not sure what’s more impressive, walking bases loaded in 12 pitches or getting out of the inning striking out the next 3 batters
Or the ump blowing 2 strikes, one which saved another walk, and another forcing the strikeout.
As a relief pitcher in high school...I felt this.
For the Phillies, it is an art form to see how we can get out of the half inning without scoring a run when we have bases loaded, no outs
@@aa-ze5cz he blew a strike as well. It evens out and all were right next to the edge of the plate which is all you can ask for from an ump. Also, the one that was just maybe inside that could’ve led to a walk doesn’t mean he would’ve walked. He very likely throws a different pitch if the one before it was called a ball.
The 12 straight pitches is more improbable because that means for the most part you are just missing your spot every pitch or the batter is just spitting on everything
That was truly a remarkable inning. But “this kid’s bored as shit” absolutely sent me 😂😂
Doesn’t he kind of look like stalone? Haha
That's his Grandson
@@christohockey74 omg he does!!
Same lol
Then when he showed up again and jomboy goes “this kids miserable” 🤣
After the buildup of the catcher visit and "let's make a good pitch, let's make a good pitch, let's make a good pitch," I knew it was going to be a comically bad pitch, but I was still not prepared for that.
more breakdowns th-cam.com/video/Xddc7U_KrEA/w-d-xo.html
That was almost as bad as 50-Cent's first pitch.
Yeah... it wasn't a bad pitch... it was a freaking horrible pitch
Does that count as a pitch ?
This inning completely sums up the Phillies playoff drought
Talk to me when your got a mariners drought
This pitching is angels every game
@@kvmoney3395 they might actually have a chance this year, just swept the blue jays and are on like a 7 game winning streak!

We’re also missing some HUGE players due to injury and suspension too which is the crazier part.

We need more of these breakdowns. This one was great.
Yeah Jomboy really needs to start doing baseball breakdowns as a regular thing.
The only way for him to do anymore would be hiring a staff to do them. At which point they'd lose their feng shui.
@@Toogs let's unsubscribe and you'll see how he starts doing it frequently. Already did...
No one needs any of this especially with how bad these have become
@@Toogs i was thinking the same thing. we should let him know this some way. like in a comment or somethin
Yes! Carl was my favorite bullpen guy from the Cubs' 2016 WS run, he's so fun to watch. Cool to see a breakdown on his pitching!
The one thing I'd change about Game 7 is he gets that last out
I loved Carl on that team
@@uhhhmaeve it’s was a miracle he got the first two. Be happy they didn’t leave him in to blow it
He added a change-up this year. Best year he's had since 2018.
I got anxiety every time he pitched
Imagine watching your team take 13 consecutive balls then having your next 3 batters strike out immediately
Wasn't long ago they had one of the most expensive pitching rotations.
It's a good thing they won in 2019 when they did since it turns out to be their final window.

As a Nats fan, 2019 is starting to feel like a decade ago. That's how awful this team is.
Sad to see :(
Aw man I don’t mean this offensively but at least y’all handled business that year a lot of great teams out there in history who didn’t win shit
2019 was magical!
imagine being a royals fan
Dont worry, the Mariners are coming to town. Its tradition for them to be just good enough to let me get my hopes up, just for a team like the Nats to sweep them back to the basement, and let me down one more time
I’ll always love when Jomboy puts his face on everyone elses

terrifying
That was some straight up "come and get it" pitching. Aggressive pitch calls and aggressively attacking the zone with those fast balls. Love it.

Actually, for the Phillies, loading the bases with no outs is a death knell for us. I can’t name one instance where the team this year has scored with bases loaded, no outs
Turns out Nats were playing 4D chess with this move 😂
Try being a Cardinals fan lately.
Actually, considering that most of that has been happening to the Cards WHILE we've been playing you... I think you already know how that is.
@@Ariana321 You may have split the series, but I do know how that is. But I have a sneaky feeling that even when Bryce, Jean, Ranger, and Eflin get back, we will find a way to underachieve and your team pulls some magical pixie dust out of your butts, again, to make the third wild card spot
I’ve seen it too many times to fully discount it, even with our incredible play in June and slowish start to July

I feel like only the Nats could walk the bases loaded on 12 pitches and only the Phillies could just completely fail to capitalize on that

with all the craziness of every mlb seasons stuff like this can definitely fall in the margins
but your sports reporting is by far the best out of all major media company's and that's no bs
because for you reporting on this makes us feel like a more aware baseball fan its all about the little things and i think thats what sets you apart from the rest
Alternate title, the Phillies have the bases loaded with no outs and don't score
I think that says more than the Nats pitcher throwing 13 balls. I mean everyone has bad days...
the phils have done this I believe 11 or 12 times this season so this is nothing new

I love this about baseball. You think an inning is shaping up to be one way, then suddenly it does a full 180 and goes the other way. It's always awesome to see the tides turn on a dime like that.
_"Boy, how could these guys lay off pitches that close?"_
It's criminal that this is that first Major League quote anywhere associated with this breakdown.

Phillies, definitely.... A fly ball to the outfield scores a run.... I mean, come on.... That's brutal.
I don't watch baseball...but can't get enough of these breakdowns
4:16 the annoyed kid is Sylvester Stallone you can’t convince me otherwise.
Keibert Ruiz is a good catcher. Definitely a bright spot on the Nats.
He’s gonna be a bright spot for that team for a long time. He’s fun to watch.
Great trade with the Dodgers, for both teams. The Scherzer run in LA last year was fun as heck and Turner is an all star this year. You put Turner back on the Nats this year and he helps, but not enough to get the Nats into contention. Meanwhile Ruiz was just one of 4 guys the Nats got back. That trade will be paying dividends for the Nats for years. In LA Ruiz would have just been blocked by Will Smith.

Ruiz is the Nats' Yadier Molina
Nationals have really fallen from that 2019 dream team. They're killing me as my hometown team. Literally killing me.
They really have declined since 2019

It’s so hard for me to watch this team and get attached because I know everyone is going to get traded

As an Angels fan, I feel your pain 😭
Jomboy is the voice I hear in my head with every pitch selection I make in The Show 22. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
“Now I’m dejected, but I look good!”
Words to live by, lads
I haven't watched a baseball game in over 10 years, but I will watch a baseball breakdown every time.
The E.T. stretch jutsu was my favorite part
Jomboy is an informative and ENTERTAINING presenter! Three Cheers For Him!
I've never really been into baseball tbh. Always felt like it was too slow, not much action and while yes there are teams that have a few better players than others making them an overall slightly better team, most of the outcomes to baseball games are a coin flip as to which team will win...
But there's just something about watching Jomboy break down even the slightest, intricate details that I easily would overlook regarding different pitches, offensive strategies, rarely seen rules from the book, etc. (not to mention the awesome lip reading) that makes me actually grow more and more interested and into it. Preciate the quality content and easy-to-follow breakdowns
🤜💥🤛⚾️
Ok
First ever offensive perfect inning
Best baseball content anywhere. Maybe best content PERIOD.
That REALLY depends on who you’re asking

"does that count as a pitch?!?"

Gotta love Carl Edwards Jr. He pitched in Game 7 of the Cubs' World Series.
4:21 according to the pitch location tracker and the strike zone put on the broadcast, the circle was filled indicating that the pitch was just barely a strike.
5:38 broadcast had it outside, but it might be within the margin of error that these systems have
Jomboy thought we wouldn't notice that he put his face on 9 PEOPLE at the beginning of the video...... BUT WE DID!!
Just as a note, Alec Bohm is pronounced as in “Bone” but with an M at the end. Basically just Bowm or Bome

These are my favorite videos. Love when you analyze pitching
The only reliever they could possibly call in now would be Ricky Vaughn.
I can just hear Bob Uecker saying “ Ball 4. Ball 8. (Clank) Ball and Vaughn has walked the bases loaded.”
Great stuff, Jimmy. Love these pitcher vs batter breakdowns
"Is that ball 4? Does that count as a pitch?" 😂😂
Always enjoy the catchers mannerisms, framing, and all the other very tiny little things they do in these breakdowns
Love these pitching sequence breakdowns!
Such a great breakdown. The unsung "highlight" breakdowns are better than the big highlights
Absolutely incredible
Great job pitcher
Honestly u the only person that make baseball fun to watch and I learn something
3:49 sylvester stallone thought he was slick trying to hide his face with that hat 👀
Great to see a breakdown of Edwards Jr. pitch, he's always a good watch.
1:15 the fact that the radar still picked up the ball where it crossed the "plate" being miles away 🤣🤣
Jombooooyyyy, pitch break was so gnarly, . Being a Nat’s fan, thank you. It got be going, 12 ball later lol.!! Edwards Jr.!!
Great stuff jomboy!! Love your eye for the game🔥🙌
This sentence 'Is he hurt? Do we have to go to the bullpen again?' lmao
The commitment to the ET noises is really appreciated.
In college I walked the bases loaded because I had 0 feel for my fastball that day. However after loading them I struck out 2/3 and popped 1 guy up with all curveballs. It has always been an bad/impressive baseball memory. I am not sure if it is worse that I walked them full or great since I maintained my composure and found a way to get out of the inning.
That’s legit! Definitely a great memory.
Vaughn has walked the bases loaded on 12 straight pitches! Boy how can these guys lay off pitches that close?!
This is why we love Jomboy..fucking legend!!
Jomboy puts on the mamba mentality whenever he sees the comments saying "he needs to make more videos, man is slacking lately"
That inning sums up the post-2019 Nationals better I could ever
That was a great breakdown Jimmy!
carl looked excellent with that clean up
Y'all's edits are hilarious AF
"Low and Vaughn has walked the bases loaded on 12 straight pitches. Boy, how can these guys lay off pitches that close?"
Love the ghosting two pitches to really see how two of the same looking release can deliver two entirely unique flight paths.
Can you please do a breakdown from the mens finals at Wimbledon, Kyrgios had a complete meltdown and was screaming at family members during the match and it was the funniest thing I’ve seen in sports in years and I never watch tennis.
I played baseball at the college level and still didn’t understand how hard it was to hit a pitch until you overlayed two pitches over each other
Was it mostly instinct-based for you? I always find it interesting what pitches guys swing on and wonder how often they decide beforehand whether they will swing on a pitch. Sometimes guys swing on a ball that bounces across the plate, and I question whether they are actually reacting to the pitch or doing what they planned beforehand. In fact, I think the human reaction time makes it pretty hard when guys are throwing 95..but I also have to believe there is a "hitter's instinct" as well.
Love the vids jomboy you should do a video of the weirdest rules and a play that used each of them just and idea love the vids
the irony of of pitchers trying to throw strikes and you making good videos is priceless!
Cover the 8-5 triple play white sox/twins
The setup by Jomboy for that eigth ball abd the result of that ball had me absolutely dying. Nationals are pure comedy.
5:16 is the best part of the video.
“Gonna do a little ET… eee eee ooo ah eee, now I’m good”
Ah good old Carl Edwards, Jr. - former Cub. 2017 NLCS. Not sure which game but at Wrigley. Cubs were leading but it was close. Dodgers have two runners on first and second with one out. Yu Darvish is at bat, CEJr is on the mound. Every Cub fan at Wrigley is thinking - this should be as simple as a strike out or a double play and out of the inning. CEJr proceeds to throw 3 balls in row nowhere near the strike zone. Prompting the catcher to come to the mound to give him a moment and re-focus. Again, all the Cubs fans are thinking (me included) - it's the pitcher, throw it down the middle for an easy strike. It's the pitcher, let him swing a way, chances are excellent for a double play. Darvish fouls off the next pitch so 3-1. Naturally, next pitch is nowhere near the strike zone. Darvish walks. Dodger fans are ROFL, Cub fans are stupefied. I think the Dodgers picked up a couple of runs in the inning and eventually won the game... He was let go in the offseason. Happy to see him back with another major league team. No ill will towards him. Cubs didn't have a chance in that NLCS anway.
This channel gives me HYUGE dopamine hits & I love it
Carl's Jr. putting a big thickburger up on the scoreboard for the Phillies offense! I don't even know what that means! Cool breakdown!
I can hear Bob Uecker now," ball 4, ball 8, ball 12" that scene from the movie Major League would be perfect here.
Carl edwards jr hooked my team up with tickets for Nats vs Braves last week. Great guy.
12 straight balls reminds me of Rick wild thing Vaughn 😂
There was an absolutely wild turn of events a couple weeks ago (I think?) in a nats game where the whole team was walking off the field and the ump called that a run had scored that shouldn’t have scored but then it couldn’t be overturned because they had left the field already. It was a lot so I’m def forgetting things. Would love to see a breakdown of it though!
