It worked! Realtor left their lockbox on our new home and was taking forever to come take it off. Several tries with a plastic 'shim' along the lines of your metal one, and I got the combination! Took maybe 10-15 minutes as this was my first time ever. Thanks so much.
You legit just saved me SO much money. I keep a spare house key in a lock box for emergency situations (I lock my keys inside constantly). I changed my code thinking I’m savvy. After a bad experience allowing someone on Rover to use it while I’m out of town. So, I changed it to a random set of numbers. Never wrote it down, and then absolutely forgot it. You not only taught me a nifty trick, but a wallet saving one at that. Like $100+ dollars. YOURE THE BEST, thank you!!!
Really good. I really appreciate how you just show what you know. No flying intro logos, dumb music, or self-ingratiating dialog for your “show”. Just good, honest, clear info. That’s refereeing. So many instructional vids are smeared with really bad “look-at-me-mommy” trash. This vid is a gem.
This was the one. After watching 4 different videos on how to open this lock with a coke can shim, you showed me exactly how to do it. Thanks for being clear and concise while still covering all the contingencies (my shim also went "down" first before it found the right number).
Excellent tutorial! I work as a handyman - a homeowner contacted me because they had forgotten the combination they set their lockbox to. I watched 3 different vids about opening this particular model or style of lockbox and yours turned out to be the one from which I was able to achieve success. You include all the necessary information to make it possible for a first timer to achieve the desired outcome.
IT WORKED! IT WORKED! IT WORKED! That’s me shouting it worked. Thank god and thank YOU! It was a very subtle uptick of the metal strip and I really thought it wouldn’t work but first time. I had visions of myself working through the millions of combinations in the dark….Two other methods on 2 other videos did not work at all for me. Huuuge THANKS 😊
This worked great! Contractor left the box on my door and asked him several times to come take it off. Cut a soda can for a shim and took me about 30 minutes until I got the feel for it. Thanks!
Bought a house 2 years ago and this lock was in the garage. I contemplated going through a few hundred numbers every once in a while but I got this open within 5 minutes. Thank you!
This actually worked! As someone who has no experience with locks I got confused resetting the combo at my work for our office keys and accidentally set the combo as a random number. This took me a few tries but I got it open!
By far the best method of all that I viewed. Thank you! Now I have a Lock I can use again 🙂Oh, I doubled the aluminum sliver thickness to make it more rigid and it worked great.
Thanks man, that was the one! My colleague just came in with one of these key boxes he locked a few weeks ago and didn't remember, challenge accepted. Took a piece of soda can, worked the second try but I had to go two numbers down instead of one.
It took a while, but it worked!!! Bought the box at a yard sale for $1 so well worth the time. The first 3 numbers were easier to get, so I just kept changing the last number until it clicked open. Only took 2 tries! Thank you!!!
Started working in a community for a builder where 3 agents had been before. Had 3 lockboxes there that nobody knew the combination to. Took a minute to get the hang of it, but I literally just unlocked all 3 with this method. This is both awesome (because it worked) and terrible (because it tells me how shoddy these locks are). Great info and great video, thank you very much!!
For anyone that this isn't working for, make sure you feel the "down" before you get to the right number. If you don't feel the down, then the shim may not be in exactly the right place back in the inside of the lock and any "ups" you feel won't necessarily indicate that you've found the correct number. If you feel an up without having felt a preceding down, make note of that number and go around again -- if you have found the right number then your shim will now be aligned in the correct place back inside the lock and now and you will feel 1 or 2 downs in the numbers immediately preceding your correct number as you come around. If this doesn't work, and you go all the way around without feeling a down, just reinsert the shim and try again until you do -- ultimately after you feel the down, the shim should be at greater than a 90 degree angle relative to the lockbox, measuring from the combination side.
Simply the best Master Lock picking video on TH-cam. I had to go down 2 sets of numbers to make it work. Finally my lockbox is opened. Thanks for the awesome and easy-to-follow video. 😊
I got one of these locks for free from a bin store. After months of trying to unlock it myself. I found this video and it worked wonderfully, thanks a bunch
THANK YOU! Finally got this old lock box open. Had to move each number 2 spaces to get the lever to open. Took me longer than I care to admit…but it worked!!!!!!!
Like a typical dude, I didn't have a soda can handy so I tried to use drywall corner reinforcement as my shim material. The method didn't work. Found a can, the aluminum is much thinner and more sensitive. Worked perfectly. Follow this man's directions to the letter. Thanks!
This was very helpful. I had several lock boxes, and I thought I was going to have to throw out. I was able to open them pretty quickly and reset them. Thank you
Thank you!!! I was in panic mode because I moved things around and unintentionally did a reset on the box outside one of our rental units. I watched two other videos and tried multiple times without success. Your video was very detailed, and assumed no prior knowledge of any part of the process. Specifically, showing how to make the shim, mentioning to insert it until it stopped, barely resting my finger on it, and feeling it moving down and then back up were the parts that helped me. I moved each number down two times and it opened. I only had to go through your steps one time and it opened. As a current English teacher, you could definitely go into teaching (if you want to be poor, stressed, and overworked lol). BTW, mine was the wall mount model and is approximately 3 years old.
I'd been staring at this Master Lock box for over a year since purchasing our condo and subsequent fire, rebuild, and finally I saw this video. By minute 5, I had it opened. Feel like a "master safe cracker" now, bit of a rush!
Thank you so musch for this. I watched others and they didnt include the last bit about turn the numbers one more click. Ive spent days thinking I couldnt feel the right thing. With yours ive got it in 5 minutes. 🎉🎉
Bro it worked! Thanks, it took a few tries and i forgot to push them down by a number at the end then rewatched the video and got it! The realtors never came to take the thing after months!
I tried this on our rental lock box because we forgot our code during the first set up. And it did work!!! Thank you so much for the video and tip. Amazing! 🫶🏻🙌🏻
Worked like a charm, almost. Instead of rolling the tumblers up one digit, I moved them down. I also used a piece of venetian blind instead of a soda can, but only because it was in a heap of crap right next to the door with the lock box on it. Tip: you really dont need scissors to cut a can or in my case, the venetian blind. CAREFULLY bend the piece about 3/16ths back from the edge. Fold it as tight as you can then unfold it. If it doesnt break off by then, do it again. I'll add this too. As easy as it was to pull out my phone, go to "picking a lock box" on youtube, and watching this video, Im not sure I want it now. It was as simple as that.
Brilliant video, builders left a key safe on my property, I nearly took a hammer to it, but saw this help and I open safe in a minute. I used a lid from tin of tomatoes cut as instructed on the video , and after 2 attempts I got it open. Scary to think how easy it was, you think master locks would change design.
Bought my home two years ago but the sellers forgot the combination to the box attached to the garage. I did need some WD-40 to get the wheels to spin smooth enough for me to discern the movement vs the force needed to turn sticky wheels. However, once that was done, I was able to open and reset the combination. Thanks. While I had seen a few videos saying much the same thing, the piece that ultimately helped was the downward movement the turn before the upward movement. The downward movement was easier to identify as a real downward movement and not merely the shim bending or error by my fingers.
As a not handy person, after 60 times try, i finally nailed it using a soda shim. One important suggestion for the doers, make sure you use a tooth brush and soap to clean up the number rolls. The stickiness of the rolls will reduce the “click” of the right number. It took me 60 try to figure out to unlock the 1 master lock and took me 2 try to pick up the 2nd lockbox.
Wow, it works!!! I've had a Master lock box in my junk drawer for 15 years. My wife and I have tried every 4-digit PIN in our personal memory banks with no luck. Ok. I had to leave a comment and like your vid! Not only did this content present better and more convenient than others on the subject, I did it on the second try! (had to get used to the movement and what "up" felt like in this case.) I am a woman which means I have nails...and that worked on my behalf!! Convenience was having NOT to buy a shim, but using what I already had around the house. I used a soda can shim as per your instructions and some tweezers to move the numbers up and down. @@LockandKilo i watched a few vids. Your's was the most helpful. Slow & methodical. I did step by step how you showed and opened my lockbox I thought I'd have to throw away because I forgot the combo. Loved & love 💘 to you
This instruction is very good. I carefully follow his instruction. I successfully unblock my comb lock just use a soda can for the tool. I recommend to spray some WD40 to loosen the lock.
Thanks for the video. I had to open an unbranded (Biltema 87-701) lockbox very similar to this. I couldn't get these instructions to work but with a little variation it was open. From zero down to 1 when there is a definite drop, the correct number is current one +2
Same here, my correct number was +2 as well. I wonder if it’s a different version? but I tried it on 2 different branded boxes, but both were 2+, instead of 1+ like they video.
This sort of worked. I was able to find the right alignment but had to rotate each number two clicks instead of one. Maybe a different variation of the lock. Thanks
I have heard a couple of people say their model had to be rotated 2 or 3 numbers up, the ones I have come across I normally only have to scroll once, sometimes you'll feel gates in different points tho. I come across these every so often and they do have variations of this specific model. I have another video with a Brinks combo lock that has to be scrolled 5 times lol - Kilo

This is the 2nd Master Lock key box I have purchased in the last 2 days that was incredibly easy to unlock without a combination. I am a bit surprised at Masterlock for designing these locks with such vulnerabilities. I need to start doing some research before making another purchase.
Combination locks in general always have vulnerabilities. They should be used more for convenience than security. This type I always recommend owners hide it somewhere out of sight, behind shrubs on a spicket or in the back yard attached to something solid out of view.

haha this worked! Had an old lockbox from a contractor that we didn't really want to contact again. I found that my shim went down on the first dial, so I just did that for them all and bingo .. just a few turns on each and no more lockbox on my downstairs patio door.
So I used one I know the combo and tried it out, and the number I got was 2 spots down from the right number. So instead of going down 1 spot, I went down 2 spots, and voila!! Got it opened.
Thanks babes I'm disabled in a wheelchair the box is high up so I was hoping it would be simple to open that i can manage to do it my self and it looks easy enough to do my self so will try it

Exactly! And let's face it, home and office door locks can also be picked fairly easily.
This is clear enough to catch👍🏽
Wow!! Thank you very much! You just saved my life 😂😂 I was almost crying 😅
haha this worked! Had an old lockbox from a contractor that we didn't really want to contact again. I found that my shim went down on the first dial, so I just did that for them all and bingo .. just a few turns on each and no more lockbox on my downstairs patio door.
can't believe this worked! with a lemon flavored seltzer can no less
Thank so much, it works. I have found the code for key lockbox. It was easy when I followed your instructions.
Awesome! Glad the video was helpful!
WOW!!! And here I used a metal cable tie! Dammit! 😆😆😆
Took me a few times to get the feel. Works as advertised. Thank you sir!
Thank you! Just saved me 9999 seconds of my life
Amazing. This totally works!! Thank you so much!! 😊
So I used one I know the combo and tried it out, and the number I got was 2 spots down from the right number. So instead of going down 1 spot, I went down 2 spots, and voila!! Got it opened.
Thanks babes I'm disabled in a wheelchair the box is high up so I was hoping it would be simple to open that i can manage to do it my self and it looks easy enough to do my self so will try it
This is such a life saver thankyouuu it actually worked 😭👌🏻

Worked like a treat third time trying....you have to feel it move...even just a slight bit.
just picked this exact box that had me stumped, but this video did the trick, thank you.
Best one of ALL it worked!!!
I am happy it helped! Thank you for the feedback, Gene!
Only worked on the first dial - once. Thankfully I already knew the combo.
Thank you so much brother! You definitely saved my weekend and without you I’d be in trouble! I liked and subscribed! Great teachings!!
