I use HOAT antifreeze in my 2012 chrysler 200 sport 3.6 engine. I am thinking i should use the OAT instead to get rid of the silica.

How long did this operation take?

Not exactly sure since I have worked on a ton of cars since then. Probably about 2.5hrs. Most of the time was spent on flushing the system. This guys core was so stopped up it wouldn’t even flow air through it hardly.

Is there a difference between the model your working on and the limited convertible's setup?

That I’m not sure about. I didn’t know they even built a convertible model. I wouldn’t think that there would be much of a difference between the models at the heater core area.

@@JEEPERDUDE98 There have been a mass of unexpected differences I've come across since buying this thing. Mostly trim and interior parts but trying to fit aftermarket speakers (among other things) has been a nightmare.

@@lvchilders8622 yeah sounds like it is quite a bit different then. This one is a customer car, I have put 2-3 hvac actuators in it. One worked the hot and cold and the other worked the panel for vents and now it has one that’s bad again. This time for the recirculate function 🤦‍♂️. The shifter linkage popped off and I had to fix that, took some searching for the right part. The alternator went out with less than 100,000 miles on it. Which wasn’t the easiest job it requires dropping the a/c compressor out of the way. The exhaust manifold has a major crack in it where the Egr tube runs into it.

Couldn't you use compression fittings like used on copper pipe instead of hoses? I am sure you could if done right, and the diameter matches the core pipe diameter...

Yeah I guess so if you can get them in that big of a size. I’m sure they make something aftermarket maybe. Hoses work better for the tight area it’s in.
