This is my car ! I have this one for 1 year-ish now, my brother bought it 3 years ago, now he is driving an audi Q7. Nobody's perfect. Joking aside, as our favorite youtuber said it, this car is really really really confy and it is a pleasure to drive it, even for 2500km. So if you can, buy one (but a euro6 facelift to not be bothered with "pollution standards") and enjoy. And to be fair, I did not like BMW before, I was more an "audi fan"
F01 was most reliable car I ever had, I owned few Japanese cars, but BMW F01 730d I sold it with 520.000km on clock, only issue I had was with transmission (torque converter), other then that nothing, and its still in use by new owner. I replaced it with 750i f01, I had few problems with 4.4 v8, but still nothing that big atm :)
I've got two BMW 7 Series in our household a G11 730d X-Drive and a G12 740Le i Performance X-Drive. The full air suspension on these cars, about 100+kg lighter body etc. I suspect it will drive and be more comfortable than an F01. I agree it is aging quite well for a luxury car.
Swiss living in Maramureş, I enjoy your video, and I consider to buy a similar 740XD. Thanks for your video, and see you one day in Moldova someday. And for your answer about Rolls Royce, it’s not a driver’s car but to be sit in the rear, my driving experience wasn’t fun at all.
I want to buy as 3th car just to tow camper trailer ( i have 2 cars which are 2.0 as daily ) ,and i am thing X5 40d 2012 or BMW 740D 2012 ,for only towing and maybe few other trips. I still cant decide
im looking to buy a fully loaded 740d 2010, is there anything i particular that i should be checking before buying and which engine is the best in your opinion the 730d or the 740d . Also what is the best year to buy prefacelift ?
Most people will agree that the 730d is more reliable, less turbos less problems haha. But in my opinion maintenance is key when it comes to these cars. Try to get one that has some known history and good maintenance (early oil changes etc). They have also been known to develop guide chaine issues over time. This is quite a well known issue but can be fixed pretty easily, although it's rather costly. Last but not least, I d buy anything 2011-12+ to get the 8hp gearbox. Don't get one like a 730d 2010 cause they still have the old 6hp gearbox which is far less reliable and worse in every situation (fuel economy, performance, smoothness). I hope I helped you a lil bit and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate 👌🏼
N54b30 or n55, the n54 powered variant has a solid block, no timing problems nothing but the seals on everything around it will wear out causing oil leaks, nothing to expensive. The high pressure fuel pump may fail at one point thats a more expensive fix. Turbos maybe cause trouble thats a 4 digit problem. Also the water pump might go out. Transmission is pretty solid, so is the rest of the car. N55 has only one turbo to worry about but has more common rod bearing failure. Good pick overall
Congratulations on your purchase! The 750i is an amazing car! As far as maintenance goes, I am a lil bit less aware of the 4.4 V8 engine musts. I know it doesn't appreciate mods first and foremost. I d say fresh oil every 10.000km would go a long way in keeper everything well lubed up. Pay attention to the turbos and obviously the infamous bmw plastic chaine guides and rode bearings. Otherwise if it hasn't been abused to much by its pst owner(s) the car should serve you well 🙏🏼 Also don't forget to maintain the gearbox too. Change the oil and filter every 60-80.000km to keep it shifting smoothly and flawlessly 👌🏼 Speakers wise, depends on what's optioned on your particular car, anything from Pro Logic 7 to Harman Kardon, B&W etc. A simple vin check should put you on the right path to finding it 😁
@TheEuroCarShow Thank you for replying and for the awesome advice 👏🏽, I will keep all of that in mind, I'm picking up the car next Thursday and will be treating it like my child, best regards. 😄 (Edit: I don't plan on adding modifications until I've replaced every major and minor component)
how did you install white daylights? They are obviously led, but when I tried, they (leds) don't work- the system seems to recognize the lower consumption.
Literally a 5mins job. Bought the kit (bulbs and adapter) from a local car parts store in Romania (Pitesti) and installed it. No error messages and they ve been on for 3 years now 😁
As a owner of 14' 740xd i can say its prety good for maintance (oil , filters , brakes etc.) ,but you should consider another thing , the big maintance on ~200k km , chains , engine bearings etc. , the car its really good , but it needs precise maintancing and good parts ( the OEM ones or the high quality replacements) , for example when i bought mine it was exacly on the stage for that type of maintance so i had options from private mechanics and BMW , the price range is starting for as low as 3000 euro to 6000 euro in BMW. Also to mention that in this is included testing of the biturbo system for wearing , dpf , cat , High Pressure Fuel Pump ( its sayd that arround 200k km it starts to have issues that can be really pricy). But in the end its a perfect car for its value because its giving both comfort and dynamics.
i have a 2012 xdrive facelifft, and aside for regular oil and filter changes every 10k , nothing. i got mine tuned in bmw, and it burns 6.5 liters only :) highway 4.5. amazing car.

Hi! I'd be inclined to say X5 for towing but then again it's the same powertrain overall and the 7 series is way way more comfy!
@@TheEuroCarShow at first i wanted x5 but after watching youtube videos 740 look more interesting ,prices are more or less the same in my country

Im planing to buy 2009 bmw 730ld. Ok? Im buying from bmw premium selections
Yeah they are great cars 👌🏼 Enjoy your purchase!
I search the same car honestly
bro, how much this car is eating money per year ?
Aside from the classic oil change and filters, not much really. Even fuel wise, tje car is economical enough for its size and power output 👌🏼
