Definitely join the rewards and let them know how much you are spending. I took your advice last year when we stayed at the Bellagio and charged most things to the room and used my MGM players card when gambling. A year later, I got an offer from MGM in my email and we just booked a trip with 3 comped nights. This is after ONE trip to Vegas. It's saving us a ton on our next trip! We booked Park MGM! Love you Ruby! I'm so glad your channel is doing so well! 🥰

We stay at the Wynn Encore about three times a year. We bring a travel size drip coffee maker and a 7-cup Zero Pitcher (purchased on Amazon) for as much purified water and coffee as we want. I throw a few empty water bottle in the luggage to put creamer and water in when we get to the hotel. I will get creamer at Walgreens or from the cafe. I’ll fill the ice bucket with ice to keep the creamer cold. I set up a little bistro in the bathroom and it works great. We save at least $150 on water and coffee on a four day trip.
You're gonna have fun! Don't listen to ppl who say you'll spend a kidney and a liver. I spent well under 1k and had a blast. Going again in a day! Enjoy Vegas 😎
I just want to mention that I have always gotten better rates through Expedia than I have booking directly and I have never had an issue with a hotel cancelling my Expedia reservation. That might not be everyone's experience but it's been mine and I travel there frequently.

This is awesome Ruby. We save money by traveling Fulltime in our RV and we stay at the military base in north vegas and We will be in Vegas for the winter and hope to meet you. Have an awesome day.
We book directly with the hotel, but we call the hotel and work with the host to find the best price. Expedia was triple the price of what we got through the hotel. We normally stay at the same hotel, so that helps getting the best price.
For anyone driving to Vegas and staying on the strip, a tip is to always bring a small cooler with you and a pack of water bottles (and whatever other drinks you wanna keep in your room) in your room and fill up your cooler from the ice machine on your floor to keep your drinks cold especially in the summer! Most of the strip hotels dont have an empty fridge that you can store your own things in- they usually will have their own provided items that cost an arm and a leg. You end up saving tons on cold water this way!
When I can, I try to schedule my trips so that they cross 2 calendar months. SOME places give out comps on a monthly basis. You can collect your free play and food comps twice in one stay.
@@brians7560 Sure, when you eat at a restaurant at a place you are staying instead of paying the bill you can ask to "charge the bill" to your room. Then you pay the total balance at checkout. Occasionally you can ask for items on that bill to be comped depending on how much you have spent. Hope that helps. I make content in Vegas also so I use these tips weekly
I have also started charging all restaurants to my room to consolidate my spending. Just before check out, I have gone to the rewards desk of the hotel I am staying at to ask for comps. They have always rejected my requests, which is even more frustrating bc I often wait over 30 min in line only to get rejected in 2 min. What desk at the hotel should I be talking to to have the best odds of getting serious consideration for even little comps? @travelruby
@@jchen1436 We usually ask at the check out desk. You can be specific when asking. I often ask to have the resort fee waved at a minimum. I say something like, "did I spend enough to at least get our resort fee waived?" Works about half the time but depends on what we spend. Hope that helps some, cheers
@@jchen1436 You could try the casino host but they only care about what is attached to your players card. Also, use your players card when booking so it shows up as rewards points or money spent. You probably already do that but had to mention it.
The Bellagio tram only goes to Park MGM with a stop at Crystals/Aria. There is another separate tram that goes from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay with a stop at Luxor. But you can't get to Mandalay Bay from Bellagio on one tram ride.
My favorite ways to save money are packing a hot water kettle to make morning tea and oatmeal for breakfast. Packing snacks like apples, pretzels, and granola bars while out and about. Plus eating at the food courts or visiting a grocery store for grab and go items. We often stay at Mandalay Bay and visit the Whole Foods nearby for their salad bar. Dining out at lunch is often lower cost than dinner menus and I like to pick up some salsa and chips from the store for evening snacks in the room. My Vegas gave us free tickets to the Illuminarium recently which saved us $35 per person. Love your videos!
Ruby's suggestion of bringing your own coffee maker to Vegas is a great one! Tremendous savings in terms of money and convenience. I bought a 1-cup Hamilton Beach coffee maker for about $30. You can order the filters on line. I can have 2-3 cups in my room in the morning at very low cost.
As a Vegas local I can tell you this is an excellent video! Great tips. Taxi are shady, we avoid. The $20 tricks DOES work but ONLY if they actually have rooms. Works better on weekdays. Fuel Bar is also a great buy one get one, Brazilian Margaritas are 🔥
Great Video Ruby. We go to Vegas often and it was great to hear that based on your tips we are doing it right. You are by far the most helpful resource we follow. Thanks and keep up the great work 😊
My biggest tip for saving money which you sort of covered is GO BIG one time and then never pay for a room again. Maybe it’s different for a more frequent traveler but for someone like me who goes to Vegas once maybe twice a year, I never pay for a room. For my 30th, my fiance and I went to Cosmo, booked a room for 3 nights with an Identity (now MGM rewards) account. Had dinners at the resort, gambled there, made sure we used our rewards card with everything. Ever since that trip, I have never had to pay for a room at the Cosmo. I’ve gone back at least 4 or 5 times. I use miles for my flights from NY, stay there for free and all my money goes to food and gambling. And while yes, all the comps are there to take my money at the Casino, last time I was there I left $5700 up from Roulette and Craps. Sooo take that Vegas!!!
great video and great tips!! what about a video about how to save TIME while on vacation in Vegas? My last few trips there just wasn't enough time to do what I wanted to do.
Heres a few things Booking direct: If you have the gold rewards with Caesars, you can easily get comped to $50 a night before resort fees at Linq, Harrah's, and a few others. I went this spring to Vegas for Sick New World and trip was from Tuesday to Saturday and my total room cost was $355. Cheap food: Either use MyVegas for food options or go the Linq Promenade. If you need to move around the strip, monorails and the deuce will be your friend. 24 hour bus pass is $8 and goes all the way from the airport to Fremont strip.
Great tips! Mine is to stay off the strip and use the bus or if you have a car park at Fashion Show mall. Ruby, the top you're wearing is lovely, really suits you.
You remind me so much of my daughter she is a super couponer she will sniff out ways to save money all the time people in general are too lazy to seek out ways to save money good thing you around to educate the masses appreciate you Ruby🎉
i would throw in get an LVA membership book (las vegas advisor) lots of coupons for match play free play discounted meals and more hundreds of dollars of value for cheap, it’s mostly for off strip and downtown properties but still totally worth getting!
Just checked room rates for the Venetian on Nov 4-8 2024. Rates dropped $2000.00!!!!! The only reason I called was because of this Video. Thank you Travel Ruby!!!!
I’ve been to Vegas like 30 times and I still learned something (several really) from this. The reward programs and Lift/Uber comparisons were great tips! One that I have found over the years is what we call Hotel Roulette. If something is wrong with your room, respectfully let the front desk know and act really disappointed (again, VERY respectfully). Most times we got upgraded because of it. Thanks for the video. How about one on unique high end food experiences? 😊
We stayed at TI it was convenient having the CVS right there!! We are beer drinkers and we bought 18 packs and saved a lot of money!! We love in and out burger and he loves Gordon Ramsey fish and chips( little pricey) but it’s theeee best!! We also did the Wicked Spoon buffet and loved that too!!
Ruby, my ultimate money saving LVNV tip is to stop at WALMART on the way from the airport to the hotel, and stock up on cases of water, energy drinks, iced coffees, etc, as well as snacks like cliff bars and other on-the-go snacks. And don't forget a little bit of alcohol for the room! The waters are, honestly, my #1 Vegas hack, and it's something that so many first-timers don't think about. Getting water in Vegas is hard/expensive, but spending $15 for 4 cases of water for your room will go a long way towards the dreaded Vegas dehydration hangover. The snacks are great if you want to hit the pool early, and don't want to spend $40 on breakfast on property. And having a Cliff bar before heading out for the night helps avoid drunk food purchases.
Yup we do this too except we go to Target. We always rent a car at the airport for our stay and then go straight to Target to stock up on water and snacks before we get to our hotel.
My tips: Use public transportation ($5 for 24 hr pass with purchase on the bus) - u can use the 108 or 109 from the airport to the south terminal then catch the Deuce to the Strip, don't come on the weekends, arrange for a 3-night timeshare presentation with Wyndham or Marriott for $199 (you will get back $100 after attending the 2-hr presentation + hotel points) for your hotel accommodations.
I like getting bags of almonds and any other keto snacks for the room at cvs! I share my lunch with my sister and usually eat early at The Wicked Spoon and last time it included coffee for free!
Would love you to a video for best way to book a Vegas stay for us Brits coming from the UK. I’m always a little scared about booking a hotel direct and separate flights. My favourite hotel is The Signature at MGM Grand and I would love you to do a review on it too. The one-bedroom balcony suite is amazing especially if you’re staying in Vegas for a couple of weeks. Love watching your channel! xx💖
Get the players club account/card before you book. Book direct, and try to get middle priced hotel/casono. Also, stay near where you think youll enjoy the area. Pace yourself for spending and set a gambling limit.
I am coming in September to Excalibur from Manchester, England. I plan to eat one meal a day and live off snacks for the rest haha. First time to Las Vegas!
@@algernon5776 sadly i can't afford to! This trip is costing me a fortune. I have read some of the reviews online, I am going with an open mind. :) if it's that bad i will deal with it when i am there haha.
I love the tip for checking Uber & Lyftat the same time. I paid way to much money getting a cab from one hotel to another 😉 while sitting at the traffic lights…
Great video Ruby, and lots of wonderful tips! Some rooms no longer have refrigerators or the refrigerators are used for the minibar items. The daily charge for a refrigerator can be expensive. You can get a free refrigerator if you tell them that you have medication that requires refrigeration. I actually do have medication that requires refrigeration, but I can tell you that they I’ve never asked to look at it. Even if you fib to get a free refrigerator, and you don’t have any medication, I don’t feel it’s that bad , as you are paying such large resort fees. Sometimes the refrigerators are small, but they are still good for keeping a few drinks and items cold.
Thanks so much Ruby! We took your advise about checking the prices, to see if they dropped and they did! We have reservations for the Horseshoe for October. The person who assisted me was pretty nice about it. We saved a total of $82! We'll have our first drink to Mr. Ruby and you...
This is a great video. Hubs and I have been to Vegas twice, and each time we came Sunday-Wednesday. Flights (from Cincinnati) were more than I wanted to spend both times. Tuesday-Friday saves around $100 each. Brilliant! Also, I never thought about charging everything to the room, and that would have helped us on our last trip for sure. We stayed at the Bellagio in a Salone Suite - definitely not money saving but worth it! :)
Arriving next Friday from the UK for our "mini-moon" and wife's birthday. Staying 2 nights downtown at the Plaza and then 3 nights at Caesars. Booked directly with Plaza for their 1 Year Anniversary package, including some pizza, free drinks, and a wristband for bottomless cocktails. So that should save some money. Been lots of times though and know what to expect price-wise. Love the videos & the channel. I saw you turned the fireworks on, I think we might arrive just after they go off, but fingers crossed.
You mentioned “The Duce”… yes it is slow! However, if you staying in the south strip area and want to go downtown, jump on the monorail and take it all the way down to Sahara and then get on the Duce there. Yes are paying for both but that’s the quickest cheap way to go.
Another great video, we re subscribers from the UK and regular Vegas visitors, and your tips have been brilliant. Have you ever been to see a game at the Vegas ballpark? If not, that would be a fun video. Thanks again
Hey Ruby - you mentioned Tier Matching - how is that done - do you just take your card from that one property you’ve stayed at and gambled at, and then go to say Caesars and just go to players club and ask them to tier match, or how does it work? Thanks! Oh yea, also, call me naive, but I don’t get the $20 thing - is that to give them a tip if they do it for you, or what is the point of the $20 between your ID and CC? Thanks!

Loved this! Thanks!
I like getting bags of almonds and any other keto snacks for the room at cvs! I share my lunch with my sister and usually eat early at The Wicked Spoon and last time it included coffee for free!
Ruby I love your channel! :)
Thanks you saved us over $1000 on our pre paid room reservation at the Encore! We are pumped!
Love watching your channel! xx💖
Yes video poker at the bar will get you drinks. And you can usually play awhile.
Get the players club account/card before you book.
Book direct, and try to get middle priced hotel/casono.
Also, stay near where you think youll enjoy the area.
Pace yourself for spending and set a gambling limit.
Great video! ❤
Good video. I like to save money visiting Vegas. Hopefully I get there this fall. Keep up the good work. Alita from nc
Awesome content. Thank you for the hard work.
I am coming in September to Excalibur from Manchester, England. I plan to eat one meal a day and live off snacks for the rest haha. First time to Las Vegas!
Hot dog and beer is $4 in few places a kettle and some instant noodles does the trick too lol
Have fun!! But September is still warm so make sure the pack accordingly and stay hydrated.
If you can change your hotel 🏨 do it. Excalibur is rated the #1 worse hotel it is a dump
@@algernon5776 sadly i can't afford to! This trip is costing me a fortune. I have read some of the reviews online, I am going with an open mind. :) if it's that bad i will deal with it when i am there haha.
@@melanieg760 going middle to end of September, will i need to pack a jacket or not? Thank you too !
I have 3 pages of notes from your various videos. Thanks for this.
I love the tip for checking Uber & Lyftat the same time. I paid way to much money getting a cab from one hotel to another 😉 while sitting at the traffic lights…
Hi Ruby!! Love both your travel and slots channel! Would love to see your top hotel rooms with balconies.
Excellent info, Ruby!
You’re the Best Ruby!!!❤
Coming in October & can't wait & already use the tram for MGM properties...thank you for your great videos 🌺
Thanks so much Ruby! We took your advise about checking the prices, to see if they dropped and they did! We have reservations for the Horseshoe for October. The person who assisted me was pretty nice about it. We saved a total of $82! We'll have our first drink to Mr. Ruby and you...
Great video! I haven’t paid resort fees in 4.5 years. Platinum at MGM and Diamond Plus at Caesars.
Another great video! Thanks for the tips Ruby!
Great, Great information! Hope you are staying hydrated and cool with those high temps. Can’t wait to head to Reno and hope to see you there. 😊
Thank you so helpful
Catch all the free shows- fountain show, aquariums, luxor light etc
This is a great video. Hubs and I have been to Vegas twice, and each time we came Sunday-Wednesday. Flights (from Cincinnati) were more than I wanted to spend both times. Tuesday-Friday saves around $100 each. Brilliant! Also, I never thought about charging everything to the room, and that would have helped us on our last trip for sure. We stayed at the Bellagio in a Salone Suite - definitely not money saving but worth it! :)
Just adjusted my room rate today for treasure island. Saved me 45 bucks!
Great Video, I like when you give those insider tips.
I saw you turned the fireworks on, I think we might arrive just after they go off, but fingers crossed.
excellent room rate hack- lots of great info here. Cheers!
I love these videos, Ruby! I use most of these tips myself. Especially the my Vegas app. You can rack up some good offers.
Thank you so much for the tips I love it. I have couple of trips planned to Vegas. Am going to booked direct. 👍🏻
👍 Very useful thanks!
Good Video. Good Advice. Days off is best time
Love your videos...I love vegas...thank you
Great video as usual Ruby
8:58 love this one.
love your channel , you're the best!!
You are so right. Tell everyone your Steve Wynn and everything is free.
😂
Or you maybe kicked out of Vegas! 😂😂😂
You’re amazing! 💕 🤗Excellent information!
Thank you so much!!!
Thank you Mama Ruby
Thanks!
Great job as always on the tips
You mentioned “The Duce”… yes it is slow! However, if you staying in the south strip area and want to go downtown, jump on the monorail and take it all the way down to Sahara and then get on the Duce there. Yes are paying for both but that’s the quickest cheap way to go.
an excellent video ruby.
Great tips!!!
Love the tips…thank you 👍
Another great video, we re subscribers from the UK and regular Vegas visitors, and your tips have been brilliant.
Thanks!
