Thanks! I came here to try and find out what the song was!
There used to be a popcorn stall nearby in the 70s and 80s. The popcorn was multicoloured too. So everytime I smell popcorn I think of this ride. The the purple lights inside the ride give it a magical feel.

This ride scares the absolute crap out of me, love it.
Haha really?!
I am in Blackpool hotel LOL and the kids ride
I took my 7 year old daughter on it and she was terrified! 😂🤣
@@yourexperienceguideit’s creepy
A great old classic dark ride that never lets me down, at least not in a big way🙂
Always ride it at least once whenever I’m Pleasure Beach.
I only tend to do it when I am with my boy, not really something I like to do if there's just a group of adults.
I really miss the old audio from the 1990s where Alice voice would introduce you to the ride and mention the white rabbit. I'll never why they put 'golden ticket ' from willy wonder as the sound track. Surely there is a way they could remained the old audio and sound track... I never want this ride to end
They haven't used anything from Willy Wonka, the soundtrack is original to this ride not the film
@@yourexperienceguide I've just looked it up and it is definitely the 1970s track golden ticket from the original Gene Wilder film. The audio with Alices introduction to the ride was amplified on the exterior of the ride
@@yourexperienceguide I mean no disrespect, but I'm sorry, mate, I'm just shocked you have a full channel of Blackpool history and you don't recognize "Golden Ticket." Did you know that the music used for the old Magic Mountain ride was also not original? That was taken from FAO Schwartz. The River Caves also use pre-existing music. Kind of a trend at BPB.
@@aaronsarchive82 So, there’s a history video about Alice’s Wonderland and other things on this channel, feel free to watch it here; th-cam.com/video/kkYQQ5E1PHA/w-d-xo.html
There’s been an ongoing debate for a while about the music, worth remembering this ride is older than the Willy Wonka film, however again there’s been claims made on both sides about the origins of the music.
This is not just a Blackpool channel 👏
@@yourexperienceguide Got it! Thanks! I was not aware it was composed first. Still new to your channel. Keep up the great work!
Huge nostalgia rush from this, it was a favourite of mine froms summer holidays when I was a kid
Thank you for watching and commenting
Loved taking my kids on this when they were little, I'll take my wife on next season instead lol
Haha! My boy loves it
The smell on that ride is so nostalgic to me
I remember as a kid i was so scared of this ride and was crying the whole time.
Thank you for watching and commenting
This is a great video. I remember the old music playing outside too and listened to it recently on TH-cam, like an electronic style it was. Apparently it's Amanda Thompson's favourite ride too. Thanks for filming.
Love this ride my favourite if I honest hope pleasure beach keep this ride many childhood memories and I go each year I in Blackpool xx
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! :)
The best sound track in the park (outside). Its amazing how it all fits in the building it must have mixed with trauma towers, like the goldmine / river caves must mix with the Ghost train to a certain degree.
Trauma Towers was a really small building, it backed onto Alice :)
So does the ghosts train just go back as far as Watson road (I think its called)
Love this ride, looking forward to getting back on it next season *hopefully* 😋
Thanks for sharing this great POV 👍
Thanks Laura!
I like how the ride has this vintage, old school style to it, almost a product of its time, a ride from a bygone age. The only problem is that it looks like half of the stuff in the attraction is old, withered and about to flake off. For the sake of nostalgia, I would like to see them do a restoration rather than a full revamp or modernise of it. Keep the retro look but improve on it by restoring it.
Thank you for watching and commenting
This has always been my fav ride, used to scare me just a tad when i was a little kid lol
Yeah, my parents always like to remind me I was terrified of this as a 4 year old lol
I loved this ride as a kid ❤
Thank you for watching and commenting
Great POV thanks Scott. Can't beat BPB on a sunny summers day!
Thank you! Love a visit to BPB in the sunshine
The soundtrack is brilliant
it's just the willy wonka theme
@@rose-byte It was actually used for this ride first
The music was first used on this ride
@@yourexperienceguide
It most certainly was
I remember going on this ride when I was a boy of about six years old in 1980 or thereabouts. I still remember the background music being Koekoekswals (not that I knew the name of it then, obviously). I also remember plastic frogs leaping directly overhead.
Apparently my mum told me 1st time she took me on this ride I jumped down into the footwell and refused to come out until it was over, it IS rather dark in there!!
Thank you for watching and commenting
Have you noticed the strong resemblance with Alice's adventures in Wonderland at Disneyland California? That's because Walt Disney visited the PleasureBeach and gave them permission to make this ride...its down to the great Walt Disney himself! 😊
We covered some of the history here th-cam.com/video/kkYQQ5E1PHA/w-d-xo.html ☺️
Are you sure? Because Disney don’t own Alice in Wonderland. It’s public domain so anyone can make an Alice ride and you don’t need permission from anyone. Disney only own their own specific version, and the designs in this ride look nothing like the Disney film.
@@kate_cooper I'm sure, the concept is very similar to the Disneyland ride, I've read about it in multiple sources
This o e is better
@@lisafernley3810 no it's no where near better, but, everyone is entitled to their opinion 😊
I loved this ride as a kid and went on it *many* times, but it must be at least 20 years since I've been to the Pleasure Beach 🟠
The Alice ride celebrates 50 years this year.
Christopher Drennan It reached that milestone ten years ago 😉
@@yourexperienceguide I never knew that.
Another fantastic video. Well done! Keep bringing the POV's until next June!
Thanks Preston! I've lost my mojo a bit for the scripted/talk over videos so POVs are an easy get out, will be getting back to some of the informative/opinionated stuff fairly soon hopefully.
I see this ride and im like " you 4 on here now ! " 🤣
Thank you for watching and commenting
I love that guy's accent in the background 😍😍😍. And the music in the ride sounds just like from the willy Wonka film
Thank you for watching and commenting :)
I love this ride
It's a classic
Great POV Scott mate 👍🏻. Hope you’re well and staying safe
We are well thank you, hope you’re ok?
@@yourexperienceguide that’s good, I’m glad you’re well and I’m well thanks
What annoys me more than the fact they're using Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's "Golden Ticket" instrumental is that they couldn't even be bothered to create a perfect loop.
Ok
It’s basically identical to the Main Tittle of Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on the album. Actually Shazam picked that up for me! But it’s a skipping loop.
I love this ride still I remember being 5 and we used to let people infront of us to go on the ginger cat cause ive got a ginger cat called milo
Also im going today !
Thanks for watching and commenting
I remember this ride I went when I was 9 I’m 11 now I’m going when it opens back up I loved this ride
Great
Very nice Scott 😎
Thank you!
This was my first ride I went on at pleasure beach pretty good.
It's a classic
Me and my girlfriend went to it earlier and the 1st time I went on it I loved it everything was amazing.
But why does the theme of "I got a golden ticket" from willy wonka and the chocolate factory have anything to do with Alice in wonderland?
I went on this ride today, and when you go under the card at the start, our cat got stuck and was jolting us up and down 😬 luckily with a quick push we were in our way with no problems
Thank you for watching and commenting
Really funny how the video goes from playing the music with the Alice music outside to the willy Wonka theme 2 old songs then to finish it off with run dmc it's like that
It’s all real sound not music added in
Great POV Scott! A bit different from the Disneyland Alice in Wonderland.
Thanks Kevin, hopefully I'll get to do the Disney version someday.
The Disney one is cute. Been on it a couple of times
My dad said this is the only thing he will go on he to scared of everything else 🤣😂
Thank you for watching and commenting
I don’t get why I looked this up but I remember enjoying this when I was seven and could have done it not even a week after turning ten but the park wouldn’t allow you to just buy token things for the rides so the only option was to pay full price but next time maybe
Jacked Disneyland’s dark ride concept and Willy Wonka’s music 😂😂😂😂😂
Golden Tickets in Wonderland!
Nobody mentioned golden tickets
@@yourexperienceguide The song that was playing when you first went inside.
i was gonna go on this but the pleasure beach was about to shut and i thought the ride would automatically stop when the park shut, but it didn’t and i still regret not going on it. (i’m going to blackpool in 2-1 days and i’m so going on this!!!)

It's very jerky! The old music was much better too!

Why has no one offered to write an exclusive soundtrack for this ride yet, instead of using "I've got a golden ticket" from Willy Wonka?
Alice in Wonderland opened in 1961, it opened with this soundtrack before Charlie/Willy Wonka were a thing.
@@yourexperienceguide How do you know they didn't just change the music later on in the attraction's life? Cause this is DEFINITELY "I've Got a Golden Ticket".
Nice POV!
By the way, I hear Willy Wonka music at 0:44 from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in 1971 lol
The Coasters R Us Series Official Channel The music was wrote for this ride before it was modified for that film ☺️
Why is Willy Wonka "I Got A Golden Ticket" music playing in this ride?
Discussed here; th-cam.com/video/kkYQQ5E1PHA/w-d-xo.html
This ride is 👌
Thank you for watching and commenting
Why are they playing I've got a golden ticket?
Richard John They’re not, they’re playing the soundtrack composed for this ride not a film
This song was composed for the 1971 Willy Wonka movie. Not for this ride.
Ive got a golden ticket from willy wonka :o
The music was used on this ride first
I like that!
Is there a reason why the soundtrack is that of the 1971 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Golden Ticket' rather than Alice of Wonderland's own?
See; th-cam.com/video/kkYQQ5E1PHA/w-d-xo.html
Love this ride but can you tell why the music in in the ride is from Charlie and chocolate factory what has got to do with Alice in wonderland.

Pleasure beach experience do many great vlogs in pleasure beach a walk on the wild side is more Blackpool town etc there few good Blackpool vloggers Helen loud and crowd good also each do their own thing so any negative thoughts you have keep to urself the rest of us love what these guys do
You cant compare the two, they have totally different styles and topics. Some people may say a video of someone just walking around a town is boring. Each to his own. If you dont like something then dont watch, no need to post such boring comments
I never knew there was an Alice in Wonderland dark ride that existed outside of Disney theme parks. I'm aware that Lewis Carol's nonsensical fantasy novels are public domains (like many Victorian Era books). I just didn't expect one that's not at Disneyland or Disneyworld. 🐇🐈🦤🐛🍄🌻🫖🎩👑🃏
