And 3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9. Rebuilding those wheels is a PITA. Even most renowned companies won't do it for you. Your best chance is to replace the spokes one by one, but you will miss the possibility to restore the rim and hub.
@@dutchsailor6620 I'm in the progress of rebuilding a set of wheels for my K1200 build. I'll upload a episode soon on how to rebuild them including the rims and hubs
@@corner.customAll information is very welcome. I have some R1100GS wheels laying that need a lot of TLC but I have no idea were to start with these wheels. I did lace some traditional wheels but this is another cup of tea.
@@dutchsailor6620 Yeah I feel you, it was a PITA to find out how the spokes needed to be taken out. Like always when you know the trick it was pretty easy. I'll send out the wheels next week to get them spoked and then I can put out the new video
It's interesting to see how those spokes work, but I don't see what keeps them from turning when you tighten the nuts. The spokes are long, thin, bolts. The "heads" of the spokes/bolts have no shoulders to keep them from turning like normal bolt heads have. The heads are flared a little, so they don't come through the holes in the rim, but they're just round. That doesn't seem to me to be enough to stop them from turning.
This is very interesting and helpful. I want to send my wheels off to be refurbished and I can save a lot of money removing the spokes myself.
Where is episode 2????
