I don't know how I found Dr. Peterson but I've followed him for 4 years now. I'd like to see him in person atleast once in my life and say "Thank you" coz when I was down, his words made me believe that if I survive this tyranny and this desert then maybe beyond a war I can get to the promised land and that keeps me going. 'We haven't even got to the first sentence of the biblical stories yet' - laughter and applause... this is what I love most about JP, this passion for exploration into the truth that it goes beyond the bounds of a framework and invokes the spirit of that in its raw and powerful way, which knows no bounds or constraints.
And the audiences response shows just how captivated and with him they are, that applause is like the highest affirmation of that unity of souls embarking on the same quest.
I have a deep feeling that he is one of the most important thinkers of all time, and he exists in our time, which, despite the current state of the world, makes it an incredible time to be alive.

I was an atheist most of my life , smugly shaking my head at "Christians" and other fools that had been "Brainwashed" by religions.
I am now a Christian of two years , came here from reason as well as faith. It was me that was "brainwashed " by society norms and an unwillingness to open my mind to other view points.
I decided to read in to the Resurrection , with a view to find a "rational" explanation ; Instead , I came out convinced it REALLY did happen - it was historic.
I would advise others to not be so sure their view is right , and people that are Christians are just Brainwashed etc
We have no problem with everything coming from "nothing" (Big Bang) , yet a man coming back from the dead can't be possible.
    And dismissing us (Christians or Religious) as dumb doesn't hold water either;
A lot of the best minds in history , that have progressed science and thus, technology were also Christians.
I think surely we can all agree, Atheist or believer that if people ACTUALLY acted more like Christ (including myself and other Christians) to others, there would be less suffering in the world.
I could well be wrong , but I am really proud to believe in Christ.
    God bless ❤

Congrats on acknowledging our Creator. The real question is, do you smugly shake your head at non-Christians now? Unfortunately, as awesome as Christ is, Christianity has become CULTure. Once you understand Christianity, you'll be at the first step of understanding and starting to ask real questions about Christ's life and teachings. Not what unqualified, strip mall American preachers teach. Ask where baptism and disciplic succession actually came from since the Abrahamic teachings clearly never had those processes.

Mainly an ideology that probably began during the French revolution which was the precursor to Marxism/Communism that dismatled and caused some of the most wicked bloodshed in recent history, literally in the last 100 years, this idea now soaks the west that the ancients were nothing but smelly farmers because didn't have cars and Iphones and beleived in God, but when we look at ancient writting, stories, war stragedies and architecture we see that these people although limited in science and technology were gifted in many other more important aspects that have to do with human consciousness.

The idea of collectively subordinating ourselves to God had been something that I've been recently thinking about in relationship to moral relativism. Christians placed highest importance on individuality and form. Christians cannot imagine mind or intelligence operating in any effective way other than through the medium of individual form. Because of this, Christians have created a mental image of a vast supreme being, having all the attributes, positive and negative, of a human being. Thus was it possible for Christians to believe in-and speak of-God's anger, threats of punishment, visitations of sickness and plagues in response to human waywardness. But these mental images are MYTHS and FALLACIES. Therefore, they do not exist.
You see, it is the MIND-the intelligence exhibited-which is the all-important factor relating to creation and man himself. Therefore, Genesis should be rewritten: "Before creation-is UNIVERSAL MIND-Creative Power behind and within creation itself.

Referring to God as a "person" is pretty reductive. I don't know how a single "person" can encompass the Holy Trinity. Because people were created in God's image, that does not make him a "person" any more than a human who paints a 2 dimensional self portrait would be considered a "canvas". He's so incredibly much more than a "person", that I think I could be appropriate to classify him as a "thing" of sorts from an ultra limited human perspective.

Dr. Peterson, you make me cry. The hope for the world is so hidden from us by our self centric perspective that though it stairs us in the face every day we never see it and those that do know it, avoid examining it. We live in a sad, blinded world the light of which is kept in a box that everyone is afraid to open. May that light one day be accepted by mankind and many benefit from its glory. I’m afraid that that day will not come before all hope will be lost for all but the very few who will put aside every earthly interest and do their best to implement Gods word in their lives to his glory. After creating a human person as his image, God himself breathes into him the breath of life, opening his nostrils, and causing him to live, and to function as God’s image. The gift which is here given to human persons is to be the means by which God is going to act, to work, in his creation. This is a gift and a privilege, as God does not need humanity in order to act in Creation, any more than he needed a creation in which to act. The fall then represents the failure of humanity to serve as the image of God. Rather than participating in the works of God, man undertakes his own work, another, foreign motion of his will. At this point, as the Fathers distinguish between image and likeness, humanity loses the likeness to God, though human persons continue to be God’s image, such that the reverence which is shown for a human person passes on to his creator, as does the lack thereof (Gen 9:6, Matt 25:31-46)."

From what I can gather, this is a lot like physics. We have a multitude of pieces that point to a certain “answer”; however, we cannot validate that answer directly. “God” seems to be more symbolic than an actual “Thing”.
I came up with something working with machines that I have heard has been put other ways but: “Everything works perfectly, when it works, even when not perfect.”
Such is humanity. I do believe that we will rise and fall many more times. I think we are not allowed to get “to good”.. people will always want more via greed, gluttony, power hungry or something. Like they have said for forever, “imagine what we could do if we would all just stop fighting”

Your question reminds me somewhat of the prognosticators in Athens (Acts 17:19-31)
It is entirely possible that we end up talking delight in our experience of wonder instead of taking delight in God himself.
The process of intellectual stimulation without getting personal with God also softens our sense of accountability, and gives us the feeling that we might be able to make the rules bend to our thoughts and assertions, rather than having an objective standard from an immutable God.

i’ve been a very big fan of jordan peterson for a while as a young christian woman. i realized within the past 3 weeks that watching jordan petersons talks these past couple years has been watering and growing this seed of doubt in me, and an intellectual pride. I realized he is appealing to people because what he says is true to an extent, because his words are biblical truths, but without the presence of God among them. i can feel no love of God from him, but a yearning for freedom from his pride. yet a love of his “high sounding philosophies”. i feel a disparity coming from him, a suffering spirit. i pray that jordan peterson has this revelation which our wonderful God has blessed me with. I thank Mr. Peterson for sharing with us the gift which God has given him to speak for and to others. I pray his followers realize they cannot explain everything, at some point you must really face the Lord himself, and stop talking about doing so in a conceptual sense. God is not just the potential that is within you, God is a personal being who really loves you, and desires to talk with you. do not be mislead my beloved brothers and sisters. may Christ bless you with His true grace. Amen.

God is just a name, a term, a word, we use to describe what is the ultimate expression of existence, of everything that is. That which is all powerful, all knowing, everywhere and always has been and always will be. The source and sustainer of all that exists. Existence and being itself. That is what we call "God".

A good affirmation of how the parable of the weeds and the wheat came to fruition.

God is Being, He is not a being.
Dr Peterson, it would be great if you could do a series on the relational dynamic between the Phisical and Spiritual dimensions at some stage.
How they are interdependent on each other. How the laws that governs the Phisical originates from the Spiritual, but more interestingly why the Spiritual requires the Phisical to give substance to It’s thoughts.
