Don't focus on what I said about button prompts. Im saying the amount of new stuff that was added makes it feel like they want a port to feel like a complete product.
@FluppietheRockruffFanNow hang on a second, it took as ~half a decade to figure it out for Generations and we still haven't done it for any other Sonic game other than the 2D 1's. What makes you think we'll figure it out for a completely new engine that quickly?
Controller prompts in the game don't really mean it's gonna be ported. Apple is trying to push their devices as capable gaming devices and controller/keyboard and mouse support is something they brag about and advertise frequently, it wouldn't make sense not to include those in their exclusive Sonic platformer.
It’s not mobile only, it’s Apple Arcade exclusive, that’s a major difference. And as long as that Apple money is rolling in they’re gonna keep putting in effort.
I really like how the Chaos Shift is basically the Doom Blast from Shadow Gens but better in every single way, your not restricted to one direction when you use it in a 3D space unlike in Shadow Gens, you don’t need an enemy to activate it and going off of that you can do it at any time when your in the air
2:28 That actually looks cooler in this game to me due to his arm positioning being similar to his Super Form, Hedgehog Engine 2 Air Boost, and Chaos Control from his solo game.
Just a bit of info as well: Apple and SONY do have an official partnership happening which mostly revolves around their DualSense 5 controllers. When creating games for Apple devices, they of course have controller support, but there’s also a certain flag (in Xcode) that specifically informs the device that a DualSense 5 controller is being used so it can take advantage of its features. Hence why their button prompts are always straight into their games. Additionally, if you head into Apple Stores in person now, you’ll be able to see them selling DualSense 5 controllers (which I can personally vouch for as I’ve seen them), and they’ll also have them hooked up to an Apple TV for gameplay showcase. It was also rumoured that this stemmed from Apple attempting to purchase SONY, which was denied probably on the account of causing a monopoly, if such thing were to be true. Finally, Dream Team is an Apple funded and backed project under HARDlight’s creative and development team, due to its envisionment as being an Apple Arcade product. As a result of Apple essentially causing the game to exist, it’s highly unlikely it would come to other platforms (unless maybe they’re able to buy out the lease?). To play on a big screen, Apple just wants you to buy even more of their products :)
Fantasian (2021) was funded by Apple and just got a cross-platform release earlier this month (Fantasian: Neo Dimension). So it's certainly possible that Dream Team gets a cross-platform release, though it'll likely at least 2.5 years from Dream Team's initial release, if Fantasian's release timeline is anything to go by.
There wasn't anything I partially disliked about it. I think a a big factor why I feel indifferent to it was that I playing it on my phone, which wasn't the most comfortable as I'm either using touch controls or playing with a bluetooth controller with a small screen. I also only had a free month subscription to apple arcade (I'm not paying for a subscription service to temporarily play 1 game) and so I felt like I had to play the game before it ended even if I wasn't in the mood for it. Again I have no problems with the game itself, I just think those two factors just led me to not have rhe best experience with the game. I hope thr game gets ported one day, so I can experience it without having those two particular problems.
The idle animation of Shadow's hand trembling made me raise an eyebrow. We see that the Doom Powers fade away when Shadow kills Neo Devil Doom at the end of Shadow Generations, but I feel like that was just to explain why he doesn't use them in games set after Generations, and they'll likely return one day. Maybe I'm overthinking, it could just be a reference to his inhibitor rings, but I guess it's only a matter of time before we find out.
That's awesome!!! I think because the link to the Black Comet is severed, we won't see them again. I think it can be interchangeable between Chaos and Doom powers though considering Shadow is constantly introspective about what he is.
It definitely could go on consoles like many other Apple Arcade games like Steven Universe Unleash the Light, some of the Lego apple arcade games, Easy Come Easy Golf and many more! We just have to wait for the game to finish updating! Though, I’m not sure how much the GUI will change since, tbh, it dosen’t look like it could be from a console game (though it could still work!)
I definitely think it's reliant on when the updates finish. Or a contract. Or the sales start doing poorly. I get the impression they have an end of service plan though.
I had to chuckle to myself when you said the Egg Pawns makes it feel a bit more modern... bruh Sonic Heroes was 21 years ago as of me typing this lol. I know what you mean but that was funny lol but it's officially labeled as Dreamcast Era as of Sonic Generations.
SEGA needs to give updates to Sonic Racing, too. Both of then deserve console and PC releases and connections to Sonic X Shadow Generations and future Sonic titles, like: Sonic Crossworlds and Sonic Frontiers 2 (if it is going to be called that).
Call it a long shot, but if they ported any Sonic game to VR, this would be the perfect option. It’s not nearly as fast paced as past Sonic games and isn’t doesn’t have complex controls
I didn't see a confirmarion outside of the game awards tweet, but I genuinely hope so! I think Kishimoto's team has proved themselves with the mainline but it's really nice to know Hardlight can do linear and live service stuff on a high quality scale, too.
I've always hated hoverboost on Shadow and I think the skateboost is undoubtedly better BUT the way its animated in this game is so much better than it is in Shadow Gens. In that game he's very chestfront its an animation that fits a character like Metal Sonic where the boost is coming from his back. Dream Team has alot more emphasis on the flying look in the boost and it fits alot better seeing as its coming from his shoes it makes it look more like Iron Man which fits his rocket shoes
Seeing how nice this game looks makes me REALLY concerned about it. Anyone remember Infinity Blade? If you feel like redownloading this iOS classic, well, don't bother - it's no longer available even if you bought it before, cos it's (allegedly) too costly to keep up and update. :/ And it could've become lost media if not for those who flipping pirated them (so you'd want to consult those guys if you want IB back). IB wasn't a subscription or live service; all 3 games were paid complete games straight from the App Store. I had IB 1 and 2 and almost got 3. I still avoid most mobile games these days even tho I'm now on Android where I have more freedom. How they delisted IB really left me feeling scammed. I fear Dream Team will meet a similar fate unless it gets ported. The fact that it's exclusively from Apple Arcade adds more to my concern.
This game's art and model design really reminds me of a HD Sonic Heroes, very plastic. Also, this game is almost bound to be on other devices, since after a year or few, Apple removes games from their service. It'll either be a perminent addition to Apple Arcade, removed then ported to other devices or lost.
I like the plastic look. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, I just enjoy how clean cut it looks. Throughout its first year they've added all this permanent content so I believe it's lining up a little too well for ports to not be a thing.
@DolphynsDeck in terms of a solid art direction, the content and controls, it even got a fun lil gallery of things u can collect through the game! But I do think shadow gens has better cutscenes and fun gameplay
I remember saying about a port of this game and some apple fanboy insulted calling me a "you're a part of the problem" me to the point of getting stalked and I blocked his ass. Karma got to that idiot when Shadow Generations was shown for the first time and I am having a blast but it sucks that only certain users have access to the game. At the end of the day real fans got a better game.
??? shadow generations is on every platform lmao and i wish the actual games we got were better but its embarrassing that this mobile holds up that well.
I just think that someone will decomp this game and then port it to PC. Everyone knows that Apple will prohibit SEGA to port this game to other consoles even if this game is from SEGA... Make my words, the decompilation of Sonic Dream Team will be a reality sometime in 2025 or 2026 (Or 2027?). If SEGA/SEGA Hardlight can't, a random person will do it.
Honestly, I’m not a big fan of how they made the levels exclusive to the weekly missions, that and you have to grind 3000XP to unlock him for the main stages yet he’s playable for them in the Tails Challenges. If the DLC was structured like Sweet Dreams I would’ve liked it much better
I agree!! I was super disappointed that he wasn't a free drop. Only being able to play one level a day was disappointing. I like the idea of having to work for cool rewards, but this was a bit extreme.
If you listen to the points I make it's genuine food for thought. TL;DR the amount of new content they've added over the course of a year exactly makes me believe they want a port to feel like more of a complete product. Also, take a good look around this website. The name of the game is having interesting titles.
Don't focus on what I said about button prompts. Im saying the amount of new stuff that was added makes it feel like they want a port to feel like a complete product.
I need Shadow to blackmail Sonic and laugh at him for sleeping on Eggmans lap
It would be really interesting to see Shadow have an edge over Sonic in a teasing competition lmao
It's def gonna come up in the next twitter takeover
I just want this on PC because the Sonic modding community would have so much fun with this game.
Modding different characters over the archetypes would be a match made in heaven with how this game is designed!
@@DolphynsDeckNot to mention completely new character mods that have original movesets

@@ethanwayne6973have you seen the shadow generations mods? It is pretty easy to figure it out nowadays compared to like 2012

Controller prompts in the game don't really mean it's gonna be ported. Apple is trying to push their devices as capable gaming devices and controller/keyboard and mouse support is something they brag about and advertise frequently, it wouldn't make sense not to include those in their exclusive Sonic platformer.
Plus, either way these button prompts seem the default for Apple Arcade as they’re also seen in Taiko no Tatsujin: Pop Tap Beat and in the main menu
This wasn't my sole reason for saying it would get ported, my main point was how many high effort things they fine-tuned for a mobile-only game.
It’s not mobile only, it’s Apple Arcade exclusive, that’s a major difference. And as long as that Apple money is rolling in they’re gonna keep putting in effort.
Eventually it probably will get a port
@@Faz10do987 not impossible, when the exclusivity deal they most likely have runs out they can do whatever with it so they might do it

He's so cartoony. The polar opposite of Movie Shadow's model lmao
Wouldn't be opposed to seeing them return ☺️
I think this fills me with hope
Yes!! It feels like Shadow is the cherry on top of the updates that could justify charging $20 for a full purchase.
@DolphynsDeck sheesh, no escape from that, right???
@@DolphynsDeckknowing sega it wouldn’t be less than $30
One day Shadow's gonna remember that he can fly...
The Chaos warp thing from Shadow Gens is called "Chaos Dash" btw

It's cool how all his moves feel inspired by Generations but work slightly differently
5:50 "I don't wanna be here, damnit."
"I want to go home"
2:28 That actually looks cooler in this game to me due to his arm positioning being similar to his Super Form, Hedgehog Engine 2 Air Boost, and Chaos Control from his solo game.
The aura around him helps it feel super powerful, too! It's bigger and more yellow than Generations.
