I got the ZVE1 2 days now it’s crazy I got an issue with overheating at 10 mins only using the menu…. I was scared because I didn’t even record. So after 5 min I Did a video test an the zve1 did. straight 1 hour an 30 minutes without any issues. I will never take long videos like this straight so it will be fine for me. The zve1 is crazy for run and gun in my opinion!
I can attest to this test because i also have fx30 and have adapted lens and sony kit lens. And footage shot with sony lens has better stabilization than the adapted or third party lens.
Hi Oleg, nice vid as always. I sold my Sony a7siii as I got a blinding deal which I could not refuse, meaning I lost no money on it. I then started regretting my decision to sell it, but could not get myself to spend all that money on it again as I have a sneaky feeling a7siv will land in not too distant future. So, after some research I bought zv-e1 from Amazon Warehouse as a stop-gap solution and got an absolute sweet deal. I have to say I had that familiar a7siii feeling when I’ve seen its output for the first time, which I missed so much in the first place. Excellent little camera coupled with the same Smallrig cage as you have.
this is the best comparaison on youtube! for travel do you recommend the ZVE1 or the lumix S5ii? the advantage of the S5ii is better pictures and mechanical shutter, fan for overheating but has a crop at 4K 60 the ZVE1 has no crop but does overheat and has no mech shutter and no flash compatibility
Seeings how I have the OG ZV E10, and a6700, my choice would be the FX30 because of the built in fan, and where I will be relocating later this month………..the fan will come in handy. Great video, my man.
Great comparison! No doubt that for commercial work the FX30 is a must. 2 card slots and the fan compensate for its drawbacks. I’m happy with mine and pairing it to the Sigma trio apcs lenses, low light is still manageable. The ZV-E1 of course is miles ahead in the low light department, compact and it captures great video. However, cost effective I think the FX30 is the best option money can buy and not to mention that apcs lenses cost a fraction compared to the G Master and best of you can still use FF lenses or rent them. I guess the decision will be based on the need. Even for TH-cam the FX30 can be an excellent choice. In a controlled environment, with proper lighting and exposure settings I don’t see a need for full frame and if ever you want to shoot a wedding you can. Again, great comparison. Sony should marry the fX30 with the ZV-E1 and have a baby with dual cards slots, great sensor, and of course a fan keeping it around the same price. But of course that’s wishful thinking. 😂
Thank you! I've been leaning towards your opinion and choosing your video over others. It always feels like you genuinely believe in what you say not a sponsored or paid version ;) keep going and make great content
Great video!! May I ask, if I want to have a travel video camera that’s compact so I’ll want to use it but also film 1 hour long podcast videos what Sony body do you recommend
Great vídeo man, when using the 3rd party lenses no the Zve1 did you manually choose the focal lens On the camera? I am asking because I am using my 18-35 sigma and my old canon ET 10-18 in the Zve1 and my videos using dinâmica active stabilization were shaky at first like yours, until I figured out that you have to choose manually the focal lens on the camera to match the focal lens of your lens, and then it work perfectly, no more shaky footage.
I have a zve1 should I buy another zve1 or should I buy an fx30. I don’t film professionally, mainly for content creation. But I do long format style videos talking heads and lifestyle footage. I’ve never had a problem with overheating and I need another camera
I’d get another zv-e1 I guess, if you don’t have any issues with overheating in your scenarios. I think the resell value will be more or less the same))
Thanks mate) I didn’t use the s5ii, but as far as I saw in reviews - great image quality) the thing is that if you upgrade to s5ii you need to fully change the lenses that you have) that’s what could have stopped me from picking a different system
Likewise, back in 2012 our Italian drivers car (which he stupidly parked on a dark side street) was broken into and all our gear stolen. The gear could be replaced but not all the footage we previously gathered! A real bummer. Filed a police report of course and fortunately with my home owners insurance I was able to replace most of the gear. However, the project was dramatically impacted. Briefly, what were your circumstances?
That sucks mate… glad you could replace most of the gear fast. Here are the details about our situation: My 10K$ photo gear backpack was stolen… th-cam.com/video/1lwjc5T3Ez4/w-d-xo.html
@@NOlimitsON FX30 is unique and could be considered one of the best APSC video centric camera, hence the price point. Similarly, flagship full-frame cameras cost significantly higher than low-mid entry level full-frame cameras. Still, we don't compare them to Red, Mavo or Arri, isn't it? They're all just made different. About lens, I think we all know the pro/cons between full frame and APSC lenses, also with third party adaptability. I'm more interested with APSC alternatives from other manufacturers compared to FX30. I'm assuming people that buy APSC cameras already know what they're getting into.
I think something is wrong with your cameras, I have a fx30 and just tested it out and I've been using Sigma/Viltrox lenses and have the same stabilization. It definitely does not shake even as close to dramatic as yours.
@@NOlimitsON There's so many creators out there doing stabilization test with 3rd party lens, and yours is the only that shows such a huge dramatic shake.
@@NOlimitsON I mean, I have both zv-e1 and fx30 and it's not as dramatic as you show. It just looks like you've turned off active stab when you film on 3rd party lens, the amount of shake does not make sense..
Which camera would you pick and why?

Wow! I happen to have the setup you mentioned. I have an FX30 and a ZV-E1. I also have an A6700 as a primary photo camera and a backup video camera
Cool mate))
I can attest to this test because i also have fx30 and have adapted lens and sony kit lens. And footage shot with sony lens has better stabilization than the adapted or third party lens.
The one more thing is the zve1 is a full frame the lenses are more expensive then for the FX30.

wow thats a big detailed comparaison .thanks for your efforts . zve1 + sony 20-70mm seems like a killer combination
Thanks mate) appreciate it! Stay tuned)
Amazing review and comparison. I've seen them all, and this is probably one of the best overall - great effort!
Thanks mate! I appreciate it! Stay tuned 😎

the ZVE1 has no crop but does overheat and has no mech shutter and no flash compatibility
Thanks a lot) if you do both photo and video (especially with a flash) and go to superhot places - Panasonic makes more sense
Finally a no BS comparison.

I’d say the zv-e1 is more suitable) as you saw from the overheating tests - it’s not a big issue on the latest firmware)
Thank you)
@@NOlimitsONyea makes sense! Do you like the zve1 over a7cII?

Yes, when you set the stabilization focal length manually - you get better results, but with zoom lenses it’s quiet a pain
I’m curious why you compared the ZV-E1 to fx30? Why not compare it to the fx3? They share the same sensor. Is it because of similar price points?
Cause of the price and my own curiosity)
I Love my small ZVE1 although I have the bigger Fx6 😅

I see both priced at roughly $15-1600 at the moment
Also which do you think will have better resell value in 1-2 years, at roughly what price?
Very new to cameras
I’d get another zv-e1 I guess, if you don’t have any issues with overheating in your scenarios. I think the resell value will be more or less the same))
Best review, as a owner of Fx30, i am trying to upgrade to zv-e1 or Lumix S5ii. What are your thoughts on Panasonic S5ii vs fx30 image quality

Zv-e1

Hello, Thank you for your advices 💯🙏🏾👍 I own the ZV E1 with 20-70mm. But, I would buy the 16-35mm PZ because It is wider. What is your advice ? 🙏🏾
Thanks) I wouldn’t change the 20-70 f4 to 16-35 pz 😉

I don't get why people and reviewers always pit FX30 against full frame cameras. What's the point?
Sony pricing is the point)) especially expensive native apsc Sony lenses
