Very nice. For all those who want to try this but aren’t sure. I say go for it. I’ve been knitting since I was 9 years old. I’ve found that only the basics are necessary. The willingness to go for it and to have confidence in yourself make up a huge part of it. Don’t let it cause you anxiety. Relax and have fun. The worst thing that could happen is you have to rip it. Even if you do make a mistake, you’ve learned and you’re that much closer to making your dream project! One stitch at a time and you’ll get there!
5 years late, so hope you are well. I just wanted to thank you for writing such a sweet message to those of us who are a little nervous but decided to go for it and get somewhere with it! I managed to knit my teenage daughter some gloves that she can use now, but this scarf will be ready by.. next years winter as I’m so slow hehe!
I've been practicing knitting for about 8 months and finally wanted to tackle a baby blanket. And I'm using this but with 96 stitches for it. Your instructions are so easy to follow and so is your free pattern! Thank you so much!
this is weirdly the best explanation of cabling i've seen, it's so concise and it's not even meant to really teach you how to cable- i've been learning how to knit and trying to learn to cable so this video is amazing because i can also get your pattern to make cute heart cables! thank you ❤️
I love this pattern!! I started it a couple days ago for a scarf and have made significant progress without any visible mistakes, and it’s my first cable pattern! I’m sure there are simpler cable patterns out there, but the clear instructions in the pattern and video make this feel like baby’s first cable, thanks for this wonderful project, Studio Knit!
I love your enthusiasm and wonderfully clear instructions. Even as a non knitter I feel as though I could tackle this or the cable knit scarf, with the cable on both sides - definitely a bonus!
Studio Knit I wish I could send you a picture on here, I did it! I made my first cable stitch and a bonus it's a heart cable stitch. Thank you so much for this video! The pattern was so easy to follow after you explained it in the video. Man...best teacher ever. 🤗😍 I love how it turned out.
I've just started knitting and I'm in love with your videos - I've been binge watching when the kids are in bed lol. This is gorgeous but I think I'll practice a little more before I'm confident enough
Michelle Erskine I do the same thing!!! I am hoping to eventually get good enough to make detailed sweaters for my kids and husband! I wish you lots of luck 😄
Hi Michelle, don't be afraid to jump in and start knitting cables. If you break down the pattern by individual stitches it won['t be so intimidating, and before you know it you are a cable champion.
Your videos are great and your instructions are very clear and understandable for beginners like me. I will definitely need more practice before attempting these cable patterns but have already bookmarked them! Thanks for sharing!
I'm making this for my school eisteddfod this year. Hope I get noticed by the judges! Thank you so much Kristen for making fabulous and easy patterns and tutorials for us all. You are the Knitting Queen of TH-cam. XD
I’m working on a top down sweater and was wondering if you had instructions for a top down or inverted cable heart? l’m trying to work your charted design upside down, but it becomes very confusing and the results aren’t the same. It’s a beautiful heart design! My favorite so far( and I’ve done a lot of searching). Thank you😊
I fell in love with this pattern! I love a challenge 🙋 All I need is that little needle and I'll be starting on my own creation!!! so excited. Thanks for sharing your talent, you're a sweetheart.🤗
Dall'Italia GRAZIE TANTISSIMO x questo tutorial! Io non capisco 1 parola in Inglese,ma con le immagini e le scritte sul video ho capito benissimo! Grazie davvero tanto!!!
Thanks so much for answering my question! I never heard of a lifeline. I’m sure it saves a lot of time because I had almost finished the first heart, when it happened. Again, thank you so much.
ILL BE MAKING THIS ONCE I GET MY TWO MATERIALS I NEED: tapestry needle, cable needle Its so hard to follow through since i never diyed with yarn before but i will keep trying :) ty for this amazing tutorial tho! you just earned a new subscriber 💗
Thank you so much for the cable hearts. I'm going to use this pattern in place of the cables I use for a poncho . Serendipity! The St count is the same 😍
I love this! I’m a beginner knitter and I feel like maybe it’s all possible now! My daughter asked for a sweater to have this stitch for pockets! Thank you so much Have you ever done the horseshoe cable stitch?
I’d love to get the written pattern but it’s asking me for all credit card details, billing address etc which I don’t wish to give as I don’t think I’m paying for the written pattern? Can you advise. All your videos are wonderful and I’d love to follow you.
I really like how this looks. I am going to try to make an infinity scarf with this pattern. I think that it would look really pretty. Then if I get real ambitious I am going to try it on a blanket. Wish me luck, Mind you it looks really easy. Thanks for that. Have a great day.
I fell in love with this pattern as soon as I saw it. I bought 7 different colors of yarn and plan to mix and match the colors to make a crib blanket using the cable heart squares. My question is about what the best way might be to attach the individual squares. Any thoughts, ideas or advice?
Thank you so much! I am having a lot of fun with this pattern. It is much simpler than one might think by looking at the pattern. I am using a crochet hook as a cable needle and before knitting the slipped stiches, I just place them back on my knitting needles; doing this has been working great.
I have a question, the pattern shows rows 1 to 12, after row 2nd it says "cable heart repeat rows" so, if I finished row 12, then, do I need to jump to row 3 and kept going from #12 rows to row #3?
You not the one because I used to knitting from my teenage but I have to figure it out by myself how to close the heart.then do not get hard on yourself
Go slow. The video doesn’t show the whole process, so you have to carefully follow the pattern. The color coding of the cable sections is super helpful. Don’t give up. It’s a beautiful knit.
Gorgeous pattern and clearly explained - thanks! You don't mention it on the video but do you first knit 6 stitches before the pattern starts or is it 5 stitches! As well, your sample shows a garter edge that is not explained in the video. Could you please outline the lovely edge? Thanks!
I am thinking of putting one on a pussyhat. here the pussyhat is such a big hit i have been knitting like crazy and i tried lots of patterns to make them all different. even fair isle i tried will load up a pic when is done.
I want to make a sweater with this design, am I suppose to do the garter stitch all over the side?? And I’m thinking to do rib stitch in the bottom./sorry, bad english not my first language;)/
I find that doing the top down pattern looks better on row 23 if just doing C4F and C4B vs the L and R versions. Otherwise the pearls from the listed pattern makes a blip in the top corners of the newly starting heart. What's weird is some of the images of this pattern of finished work show the blip, some do not. I suggest that people try it both ways and see the difference. It might be minor but to me it looks like the difference in doing something correctly vs incorporating a mistake into the pattern.
Hi you made this Heart Cable Scalf in 70" for how tall is the person wearing them.If I make one for a 5 ft tall person will 60" be long enough? Thanks.
I bought the pattern for this and can’t wait to make it. However, do you have any tips on how to make the hearts a different color if I wanted to do a grey scarf but pink hearts? I’ve looked at many intarsia cable videos but I haven’t seen how to possibly start this one!
Kristen will ¥ou please feature How to knit a flower for pillow? I bought the book you recommended but the flower was knit with petal individually I don't know how to put together to make a flower,Thanks you
this is a great pattern, I love the cable hearts. I have a problem though. The sides of my scarf are folding over the front. I'm using the correct size needles for the yarn, what is the solution?
Lisa Harbison try blocking it or cast on 26 stitches and follow all of the rules except knit the first and last stitch on every row.Or if your already deep into or finish with the project try crochet on the sides.
You can get the written knitting instructions here 💖 www.studioknitsf.com/knit-cable-heart/

I have a studio by white lk150 knitting machine. Can I do the cable heart pattern on my knitting machine?
I wonder if I could make this into a headband, and use smaller needles? So pretty!

Gonna try to get the full pattern and try working from that, because the video only explains the cables without handling the usual knits & purls...
Just in time for valentines!! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Miss Angeline! 💖
I am thinking of putting one on a pussyhat. here the pussyhat is such a big hit i have been knitting like crazy and i tried lots of patterns to make them all different. even fair isle i tried will load up a pic when is done.
I am following the pattern and the pattern says CL3F. I don’t see that in your tutorial. Did you mean to write CR3F instead ??
Mam is this pattern suitable for gents cardigans? It is really very nice ❤️❤️😍
Thanks
Love this stitch! Free Printable Pattern....where?
Thank you 💓💓
Can I do this pattern with one color for just the heart and another color for the background?
Very nice🧶☺️, what yarn did you use ?
So helpful! Could you please do a tutorial for beginners for an oversized sweater with this pattern? 😊
