Saw the trailer and a preview for the Movie in IMAX, and its of the charts I have been a fan of the Books since I was a teenager. As soon the first shot opened It took me right there on planet Arrakis also known as DUNE, it was exactly like I imagined it when I first read the books. Dennis honors the legacy and truly what he has accomplished is almost unbelievable. The scope and scale of the Movie spans the Universe and every frame is a Painting I was overwhelmed. MUST BEE SEEN ON IMAX AT THE LARGEST SCREEN POSSIBLE, everything less is a crime

I highly suggest you read the book. When I say it is quite possibly the best piece of science fiction ever written, I'm not exaggerating. I enjoy Sci-Fi in all its forms, even the corny crap, but this...Dune...is an awakening. It'll take you places you didn't know existed...within yourself. No BS. No hyperbole. It is a must read!!

There was actually an IMAX special fan event were they showed the first 10 minutes, some behind the scenes, an extra scene, and the trailer, for the fans for free. Everyone who saw it was absolutely blown away and as a long time fan of DUNE this trailer was magnificent. Chills. It captures the world and depth perfectly. It’s gonna be a decade defining event!
The blue hue to their eyes is from spice saturation. It’s in the air everywhere. These blue eyes WAY predate white walkers.

House Atreides Vs. House Stark: These houses provide our main heroic protagonists most of the time. Both are presented as classically 'honourable', and flawed because of it. Leto I is willing to be a bit nasty, but his a lot of his charisma lies in his fundamental good nature, and he is unwilling to bend the rules to far. Ned Stark is even more 'lawful good' and it gets him killed. The Atreides, much like the Starks, would probably have been content to stay out of power games had they not been dragged in (and nearly ruined) by schemes of others. Both houses feature a son who is The/A Chosen One (Paul; Bran and/or Jon).
@@IndySidhu88 the only one that is remotely similar is faceless men/face dancers, the rest are just points that are common in a lot of stories and can't be said it took inspiration from dune.
@@pirualado47 man cmon. everyone knows it's balantly obvious that dune is one of the most influential si fi books ever. dune has inspired got, star wars, and as well as thousands of other si fi movies. if you've seen common things in si fi stories they probably all got inspiration from the same place, dune lol.

As someone who grew up o David Lynch’s Dune as a child, then read the books as a teenager, and finally saw the Sci-fi channel Dune mini series (my introduction to James McAvoy..epic)…I am stoked for this adaptation!!!
I heard David Lynch’s Dune wasn’t great, not only that but there was a lot of studio interference
I enjoyed the syfy dune for what it was. Tv budget was what held it back from greatness.

It's an absolute pleasure to see people who are unfamiliar with Dune get so excited about this trailer. As a huge Dune fan, I can confirm that it's every bit as exciting from our end. The fact that you all picked up on several nuances of the story conveyed in the trailer _without_ having prior knowledge of the narrative is extremely reassuring. This movie is going to be something special.
From someone who has read the book, it looks fantastic and truly looks like a proper adaption of this story! It has some heavy themes involved: religion, politics, agriculture. Herbert is an artist and the book is so beautiful!

Dune is one of my alltime favorite stories. This is the first adaptation that properly shows the scale of this story. I'm so hyped. One of the best directors out there. It's got that Hans Zimmer love on the score. It's going to be amazing in theaters. Also, they're splitting the first book into 2 movies, which is an EXCELLENT call because SO MUCH happens.
My most anticipated movie for the rest of the year. I really hope I'm able to see this baby on the bigscreen because this trailer screamed must see on the biggest screen possible and Denis Villenueve hasn't disappointed me with a movie yet.

It’s not remake of Lynch movie. It’s new adaptation of the books and will be very different from Lynch version because Lynch changed and crammed so many things. This movie will also be only half of first book, as it is wiser to divide 700+ book into 2 movies.

I love Dune. I was introduced to the universe with the miniseries from Syfy back in the early 2000s (which is better for story accuracy than the Lynch version).
But this? This has me so hyped. This is lord of the rings level hype.

2021 movies got even crazier
Book readers are hyped. It seems so book accurate that we can't believe it. Villeneuve is a big, big fan of the series. He will be faithful to the essence of the story. I was excited even to a small change that helps you to understand the relationship of the characters. Leto (father) tells Paul regarding his wish to lead and tells you everything you need to know about that character. A charismatic leader and beloved father. Only with that, your grasp who he is. I must no hype, hype is the mind-killer. Please watch it on IMAX. We need Pt.2
As a longtime Dune fan I'm hyped. I see things that are different but this looks amazing.
I became a fan of the Dune novels as a teen in the 80's...this trailer is already exceeding expectations. The film's are just not going to disappoint. Hands down.
I've read the first two Dune books, but my wife is a Dune fanatic. She's read all of them more times than she can count. And she is hyped about this. She says that everything about it so far looks and feels like Dune to her.
We'll be in the theater opening night, and probably again the next week. We have a 65” TV at home, and that's just not big enough to contain this story.
Read the book guys. Trust me. I convinced a couple of buddies in the army to read it. Neither was much into reading either. They couldn't put it down once they started. It is the sci fi masterpiece.
Fucking epic is the right expression. The "blue-on-blue" eyes are a sign of Spice intake. And Spice Melange is the most important substance in the Known Universe.
If you know the books, you'll get 10x chills. Dune isn't just epic action, enigmatic society, loyal family, brutal wars. It's interwoven visionary ideas about humans, society, religion, ecology, prediction, and resistance. It's not anthropology, but it will inspire you to think deeply about it.
3:19 has meaning as intense as those eyes. She _knows_ things. Every single one of these characters is showing up the way I'd always wanted them to as a Dune fan, but gave up on ever seeing in a movie. I'm cynical about most movies, but this is seriously happening. It's going to be so good.
The fact that denis villeneuve is directing this makes me so hyped! This is gonna be the og star wars trilogy all over again.

Ok... Went to the IMAX preview event last Wed, and Holy $#¡T!!!! They showed us the 1st 10min, a few full scenes with some behind the scenes stuff in between with actors, director, and composer Hans Zimmer talkin about creating his own instruments BEFORE they finally dropped the trailer... 😬😱💀

Love to see the first reaction of newcomers to Dune. I've been a fan since 2000 (the books mostly) and I'm hoping it will be successful! From a novel perspective, the community's pretty excited about DV and pulling this insane story off. It really is epic. Hopefully they'll get through the story about Paul's children ... cause this series sets Paul up as a hero and then asks us, do we really want such a hero in the world, who can predict everything. Gonna definitely see it in Imax and probably sub to HBOmax for a month too.
First and foremost, it's fuckin' great to see Silent Ninja join you for this, she's the best! Now to the trailer: I've been a huge sci-fi nerd all my life, so I've read all the books in the Dune series, sequels and prequels and all, multiple times. I absolutely love the visuals of everything I've seen so far, especially the shape of the crysknife and the special effects they're using for personal shields. I'm really looking forward to seeing this, especially if we get a fight scene between Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista!

Most people I know who love Dune are all super-hyped. I am especially looking forward to what they do for the fights. Not giving any surprises away, but the shimmer you see around them is a body shield with some interesting aspects on how they affect an attack and the way they appear to have taken that account is amazing.
Yeah this cast is so amazingly stacked then you realize Javier Bardem is in it as well! Must see in theater for the amazing visuals

I have been waiting to see Dune be given theater justice for 21 years (since I first read it). Theaters in my country are still closed and I am freaking out praying they open before this comes out. All the shit going on in the world and the idea of missing this on the big screen is going to ruin my year lol.
Read the books back in the day. And it is too early to say how faithful the new movie will be, but from what little one could glance, it looks good.
I haven´t found anything about the run time and i really do hope it is long, and i mean really long in the 150min range min. to even give "some" breathing room for the characters and story.

I read the books when I was much younger, saw the David Lynch movie. I am so PSYCHED for this version!!! THIS is what I have been WAITING for! You are so right, you MUST see this on the largest screen that you can! Its epic. They will be breaking this up into I believe 2 movies. The books are large with a lot of story to tell, its like Game of Thrones with all of the politics, religion and houses of different families. Its epic in scale like The Lord of The Rings books and movies. I do suggest reading the books at some point, not sure if you want to go in without being spoiled at all but even if you read them after, I highly suggest it. Can’t wait to see your reaction.

I have been playing this PC game since 1993, and it's the best strategy game I have played in my entire life, not anymore since new version of windows don't support it (what a shame). Knowing this movie is coming and watching this trailer, takes me back to when I was a teenager and knowing all the story, the only thing I regret was not reading the books back then. It's been years (too many) since the last game was release, and now with this movie, I'm a teenager again and I'll be at the theater the day of its release. I really wish they come up with a pc game again, that would be great. Keep up the good work guys, I really enjoy watching your reviews.

Am I the only person who totally believes that Denis Villeneuve NEEDS to direct a Star Wars movie, in the near future?
