Hey Uncle Fjester....I'm a retired Realtor had a combo box hanging on my wall for years I forgot the combo your little trick worked perfectly to find the combo. I must have cut my shim just the right way the shim that I made only went in so far until the right number came up then the shim went in further so I knew that was the right spot. Dropped the numbers down one number at a time until the lock opened...the final combo I would have never guessed in a million years...so thanks to you and TH-cam this combo box can be used again...many thanks.
Great Video!!! After being told by a local and reputable locksmith company they don't open these they break them off. I was inspired by your and made one of your quality tools. For me positioning the shim at the top of the wheel and down at a 45% angle with scrolling the wheel up was more reliable.
Most excellent! I'm homeless and there are A LOT of vacant businesses in my area. I see these boxes all over the place. Now I'll have a roof over my head.
Perfect! This totally worked. Have a Master Lock lock box on the wall of my house from a previous owner and wanted to use it ourselves. I found that two consecutive numbers made the shim loose, but the trick of going one back to see the shim move showed it was the second number. So appreciative man. Thanks.
Thanks! This really helped! Got the lock open in no time. Took longer to make the shim. It also helps to apply slight downward pressure on the shin once you have it inserted into the lock, because once you hit the right number you will feel an obvious release in pressure!
This video is amazing!! My realtor left the lock box on my door and it’s been months since I moved in so I’m taking it off myself lol but here’s a tip for those that have add, adhd or even just can’t focus easily through the whole video , turn the playback speed to 1.25 or 1.75 and it’s much easier to listen to and get through. I loved this video but for me personally, I cant focus when people talk with long pauses between their words lol so that helped a lot
Took me just a few minutes and it works! If there's anything I would add to the instructions is when the shim is on the right number, you can easily move it up and down. When it's on a wrong number, the shim resists. Thanks!
I tried every single other video tutorial and yours is the only one that I got to work! Thank you so much for the tutorial. Your instructions are so precise and you can really see and notice that changes like you showed in the video 👍👍👍👍👍
10:15 is the most important step. After determining the location of the flat spot with the shim, +3 to each number. It's easy to miss if you're impatient like me.
@@ЭрнестРаппапорт the + 1 actually worked for me maybe its different with each lock or it could be i went +1 from the point where mt shim went up where he went back down 1 then added 3 or maybe i just got lucky who knows
You're the best, thank you! I was able to get the spare keys out of my mountain retreat before someone else did. Contractors left it up there then claimed it wasn't theirs. SO glad you helped! Liked, subscribed, commented, shared...everything. Thank you SO much!
THANKYOU!!!! I've watched 5 different videos. And this is the only one which worked!!! Thank you very much. Mine I only had to scroll up 2 more clicks. Not 3. So to all those out there still struggling. Scroll the wheel up one digit at a time untill you go full circle. Cheers @uncle Fjester!
Thanks! Your video helped me to finally figure out this lockbox. I have been trying for at least 4 months and all the other videos never prevailed in my lock opening UNTIL I saw yours. Thank you SO much. I finally have the lockbox working for me.
Thanks so much. As a retired RE/MAX Realtor of 25 years, I have accumulated a few of these that had combinations that were useful at the time, but long forgotten. Now they are useful again.
Tried this technique on an old lockbox left behind by a contractor I've had for YEARS. Including the time it took to make the shim, I had the lock open in about 10 minutes. It was a little scary how easy it was to open this thing, though. Thanks again!
I just wanted to say thank you very much. I bought a home that had a ML spare key box mounted on the wall and I've lived here for 3 years wondering what was in there. With your tutorial and explanations, I used the same pick you have and made the shim with a soda can and got it in 2 minutes flat. Thank you so much.
@@UncleFjester Funny enough, there were 2 sets of spare keys to locks that the former owners had already changed out by the time I bought the place. Looks like they forgot their combination and decided to just leave the old keys in there. 😂 Now I can finally access the screws and remove that thing from the wall since it can be picked with a soda can lol
Awesome took me about 5 minutes! I thought I got it in a minute my first attempt, but that would have been to easy. Thanks for the video! The other one I saw didn’t give a deep enough explanation, your in-depth explanation really helped solidify how to get it to work
It worked. Fabulous. I tried first with different type of material to do the shimmy but it they didn't hold up. I then found a can and followed your instructions to the a new shimmy. It took me 10 minutes to get it opened. Had to do it twice to be sure. I added 3 numbers and wallah! It opened. And just happed the combination I did not remember it. Thank you for so clear illustrations. ❤ I almost removed the knob. 😅
My business partner passed away a few days before Christmas. About 2 years ago while we were drinking some how the conversation surfaced about this lockbox he forgot the code to many years ago. For years he tried to open it and couldn't. He said he will never throw it away because someone will figure it out. Well thanks to you this box that has been locked for almost 10 years maybe more has been finally opened.
Thanks a ton! Like many others, I tried a few videos until I found this one. The soda can trick worked like a charm. A note to others attempting this, the tip of the shim has to be cut fairly thin, otherwise it can get caught in the mechanisms and give you false positives. Once you figure out how to wedge it in properly, the rest is pretty easy.
Amazing tutorial - I’ve watched loads but you’re the one who helped me break into my own key safe! Many thanks for taking the time to give exact details.
Bought a house in August and no one knew the code to get the lock box off of my front gate. One beer, a pair of scissors, and 5 minutes - I got the thing off without having to saw it or call a professional. Excellent tutorial 👍👍

Thanks for the video. I made the shim as you suggested and had the lockbox open in a few minutes. Maybe it was the Fort Point Animal beer can that I used that held the magic! Thanks again.
Thanks so much! After figuring out to make the shim narrow enough and work it clear down inside, I got 4 numbers that didn’t open it, but taking more of your advice I moved each number up 3 digits and to my complete surprise, voila it popped open!
This is an amazing video! It actually works and took me 5 minutes after making the simple shim from dr pepper can! Thanks Uncle Fjester ... saved me $40 lockbox cost! I called lock company and they said there is no way to get into these.
I tried your method and it worked. I used a piece of film first. It didn't work. I eventually bought a soda and use the can to make a shim and it finaly worked. Thanks
HOLY CANOLI! IT WORKED! Thank you so much for posting! I watched the video . Took me less than five minutes after the shim was done. Don’t forget to add 3 everyone! Took a big chance and used fruit juice can instead of a Coke can. Still worked!
I feel like ZZ TOP just taught me how to open my MASTER LOCK MODEL 5400D KEYSAFE that has been unused for almost 10 years in my drawer upstairs. Their song "TUSH" just became "TOUCH" as in picking a lock. The paper wheel added a great visual. I did something like that when showing my wife what removing a 4 links in my Spidel watchband looked like with the staples it uses on the flat springs.
unreal...first I tried with a Arizona Tea can, but the material was likely to soft. So, I cut a piece of plastic from the original Master Lock packaging, and ba boom. It worked the first time. Thanks so much!
You are honestly a boss!! I've been trying for weeks using other videos. Watched this and figured out my combo within 15 minutes. Seriously, thank you for being so thorough in your video!
Like a klutz, I forgot my combination the second day I owned this lock box. I was able to pick it in less than 30 mins with your instructions. I have brought that down to less than a minute since. There has been a slight update to the design recently, where there is an extra disk of metal next to the wheel, so you have to aim the shim slightly to the left as you insert it. Also, I would recommend making the trapezoid very skinny, that is what worked best for me.
So grateful for this detailed explanation. On to taking the lockbox off our door which Orkin left 2 months ago after tenting our home and hasnt removed. Im sick of waiting for them.
This is the best tip of them all. Basically, you stick the jimmy down until it stops. Then tapping it lightly toward the bottom of the lock (not the back) on every turn. When your stick tilts toward the bottom of the lock (toward the Master Lock words), that's your set number. Do that for the other three and follow Uncle Fjester's instruction. Thank you.
Thank you for the information/ training. I work a lot within property management industry and having this knowledge definitely helped with a lock box that a client jacked up. They tried to change it to their own code. Thanks again.
Excellent tutorial! I have an older version that doesn’t have the word “lock” under “Master.” It only took two number rolls instead of three after identifying the low spot. Now, instead of hiding my key inside, I’m planning to place a treasure hunt map with riddles leading to where I’ll actually hide the key. LOL.
thank you so much there was another tutorial using the same method but you gave way more deatail as to the angle the shim is supposed to as well as how deep to expect it to drop i finally got my lock open with this thanks so much again
Thanks for this! Finally got that stupid lockbox opened on my house. Original owners put a lockbox on the door frame, people I bought it from didn't know the combo. This worked like a charm. Took me longer to drink the soda and make the tool than it did to open it up. Though mine was the style that bolts to a wall, not a padlock style, locking mechanism is obviously the same. Real combo was exactly three higher than where the wheels line up. Was thinking of changing the combo, and actually using it-- but given how easy it is to defeat, maybe a hidden fake rock is better.
Make sure to watch the entire video, l paused the video before he told you to ad 3 numbers to get the correct code. Thanks for making the video, saved two locks from ending up in the trash. Keep up the great videos.
Hey man, tks for your knowledge. I only have a issue... which is the measurement of the instrument because I cant open it... even I don’t really sure in what point make “click” tks in advance
big thanks, I'd watched 3 or 4 videos before this one but was left not really sure what I was looking for in terms of feedback. The keys inside had spares so it was never a big issue, but now I can actually use this dang thing again instead of having to buy another one.
I feel like a badass!!! I just cracked the code to my lockbox for the Airbnb I run. Someone changed it and I couldn't get in it by thanks to you I was able to get in! Thank you sooooo much!
Thanks, had one when I was a Realtor. Just found it again and of course did not remember combo. It took me longer to make the tool, out of a beer can, than to pick the lock.
This is awesome I accidentally scrambled my combination on reset and locked the door then I didn't know what the code was I tried some of the other methods I saw same Idea but with a thin piece of plastic but couldn't figure it out but I got it with this one. Thank you
Going to fabricate a shim, first i have to drink a diet coke, then going into battle. Will time it and see how long it takes for a first time lock-picker, I almost cut off the box, but now glad i didn't yet. In fact, have an extra one on a whole door handle i removed last year too. Great video, i am confident this will work !
Awesome video. Tried brute force tactic only to give up half way. After watching your video I unlocked it, only to realize I had already tried the combination doing brute force and somehow didn't line up properly the numbers so I had skipped it! Thanks a million!
Beer can works like a charm...😎 But I held the shim till I felt the resistance give instead of waitin 4 the shim 2 stop vibrating on every turn of the dial.

Any tip that helps get this open! ThankQ
LOL.
*Thats Great!* 🤣
thank you so much there was another tutorial using the same method but you gave way more deatail as to the angle the shim is supposed to as well as how deep to expect it to drop i finally got my lock open with this thanks so much again
You are a life saver! Well done, this helped me a lot! Greetings from Germany.
Danke furs zuschauen
Your system worked perfectly - saved a whole load of time going through each number - although I did start that way.
The shim. 🙇♂️🙌 All the other pro videos have fancy tools. This! Thank you ‼️
Lite Beer Cans work too!🤣
Thanks! Took a minute or two to get the feel, then Voila!! Really appreciate it!
You are too kind! Thank you very much. I’m glad it helped.
You are amazing!!! I tried a couple other tutorials and yours actually worked! Thank you so much!
Great to hear!
This instruction was great. Got it open in 15 min.
Just picked my first lock!! Thank you this will be my new hobby since guns ammo cost to much!
get you an eBike
Worked perfectly first time around. Thank you!
Make sure to watch the entire video, l paused the video before he told you to ad 3 numbers to get the correct code. Thanks for making the video, saved two locks from ending up in the trash.
Keep up the great videos.
Awesome!
Nice tutorial watch till end. Definitely have to move the tumblers 3 more times.
I watched about 10 videos before I got to yours and u finally helped me open my own lock. I am truly grateful for u❤❤ thank u kind stranger 😊
Glad I could help
Works as advertised , took a few tries but got it open. Amazing!
OMG! I watched a few videos, and this one got it open. Thanks!
I feel like a badass!!! I just cracked the code to my lockbox for the Airbnb I run. Someone changed it and I couldn't get in it by thanks to you I was able to get in! Thank you sooooo much!
Nice trick it worked for me in 10 minutes with a ABUS keyholder box that i did not know the cobination of! Thanks.
Thanks, had one when I was a Realtor. Just found it again and of course did not remember combo. It took me longer to make the tool, out of a beer can, than to pick the lock.
You have learned well, grasshopper...
Lol. Same experience except I made my key from an old box cutter casing
This is awesome I accidentally scrambled my combination on reset and locked the door then I didn't know what the code was I tried some of the other methods I saw same Idea but with a thin piece of plastic but couldn't figure it out but I got it with this one. Thank you
You are Welcome, Nice bike
Normally not a fan of these videos. Gave it a try and worked on 1st attempt. Impressive
Bingo. Have a handful of these things over the years and now got em all dialed in again w a number I'll remember. Thanks!
Thanks for doing this video! It worked like a champ. It only took me 10 or 15 minutes to get the feel for it and Shazam it opened.
Glad it helped!
Please reply with your Opening time.
Awesome video.
Tried brute force tactic only to give up half way. After watching your video I unlocked it, only to realize I had already tried the combination doing brute force and somehow didn't line up properly the numbers so I had skipped it! Thanks a million!
A Million Welcomes!
I came for the lock picking, I stayed for the voice.
Please Subscribe! I use my voice a lot!
Very useful it worked 100% thanks
Uncle Fjester thank you so much for this video you helped me a lot
Great tutorial, worked like a charm in a few minutes. Thanks!
Beer can works like a charm...😎 But I held the shim till I felt the resistance give instead of waitin 4 the shim 2 stop vibrating on every turn of the dial.
Coke Cans don't Vibrate...JK
Worked perfectly!! ThNks for the help!
Wow! Thanks a lot! Took me less than 10 minutes after watching. Excellent video!
