry about this and I know way better then that. I am a older lady but grew up working on various cars. I will wait for warm weather and get myself some car ramps like to have here and follow just what you showed. I took notes so I should be fine. Its a bit scary though when you are alone and have no one around when you are doing things like this. I was going to have a guy help but he proved to be simply trying to make mistakes to get paid twice and he was not careful with the coil pigtail and he knew it was broke and thought he could slide by but Father God was looking out for me and the check engine light came on. I made sure I got the part he never kept his word about anything and I will never allow him to touch my cars again. Lesson learned. Again I am very grateful for all of your teachings. Peace and blessings to you and your family always. Sherry-Elizabeth

    I have had a Subaru forester 1997 (automatic) from new, that has been great for all the years with very little to do other than annual services. However, recently I have had a lot of vibration & shuddering on the wheels when making tight turns (left or right). It is difficult to identify which wheels the noise or shudder comes from and I don't feel much through the steering wheel. I have had all difs replace that has reduced the frequency but not always. We hope it isn't the automatic gear box but has anyone got any ideas what to do next.

    I bought a 2013 subaru outback limited3.6 with 114000 and its over 14,000km and i noticed sometimes when its cold. It has a whine when slowing down. Could this be due to the diff and transmission service not being done? If not any suggestions on what i should be looked at. Dealership just replaced spark plugs with pcv. Harmonic balancer needs replacing due to its wobbling idk if that could cause the whine but it came out of no where

      hey I had this same exact problem. what I've noticed with my car is that is was much easier to pull out the dipstick when the car is cooled off. also try spinning/wiggling the stick around to try and break it free before trying to pull it out. if it's really stuck in place try to crack it open just enough for you to squeeze a little bit of gear oil underneath the yellow lid with a small eye dropper and let it sit there for a little bit then try again

    Hi, thank you for providing huge useful info about Subie.
    Can I ask a simple question? My car is 2011 Forester, and there is a tire skidding sound when doing a U-turn or sharp turn from rear almost in every surface in both direction; it is not a joint or axle problem-related sound, I checked it before.
    In my opinion, there are two possible scenarios 1) only rear left tire is new, and others are used things due to unexpected tier broken, 2) time to replace differential fluid?... hearing that sound in every morning is pretty stressful. Could you give me a solution?

    • @MrSubaru1387
      @MrSubaru1387  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mismatched tires on a Subaru are a big no-no. All four tires have to match and have the same thread depth. I'd imagine your issue stems from that used tire.

    • @kangsanlee3304
      @kangsanlee3304 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeap... thanks! should replace tires before winter time.
      By the way, what is your favorite tire brand and model? Here, midwest, winter is sometimes crazy, but most of my area is 'totally' plain, just covered with bunch of white power and power.
      I think the original equipment, Yokohama Geolander, is pretty good, but want to try other brands.
