I have most of these on my TBR already, read The Blade Itself in February, and honestly I’ve been watching you for years and had the Winnowing Flame on my TBR for ages because of it. Maybe it’s time I give it a shot…
I'll finally have to buy Godkiller after this recommendation. Also, thank goodness for VaatiVidya's lore videos. I could listen to a whole audiobook narrated by that guy.
Dark Souls is basically a love letter to Miura (Berserk, which I'm currently reading for the 1st time.) Though Vaati is the most well-known Lore Master, I really love smaller TH-camrs like the brilliant Tarnished Archaeologist, Max Derrat, The Last Protagonist, Smoughtown, Zullie etc. I'm slowly collecting the Lore books & art books for FromSoft games, & looking forward to reading the Elden Ring art & lore books. I really need to try Joe Abercrombie's books, as I'm pretty sure I'll love them, but I'm soooooo behind on my tbr yikes lol XD
For the Gods among us trope I would suggest Three Parts Dead and its series. There is a war against gods that happened in the past. However the setting is more urban.
Ahhh thank you so much for doing this video while sick! We really appreciate the effort and the recommendations! I still need to read Malazan! But man, it reeeally scares me!
Great recommendations! Thanks for doing this. The Winnowing Flame and The First Law trilogies are on my tbr. I’m a little intimidated by the Malazan series but hope to give it a go someday. I really enjoyed Shadow of the Gods and Hunger of the Gods.
I'm reading book of the new sun specifically dor this reason
I started The First Law trilogy recently, I'm enjoying it a lot! I'm no expert, but The Blade Itself seems to be a really strong debut novel.
Ok it's 1am and I will pick up one of your recommendations rn, because who needs sleep right
Haha, exactly 💤 ❎

Ohhh, if you pick it up, I hope you like it! It’s seriously one of the most bizarre but epic fantasy series I’ve ever read :D

Agreed! I’m very jealous of great voices 😂
I believe he does narrate.

Haha, the never ending TBR 😂 I’ll have to check out those other channels!
Thank you for these recommendations lowly tarnished. I also love vaati videos on all the lore.
They’re unbelievable. I can’t imagine how long it must take to compile all that information and sift through it!
@@fullmetaanalysis HONESTLY though! The lore finders are absolute legends. Will you be doing this type of video for the other fromsoft games?

Thank you for the nuanced recommendations. Definitely checking them out and subbing!
I love Elden Ring, and I do love Shadow of the Gods too. Then Hunger of the Gods was crazy good. Can't wait for the last one.
I know-hopefully sometime in the next couple of years!
VaatiVidya is the Loremaster of Elden Ring. Definitely worth checking out the lore videos.
Who?
I swear this video is tailor made for me 😅I've been obsessed with the Elden Ring lore!
Great recommendations! I still haven’t played Elden Ring as much as I want to lol.
The settings later on are so cool!
Why am I just learning about this channel now?!?!

I’m so ready for the third book in that series, especially after how book two ends 😱
@@fullmetaanalysis I agree! I hope we don’t have to wait too much longer for it.
Eleventh Cycle is another good one to read, it came out this year. Love this rec list!
Wow didn't knew you had a second channel
There's an ongoing Elden Ring manga too!
I remember you mentioning that! I need to look into it :D
really enjoyed the John Gwynne books.
GodKiller and Witch Hat Atelier are definitely on my list!
