One thing I will say is: Mini coopers were sold as Morris cars called a "Morris Mini" and the Dynasty does look similar to the Morris Oxford 3. This could be why Rockstar named it Weeny
Yeah could be a combo of Austin/Morris. I would be down for an Austin Alegro or Austin 1800 in GTA. A Morris Minor would be fun if there's oppurtunity to turn it into a hot rod.
I'd argue that while the Intruder takes the headlights off of Infiniti models, it feels a lot more like a Lexus LS430/Toyota Celsior which makes it home at Karin. As for the Subaru models, Toyota owns a sizable share in Fuji Heavy Industries (who owns manufactures Subarus) which is why they're put under Karin. The Sultan is primarily based on the Altezza anyway, with bits and pieces of Lancer and the Impreza thrown in, while the classic mixes all the 90s Imprezas and Lancers. The Kuruma has the body shape, wing, and hood of a VA WRX STi but it takes the headlights, front bumper, and taillights off of an Evo X so I'd say it belongs as a modern iteration of Sultan. I think a similar case with Subarus under Karin is the Fiats under Grotti where Fiat had owned shares in Ferrari. As for the Stallion, it's supposed to be a Classique (it already has the badges and was branded as such in GTA IV), though you could argue the Sabre Turbo has enough Chevelle to belong under the game's Chevy brand. With utes being much more popular in Australia, i get why they put the Picador under Cheval as opposed to Declasse. I also think I get where they were going when they put Lotus cars under Ocelot. If you switch the syllables in Lotus, it sounds close to Ocelot. As for stuff there's basically 0 explanation for, there's literally no reason for them to have not made a new Italian brand as opposed to just shoveling stuff into Lampadati when they were able to create both Toundra and Penaud as separate brands without any problem. I also don't understand the two Supra-based Jesters not being Karin badged just because the NSX-based Jester is a Dinka, when they were able to make the Virgo Classic a Dundreary and the Virgo an Albany.
the albany hermes is based off the hudson hornet(like the one from Cars). Theres no brand so they decided to put it in albany. This is done with a lot of cars, were they are just added to another similar car brand.
I used to think the picador and the Marshall was a el Camino but looking at it closer I think it looks a little more like a Holden Ute, the original sultan also looks identical to a first gen Lexus is
In the case of Grotti, I know why, Fiat is the Owner of Ferrari as a whole brand and Pininfarina being the dwsigner of various Ferrari models. Now Imponte at least with the deluxo, has to be with John Delorean woeking for GM and designing the Firebird Trans-Am and the Pontiac "Tempest LeMans" GTO. For the Osiris it has to be with Horacio Pagani being a Lamborghini Worker back in the day before creating his brand and well some lambos are Italdesign well... designed. The Dynasty is a Morris Minor I think, so it makes sense, Minis were made as "Morris Mini 1000" before splitting into Marcos, Mini, MG, and Morris.
Thank you for making this video, I always noticed some of these but I felt it was too niche for anyone to care about but the fact you made a whole video about is amazing. Truly shows the passion for cars
Some of these I disagree about though. Minivan seems more like a Ford Freestar/ Windstar, and the Bravado vans like the Paradise seem more like a Chevy Express rather than a ford E series
I may be wrong but i think Annis is supposed to be a combination of both Nissan and Mazda, it explains how the manufacturer’s logo as seen on the ZR350, resembles the Mazda logo seen on the RX-7, now of course much more of Annis’s vehicles resemble Nissans than they do Mazdas, such as the Elegy RH8, Elegy Retro Custom, ZR380, Euros, Remus, 190Z, etc etc, but it’s safe to say there’s a little bit of Mazda in Annis, the Savestra and RE7B gotta count for something
The Sultan (my favorite GTA car), in my opinion, more closely resembles a cross between a Gen 1 IS300/Altezza and an Evo V, and maybe even some E46 (the taillights especially, though the engine sound is most certainly the sound of a stock M54, the power plant of an E46). Definitely not a Subie IMO. The Intruder being a Karin and not a Fathom could be justified/excused by it's strong resemblance to the Toyota JZX90. The Infiniti is not it's sole inspiration, though definitely one of the main ones. (Btw this could potentially be a Fathom in GTA 6 based on some slightly speculative evidence from the trailer, though it could be a new car based on the same models as the Intruder, mostly the LS430) I don't see how the Marshall could be based on a different car from the Picador, because it's pretty much literally the exact same model as the Picador just slapped onto a monster truck frame. It's certainly still an El Camino (to me it looks more like a cross between a '68 and an '82). While the Stratum is mostly based on the Accord Wagon, the entire front clip of the car is very clearly an R33 as well. I love the Stratum. Other than those few comments/gripes, I agree. Cheval was probably supposed to be a modern version of Chevy as the Surge is a Volt and the Fugitive is a Chevrolet Impala or maybe an SS. Personally I’m not really seeing the Holden link.
The Fugitive is based on the Holden Commodore. Not an Impala. As you said, it could be the Chevrolet SS, but that car is just the Chevrolet badged Holden Commodore. They are the same car.

@@Buckacherz Your initial theory about Cheval being Holden is correct, not sure why it's being seen as a stretch. The Taipan is named after a famous snake and helicopter both from Australia. The Cheval logo is also a reference to how Holden used to make saddles
For Annis, the ZR-350 could have also been on the list - also a Mazda. Although I think it’s intentional and they didn’t want to make a whole seperate brand for 1, later 2 cars. For real life comparisons there would need to be a lore friendly Mazda but there are more brands where one single car from a certain brand just gets thrown into a bigger similar brand.
Yeah I mentioned that near the start however numerous of the cars in game are just in the wrong one and there’s quite a few with only one car anyway, the most recent ones being classique and penaud
Classique is wrong too. The Stallion is supposed to be a Classique car but it says it's a Declasse inspite it has a Classique logo on it. Also in GTA 4 the Huntley Sport was based on a Land Rover but they used vapid logo (Ford) while in GTA 5 they turned the Huntley into a Bentley (Enus) and Land Rover based vehicles are now Gallivanter. Anyway in GTA 6 they will probably rebrand every car and make it more loyal to their real life version. Penaud is a good example so i assume that brands like Vapid will be used for Ford cars only, Karin for Toyota etc...
Missed one which is personally the one that angers me the most as it was my first ever armoured car in GTA. The Benefactor XLS (which is based on the BMW X5) should 100% be an Ubermacht Rebla instead. It's so dissatisfying driving that car. Edit: Yeah, the front looks more like a Mercedes but my counter-point to that is that when you're driving, you'll be looking at the back of the car most of the time (which takes the most X5 cues) so I feel like my point still stands.
Yeah I think Rockstar is intentionally clumping some car brands together since Karin is consistently Toyota and Subaru, but they are choking on themselves on a lot of brands here. Love this kind of topic! Also because I'm a giganerd I spotted a few bits of inaccuracy and missing cars. I'm not gonna list all of it because it'll be a massive wall lol Hermes with the 3 holes on its hood is clearly more of a Buick Super than a Mercury Eight. Willard makes more sense. The Lurcher by extension of the Buccaneer should be a Willard too, but Chariot also works since it's a funeral coach. Same goes for Brigham. Manana looks like a Caddy from the back, but its overall shape is more like a Buick LeSabre, so Willard work here too. Police Roadcruiser (also Esperanto from GTA IV) are more like Lincoln Continental Mark VII, so Dundreary works better. Just like Rumpo and Paradise, Youga Classic is also based on a Ford E-Series, though a much older model. Verlierer could be shrub in Maxwell since that seems like the "Hijak" of British brands already. GMC also makes their own version of Chevrolet Express called GMC Savana. They look mostly identical aside from the badge. So Brute Camper makes sense. The Pony though is the Bedford CF2, Maxwell works better. Picador, and by extension the Marshall, are actually based on the Holden HK ute if you look at their grille and b-pillar, so they make sense weirdly enough. Given the grille design, the Sabre Turbo looks more like the Buick Skylark. Which actually makes some sense since that means now we got all the badge variants in the game with Tulip for Declasse, Arbiter GT for Imponte, Stallion for Classique, and Sabre Turbo for Willard. With Rhapsody (and Schyster's Deviant) being made by AMC, Zirconium could also totally work for them too since it's based on Diamond Star Motor. Basically whatever left of AMC after Chrysler acquired them and turned them into Eagle. Plus they got like 2 cars and neither of which shouldn't even be in there lol. Stratum should be in Dinka since it's Honda Accord. Random History Lesson I guess: In the 2000s, GM tried to sell Corvettes in Europe as their own separate brand to remove any stigma associated with regular Chevrolet cars. Rockstar is, surprisingly enough, a British company, so they probably assumed this is also the case here in the United States. JoBuilt Hauler also looks like Peterbilt 352, even more so actually with the rectangular grille, so Peterbilt still work. Actually, Peterbilt and Kenworth are own by the same parent company. Kuruma in Karin is utter nonsense still it's like Rockstar forgot Maibatsu exist. But yeah the Sultan unlike Classic variants is actually based on the Toyota Altezza. Speedo actually resembles the 2003 facelift Ford E-Series, so they make sense still. That's all for now, but yeah I can go on a while with this kind of topic man. Rockstar is hella dumb at times. Would love the class version to be honest, though I don't know if you've already made that video or not.
I think you forgot the Ocelot F620, which is based on a Masserati and should be under the Lampadati brand. It's said to have influence from both a Maserati and a Jaguar, but I think it looks a lot more like the Maserati
@@Buckacherz the nightshade is a body style of a Camaro Chevy but the trans am/firebird is the Pontiac version of the exact same car model just different maker.
@@Buckacherzonly difference being the 73 firebird has a split grill while the Chevy has the open regardless tho it’s the exact same shape could just use the “can’t do exactly the same” idea and see that it’s not wrong nor is it right just how you look at it to me
I feel like Maibatsu could do with some more cars. Oppurtunity for some sort of Minivan (maybe give us the Womb as the WMB like a parody of the performance RVR models), something filling the mould of the Mitsubishi Diamante, and something filling the mold of the 3000GT (like the GTA San Andreas Super GT).
The Emperor brand only has cars based on Lexus. I think you're mistaking the Albany Emperor with the brand Emperor. The Albany Emperor and its brand Albany are based on Cadillac.
you could make a video like 100+ Cars Rockstar Named Wrong in GTA 5. a example is the brand new Benefactor Vorschlaghammer that would be better named as Admiral

i found a mistake... (very nice video btw).. The Enus doesnt only represent rolls royce and bentley, but mercedes maybach as well.. so some of the enus should actually be benefactor
like bruv they didn't make mistakes they changed it up a bit to not have to pay the licenses to use those cars in game honestly it's kinda smart to do it that way
So it's accurate to make a Dodge car into a Ford (or vice vrsa), you say? Because that's what this video is about. Most of the car manufacturers in the game are a direct parody of a certain irl manufacturer, like Vapid being an obvious parody of Ford. Yet they still have models, that are more closely based on Chevrolet, or Dodge, instead of a Ford model from the same class. R* changed some details on their cars for evading licensing issues, but most cars still closely resemble their irl counterparts. But there are cases, where R* intentionally uses wrong models and that's what this video is about, not the details.
no one's saying you said the wrong year of lincoln town car!! the one in gta 5 is an 03-11, the 98-02 was pre-facelift for the generation though, a fun fact for you, the 98-02 town car shows up on the COVER for gta liberty city stories, the red car on there, but there isn't an equivalent to it in-game. it's only depicted in artwork
was wondering if you'd bring up the Vapid Winky and say something along the lines of "it's a Willys Jeep, not a Ford", and while some may say that it is the WWII Ford built Jeep, you could say it is actually based on the 60s Ford Mutt/M151
Maxwell is Vauxhall. Maxwell on writing looks like the word Vauxhall. Plus Vauxhall is a British brand albeit being just Opel. Maxwell is a pretty British sounding name. Being from the UK myself I can confirm. Asbo means antisocial behaviour order. This is because people who drive Vauxhall Corsas which this is based on, tend to be of that nature. Young lads who meet at McDonalds car park at 3 in the morning to cause raucous. The modifications on the Asbo also reference the Max Power scenes of the early 2000s uk car scene. Where cars would have funky modifications, like big wings and oversized body kits on small cars. Like the Corsa.
No. It's actually based on the Tesla Roadster, which took the Lotus Elise as a base, but it's still its own Tesla car. It's basically like Tesla taking a car model from Lotus and making it electric, they branded it as Tesla Roadster and that, my friend, is the Coil Voltic. Because it's an electric car in the game, isn't it? So what is it based on? Tesla Roadster, thank you.
@@Croftice1 To be fair, we all know how R* do their gimmicks. They make some cars that are not electric, electric in game and some that are electric, are not electric in game
The Weeny Dynasty is based off of the Morris Oxford which makes sense to be a Weeny (the equivalent to Mini) as Morris and Mini were both in British Leyland Cars of the time. The Zirconium Stratum is based off of the Nissan Skyline. And the Vapid Minivan we could just say is a poor rendition of the Ford Windstar :p

@@Buckacherz 1960s anime TV show and manga
I hope they do
Missed one which is personally the one that angers me the most as it was my first ever armoured car in GTA.
For me it’s the contender, cmon rockstar we aren’t asking for much
The police Interceptor is made by Vapid, based on the 2013 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor
The Ambulance is made by Brute
Mhm
The Cabbie variant of the Minivan was branded as a Schyster (the Chrysler knock off) in GTA IV
Cool
And the Annis ZR350 (Or whatever the Mazda RX7 is in GTA, I know it's an Annis), you forgot to mention that
Yes I missed that one
You forgot that in the game 1969 Dodge Charger (Dukes) is a Pontiac (Imponte)
Its main base is dodge yes, but it does have some inspiration from Pontiac
Still should’ve mentioned it tho
Zirconium IS Saturn, the Stratum came before the Journey in GTA IV (and earlier in San Andreas with a similar design)
Interesting
at 0:49 they didnt do any mistakes with the Savestra being an Annis. Mazda is within Annis in GTA, theres no separate mazda brand.
But there could be
Yeah I think Rockstar is intentionally clumping some car brands together since Karin is consistently Toyota and Subaru, but they are choking on themselves on a lot of brands here. Love this kind of topic!
Also because I'm a giganerd I spotted a few bits of inaccuracy and missing cars. I'm not gonna list all of it because it'll be a massive wall lol
Hermes with the 3 holes on its hood is clearly more of a Buick Super than a Mercury Eight.
Very informative breakdown, I definitely made some mistakes
Well there's the Vapid Winky which is obviously a Jeep/Canis
Due to demand ford did manufacture over 280,000 Willy’s jeeps so that one is kind of passable
@@Buckacherz that's an interesting fact!
ngl the rumpo looks a lot more like an express than an ecoline
It may be
I think you forgot the Ocelot F620, which is based on a Masserati and should be under the Lampadati brand. It's said to have influence from both a Maserati and a Jaguar, but I think it looks a lot more like the Maserati
Interesting
The Imponte Dukes is a Dodge Charger btw
Partially
Nightshade could just be the trans am ?
They don’t even look close
Are you talking about the same car as me?
Hopefully we get some more in gta 6
5:15 the truck at the bottom right is a Freightliner lol
I’m blaming my editor
Annis is both Mazda and Nissan. The Sultan is a Toyota Altezza. Also Toyota owns %30 of subaru so it makes sense that Karin has subaru cars
That’s fair
Emperor Motors has some errors bro, Cadillac and Lexus aren't the same!
The Emperor brand only has cars based on Lexus. I think you're mistaking the Albany Emperor with the brand Emperor. The Albany Emperor and its brand Albany are based on Cadillac.
Yeah cause I mentioned these, there’s only 3 emperor motors cars and they are all not Cadillac
1:50 Is that not the same el camino picador just converted?
Similiar
you could make a video like 100+ Cars Rockstar Named Wrong in GTA 5.
a example is the brand new Benefactor Vorschlaghammer that would be better named as Admiral
That would be a good one
The Picador is both an El Camino and Holden Kingswood Ute
I guess I could see it
Let’s not forget the Ftype that’s catalogated as a Mercedes in game 💀
But the Lynx isn’t a benefactor which is Mercedes
It’s an Ocelot which is GTAs Jaguar
@@Buckacherz exactly! It makes no sense
@@Sarateacu_cascaval but the manufacturer is correct, I’m not sure what the mistake is
@@Buckacherz oh I’m talking about the Surano. It’s clearly a F-Type but in gta it’s a Benefactor which is weird
PorschE there´s an e in the end. its not porsh, its porsche. porsche even made a video on how to pronounce it properly (im easily triggered by porsh, im german)
Yeah for someone who took German for 4 years and didn’t learn a damn thing, even I knew that, then again this was recorded Thursday night so my editor could get to it Friday I was on a bit of a time crunch
Are you glad I didn’t even try to butcher Bürgerfahrzeug
I'm English and I get triggered when people pronounce Verlierer wrong 😂
Actually add the pronunciation of Renault too
Hmm. I might be the only person who caught you red handed swapping Porsche and McLaren badges at 9:08! 😂
I will be having a conversation with my editor about that one
@@Buckacherz and here I thought that was intentional as a joke! 😂
@@Buckacherzuh oh...
El Camino can be indeed holden as Holden Ute from 70s

The sultan is a lexus 💀💀
oop
i found a mistake... (very nice video btw).. The Enus doesnt only represent rolls royce and bentley, but mercedes maybach as well.. so some of the enus should actually be benefactor
That’s a good point!
You should do some type of arena war vid. Prob wont do numbers but those cars are fascinating with the shunt boost n stuff
They are pretty fun
I'm pretty sure the Stratum is based off of a mid to late 90's Subaru Legacy Wagon since it is all wheel drive.
I guess either way it’s in the wrong manufacturer anyway
@@Buckacherz very true, I never understood why they do that. Most likely a copyright thing I'm guessing.
The intruder is also a Toyota chaser
But it’s still a Karin so that’s good
You could do a video on all the messed up car generations
There’s an idea
like bruv they didn't make mistakes they changed it up a bit to not have to pay the licenses to use those cars in game honestly it's kinda smart to do it that way
I mean I don’t think they paid licenses for most of the vehicles they could still have the knock of brands be more accurate
But there are cases, where R* intentionally uses wrong models and that's what this video is about, not the details.
no one's saying you said the wrong year of lincoln town car!!
the one in gta 5 is an 03-11, the 98-02 was pre-facelift for the generation
though, a fun fact for you, the 98-02 town car shows up on the COVER for gta liberty city stories, the red car on there, but there isn't an equivalent to it in-game. it's only depicted in artwork
Interesting that’s my bad
@@Buckacherz all good! i don't blame you
The picador is a 69 el Camino, same thing for the marshall, not a 72
And the ruiner is a I roc Camaro, so it should be a declasse
Cool
7:18 actually the minivan is 2 different minivans,in 1 one is dodge,n 1 is ford n,most 2013 vehicles also are like that
Cool
Annis ZR350 is also not a Nissan, it’s a Mazda RX-7
Yeah I had that one written down along side the autarch but forgot to add them to my script. Derp I guess I make mistakes too
was wondering if you'd bring up the Vapid Winky and say something along the lines of "it's a Willys Jeep, not a Ford", and while some may say that it is the WWII Ford built Jeep, you could say it is actually based on the 60s Ford Mutt/M151
True
are we gonna ignore the fact that he hit a wolf like thing at 7:03
Yes
The logos are also more similar too
Outside of the bat mobile grotti did pretty good as both fiat and the other manufacture are good business partners with Ferrari
Yes they were very close
Ferrari could just make a Batmobile
The Voltic is also not supposed to be Tesla, it is supposed to be a Lotus Elise or Lotus Exige
It takes some inspiration yes
@@Buckacherz Also, regarding the Enus Cognoscenti, I think that is supposed to be a Mercedes as it is a Maybach (I believe it was from Mercedes)
I understand you say the rumpo and paradise are based on the Ford e series. But honestly they look like Chevy Express vans
The headlights are def e series
The speedo is a Chevy express
@@Buckacherzhow can you look at those cateye style headlights and not see they are based off Chevy express headlights
With the deluxo i think they just did that cause john delorean design some pontiacs if im not mistakeing
That’s fair I guess
The Weeny Dynasty is based off of the Morris Oxford which makes sense to be a Weeny (the equivalent to Mini) as Morris and Mini were both in British Leyland Cars of the time.
The Zirconium Stratum is based off of the Nissan Skyline.
And the Vapid Minivan we could just say is a poor rendition of the Ford Windstar :p
I definitely got the morris wrong since I never knew it was a brand but I believe the stratum being a wagon is a wagon version of the 5th gen Honda Accord
@@Buckacherz ive always associated the Stratum with a non GT-R Skyline R32, the styling of the whole car is extremely similar
This is gonna sounds stingy af but at 0:10 the brand is MINI, not MINI Cooper
Yeah, I’ve had some people get confused, so I thought I’d specify
I’ve also learnt I was wrong about the Dynasty
@@Buckacherz yeah, if I remember right the dynasty is based on the morris oxford, and morris originally developed the mini
9:05 Obey isn't flawless. The Obey Rocoto is based on a Porsche Chayenne, so it should be a Pfister, not a Obey
Though it does take a lot of inspiration from the Audi Q5
Isn't Imponte dukes more charger rather pontiac gto
Yeah I think I got inspiration and based mixed up
The salton is based on a Lexus IS300 or Toyota altezza with Evo 6 rear end idk why they didn't get a lot of the cars right maybe they are just too lazy witch we all know they are 😂
Lazy or uninformed
the furia should also be electric since pininfarina battista is electric
That would be cool tbh
