    The reason I love your videos is how down to earth you are. This is how it looks when you do your own fabrication and have to make things work. It’s not some hideous 2009 Chevy with a complete kit that someone paid a shop to install. This is actually an awesome truck and the whole process being showcased in such a cool style over the last year, is I’ve watched your videos is why I keep coming back and enjoying your content! Keep it up!

    Seems like you could have kept the longer forward axle placement, just bend your panhard bar. Most are bent from the factory for that very reason.

      It is dangerous. I am close to building a tube buggy if I don’t check myself. My goal is to see how far I can push the “street legal” designation lol

    I doing a swap on a 81 crew cab dually. I'm flat bedding it and using it for towing and weekend driving. My question for you is for the front suspension, should I keep the front leaf springs with nice shocks or do a front link kit? Is the ride quality really that much better for street driving?

    Great stuff man! She’s coming along great. I can’t wait to finish my truck so I can start taking it out! Those Yukon ubolts are amazing. I had a set(my own setup) on my old blazer island they were so much easier and stronger....

    Your adding so much more travel than what you had, don't stress! with the shock up grade in combination with what your adding in travel is gona be quite excellent.

    Any idea what the centre to centre on the axle mounts are? (Width). Want to see if the frame mounts will work for my 06+ super duty axle on my k20

    You know, I just went back and watched the Army truck build for the coil over and it's Panhard bar has a bend right where the diff cover hits on yours. Either way, you're doing awesome work!

    hey merrick you could drill out the threads on that old yoke and put u bolts in. bleepinjeep has a vid on that. turn that old yoke into your trail spare.

      Yea that is my plan. Just figured upgrade now. I am trying to make my u joint the fusible link.

  • @panchorfo
    @panchorfo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am missing the part where you flex the front suspension.
    Why ?
    I'm Doing a parallel 4 link suspension too, and I wanna know the flex that my Jeep would have,

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't started articulating yet. Kinda run before you walk thing. I wanna make sure that it fits, that I have good ride height and that my caster and wheel base is dialed. No good worrying about the articulation if I can't get that stuff dialed. Once the towers are on, I will work on my articulation knowing that the only thing that could be limiting me I can work around (wheel liners, body etc). That stuff can all be tweaked, the frame and axle not so much

    Great vid as per...

  • @lobo176
    @lobo176 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seems to me you may be overdoing it on the compression of the suspension. The extreme rock crawlers always set up for more axle droop than compression. Would make things easier for your set up and doubt you would notice any difference have a little less compression in your set up. Just my 2 cents to throw out there. Anyway, love what your doing and seeing your progress so far. I also love how you go balls deep into getting it done such as removing the front clip...WOW!!

  • @tonyvickers8659
    @tonyvickers8659 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How did they do it on the Army truck? Seems you're running into many problems they did not... or did not show. Keep up the great work! BTW I saw the Amy truck up for sale on craigslist. 35K

    Hey just have a quick ?
    What dana 60 are better Ford or chevy? I have the chance to but a dana 60 but i believe it's a Ford due to the differential drop on the passenger side

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well it depends on the application of course. The high pinion dana 60 from ford is great. But kingpin axles trump all

    GUYS I NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP !!! with my K5 Blazer it left me stranded because I lost voltage going to the fuel pump was only getting 8 instead of 12 so I hard wired it in truck ran great then randomly at half a tank truck starts acting like it's running out of fuel put a new pump in ran great for 2 weeks now it's doing it again just like clock work at half a tank it starts wanting to run out of gas I don't know where to begin could it be the pump again ??!! It's brand new ?? Please help thanks

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      what kind of pump? I had three go bad. Get a new sending unit too

    • @justinmerlie5359
      @justinmerlie5359 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for replying much appreciated so I put in a new sending unit and a new delphi fuel pump and still have this problem ran new fuel lines as well to make sure it's not sucking fuel it's weird that at half a tank right on the dot it acts like it starves for fuel

    • @justinmerlie5359
      @justinmerlie5359 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Should I just can the in tank pump and run one on the rail I hate to keep throwing pumps in the truck just for every 2 weeks they go out

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      keep in the in tank. The gas cools them. I had three bad pumps in a row. Cut a hole in the floor to access. Much easier

    Seems like that four link kit is not a ready to go instalion. Do they offer a pre measured ready to weld on kit? Tough build.

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol. It is me. Keep in mind I rolled my truck and the alignment was way off and stuff was bent. I am aiming to bring everything into full alignment.
      I haven’t had to adjust anything on the kit. All been on my truck.

    Man I wish my tool box cost 3,000 instead of 15. Im amazed you can do as much as you can in your garage. Have you ever thought of having a camera on in your garage to just have a sped up video of just you working you wouldn't even have to narate or even talk to the camera. You could probably double your views each week just by doing that and get some extra money to sink into the truck.

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol, if I doubled the money my channel makes per day I could afford a cup of coffee. Ha Ha.

      Merricks Garage You have great editing, video quality, and some great skills. You could probably shorten the vids and you’d be golden. This is some awesome material, I don’t know how you’re not at 100k subs....

      It is the exposure. I am using my iPhone and the angles I need to film at during the time of day I am shooting produce a lot of glare. Driving me crazy.
