Another technique I really like to use on Deadlock is placing the sensors in places where I would expect an enemy to fight me. I would try to bait out the shooting so that it would stun them and I would get a free kill.
One thing that can be done with the sonic sensor is that when enemy are close to it instead of not reacting at all when enemy shift walk past it it can become in a alert/active state to inform someone is near and then for the stun to activate enemy needs to make sound
Good idea but that could be a nerf too because the point of the trap is to place you in a spot where you either destroy it so you don't get stunned in the middle of a fight in turn giving away info or you try and shift walk past it saving info. I have been playing deadlock a lot recently and I think her traps are fine as they are, they just need to buff how fast the stun activates. Her traps are unique in that they are made to get kills but if they also alerted the enemies, they wouldn't have to make that choice, they would just destroy it instantly taking away the whole point of the stun. They should also buff her grav net, specifically the amount of time it takes to get it off because it's hilariously short rn the whole point of the trap is supposed to be that you either try and remove it making noise alerting the enemies that you are removing the trap giving them a chance for a free kill or just sit there but the amount of time it takes to get it off is so short that no one can react in time for that to happen.
I think she could be one of those agents that once people figure her out more she will be much stronger on certain maps. The sonic sensor for example; I’ve seen people place them to watch flanks which is pointless, they should be used so that they trigger when you want to fight them e.g. where your jiggle peaking, they shot or run and get stunned then you commit to the fight.
It isn’t always pointless to place them on flanks. The deadlock or someone can hold the flank and use it to help them win gunfights. Alternatively there are certain flanks where enemies are forced to make noise that the sonic sensors can be placed on.
@@-SFK. > Placing trap on bind as deadlock to watch any flank > Enemies walk > Trap didn't detect > Teammates dead > Teammates: "WHY YOU DIDNT PLACE TRAP ********"
@@-SFK. sure if your holding it or if in those specific situations where they’d have to make noise (I can’t think of many on flanks). But my point was exactly that, you have to watch it. So vs other sentinels that’s a weaker piece of utility, for that specific job. On the other hand it could be very strong in other situations, but if you’re playing dead lock trip as if they are cypher trips or an alarm not then you’re doing it wrong IMO.
I got her day 3 and have made lineups for her postplant because yes! On lotus c site, I'll wall off spike from mound and have an ult lineup for tap. These tips have helped a lot and I'll be sure to take the a site switch sensor you showed :3 Edit: Thought I'd mention I think she's perfectly balanced as is, maybe a tiny bit underpowered when it comes to her sonic sensor and I think a good change would be where you can pick it up and place it elsewhere during a round whether it has a cooldown like a cypher cam or not as long as you lose it when it activates or is broken.
I personally don't think her Sonic Sensor is a useful in a way a Cypher or Chamber trip is. Instead of using it to just hold an area without having to watch it, I will place one in an area I am actually currently watching (maybe the other in an area my teammate is watching) and hold the angle passively so when they push I can easily back off and I will be able to punish their aggression with the trap if they continue. It's sort of similar for her Ultimate, especially if you ricochet it. If you are able to watch the coccoon behind a corner where the enemy can't see you, you can just have the enemy waste their bullets breaking it then get the kill with your gun once they're free and out of position which almost guarantees you the kill rather than pushing and greeding for more kills while they're distracted with the coccoon
I would like for the sonic sensors to be on a shorter fuse, mayber .2 or .1s faster to trigger once they detect an enemy (need to be really careful with this, we don't want instant stuns either), to essentially allow for more creativity in setting them up. It looks like the current timing is based on how long exactly it takes for someone to run straight through from one end to the other, and it makes sense from a design standpoint. But setting the trip up in a way that it's perpendicular to whatever chokepoint you're trying to cover, to make sure they indeed cannot run straight through, is very predictable. Most of the time if I don't want them to just shoot it down before it activates I need to use really awkward spots where the 'effective' stun area is just a weird corner of the rectangle while the rest of the AoE is "wasted" inside a wall or in an area where they're just very unlikely to path towards, and if my team doesn't find a way to force a fight right then and there, they can run past it way too easily without even thinking about it.
i think deadlock can bring the spike from the attackers and that the aspect i love about deadlock and her ult gives you a free kill and i think her barrier mesh is good to stop from the attackers from going into site and it useful for flanks so i might learn deadlock every game and master her abilities
New videos are fun to watch, been wanting to play deadlock but her kit is confusing so this video is helpful :> (And pretty much a need since I'm on a losing streak and my teammates keep throwing so :,D)
My conclusion on this agent - TLDR; she's very good but very restricted which balances her out, I think her ult could use a buff. Her abilities are very strong. Magnetic nade thing is way better than Fade's cease to secure kills because the enemies can barely move, massive advantage and way better than just removing a bit of health. It's more flexible than Cease but definitely not as good in a Raze combo. The sensors are amazing. Best site holding utility in the game IMO to get kills with. Don't throw it anywhere a nade or bullets would go, it has a very flexible range so it can cover the same area with multiple placements. Very hard to push a site without making noise, so it's always going to work, and it works FAST so it's really hard to react to it especially if there's someone nearby and you either shoot the sensor and die by the player or try to fight the player while stunned, good luck either way. Easy kills. Sadly it is very restricted as a flank protection tool. However she's be probably too strong if that was the case, her abilities are just better than other sentinels but are more restricted. Her wall is honestly, in my opinion, the best regular ability in the game. It's free, it's tanky, you can do some quirky placements with it forcing enemies to shoot multiple walls or the entire thing, it works instantly, easy space coverage. You can even get info with it because if it's not dealt with you can't push that area. Unlike Sage wall that can be destroyed quickly. The 30 seconds does feel shorter than a Sage wall at instances, but it's such good utility to have and doesn't cost 400 fucking credits. Her ult, is arguably her worst ability, but still good. I find it incredible at countering Viper's ult, as a previous Viper player I manage to consistently find Viper's in their pit, and it can be really hard for her teammates to free her while in her pit, so it's usually just a free kill. It does have like a 30 meter range on her beam, so from long range it actually wont bounce. it's incredible at 1v1s if you just aim it well and if you play 1v2/2v2s correctly it can win does quite easily as well. But it's a VERY niche ability, and i had games where I wouldn't use her ult even once in a half, simply cuz I never needed to and preferred saving it for clutches. Her most restricted ability by far. Pro gaming gamer tip: when an enemy is free'd from her ult they can continue moving immediately so they can try to escape, but they have to pull out their weapon. It's a free gunfight essentially if you don't whiff, or you can use that knowledge to bait another enemy into a 1v1 gunfight and then take out the escaped player. Overall, i'd say she's a mid-highmid agent. Not bad, but not insane in any map. I'd say in Haven Cypher is probably a better pick. I think pros will enjoy using her sensors they are incredibly busted against site executes, her walls are incredibly useful and her nade will have some cool combos. I do think she basically kills Cypher in any map other than Haven. Cypher shit agent lol Riot please buff.
one thing i do with deadlock is make lineups for the ult orb on some maps. When you hear the sound, throw the lineup and the enimies are stuck. combo it with a molly from a team mate for free kills
issue i find with this is her ult is kinda pointless if their team is in position to shoot it down--which is very likely when they're just blatantly picking up ult orbs Its the kinda tech that works now--while everyone is still not fully sure what she does--but not when they know to just blast the cocoon.
I have played all my Comp games with Deadlock till yet (after I unlocked) so she is pretty fun. The only thing that makes me think she not as good is the Sonic Sensor as mostly people shift walk (for eg I am on attack and I put sensor for flank) otherwise she is pretty good
Bro the server gets crashing at night times in india for the past few days, can you update about that and then the ping randomly goes high for no reason and drops back, when restarting it shows server error. KINDLY MAKE SOME VIDEO FOR THAT.
i feel like most of her kit is much more weak than sage’s. only her sonic sensors and maybe her ult have a leg up over sage i rarely ever saw a situation (other than her ult and sensor) where pieces of her kit were used and couldnt have been done better with a sage pick
I think the fact that non-damaging assists are 25 combat points is ridicolous. You get more points from a classic shot at the body for 26. Should be like LoL, where all assists split the kill score between them.
Good vid on Deadlock altho I disagree with the comment about her needing buffs. I do think she really needs buffs atm. Ofc KJ is on her own leaque atm but against Cypher I would rather pick him than DL. AND then also why would you rank Reyna as A tier agent? I dont really get that, since IMO she doesnt do anything for the team. This is team game at its core Also I am Neon main and I somewhat agree with that list XD
For reyna if you listen he just speaks for rank up soloq not really if the character is good in itself or not and reyna for soloq in most ranks remains good even if you manage to play well after of course at the esport level she does not is not very playable but if you look even while radiant or other there are reyna players since it is easy to chain the kills if you play well, it allows a great increase in rr at the end of the game but her problem is that if you have a bad shot she is useless
Maybe as people get more used to her and learn how to counter her she'll become even weaker, and in that case buffs will probably be necessary. Also like @Gigix448 said that list is basically just for solo q comp, and she's probably the best agent to frag out get higher stats for a performance bonus. Ofc in a more organized / team environment she's outclassed by a lot of other agents.
IMO it doesnt matter if its soloq or vct. Reyna is bad and teaches you wrong habbits and doesnt provide anything. Only thing Reyna does provide is kinda aim diff but you can do that exact same thing with any other agent
As the name implies, she's super good in locking down sites in defense but super weak on attacking. they should perhaps buff her in attacking to bring her up to S tier if Riot wants to see her in pro play.
yeah i noticed the sensor is less to guard flanks and more to help you fight if you know an enemy is going to push your location but sometimes i block flanks with a wall and put a trip there as well
only buffs I see is quality of life, like easier aiming of ult, choosing if you want to bounce for example. the rest of her kit is very good, it's just not very intuitive, so lower elo won't use her potential. Similar to harbor on launch.
