The Ukrainian war is just an excuse. There's no energy crisis in the UK, it's the rich grabbing an opportunity to get richer. The energy industry makes never seen profit from our money, now they'll pay less tax to make even more profit while help for the poorest (benefit) will be cut.
I can't believe this is happening in the 21st century UK and people are not protesting on the streets.
A quiet question: how about scrapping an unnecessary 98bn project that only ruins the countryside and upsets everyone? Oh, no, the contractors will not have their profit then...!

The £2500 cap is not a household cap on energy. It's the cap on the unit. It's the way they've spun it to make it sound like you won't pay more than £2500. But you can absolutely pay more than £2500 and people will because the wording used by the government makes everyone think they can use their energy as much as they like without exceeding £2500.

Energy Companies DO NOT own your meters. Yes you heard me right.
Let’s get out of the habit also of calling energy companies suppliers when they aren’t any such thing. There BROKERS! Selling you debt. Which is fraud.
      ABOUT ENERGY COMPANIES
Let me explain about energy companies and what they can and CANNOT do.
The electric and gas supply to the house or company cannot be cut off ever. Well, not in the UK.
The world of the movies is different. Once installed that supply of Gas or Elec or Water will be maintained because the National grid is not the energy billing company.
It's a separate company called the National Grid who have a contract with the government and they will not breach that contract and the judge has no authority to override that contract.
So not even a court order can have that Gas/Elec/Water feed cut off. This is why they want to get in your house and fit a prepay meter.
Now this is Civil and in the world of Civil the Judge CANNOT give that order, and he won’t.
WHY? The contempt of court reporting restriction does restrain the Judge and if he breaches this it’s a Judicial review at the Royal Courts of Justice and he gets fired.
So in brief there is no chance in hell that the feed supply will ever be cut off.
I can’t say that this is the same in every country. But they have to dig a hole in the street to get that done. I’m not saying that it can’t be done but the National grid will tell the Judge to fuck off.
They can do anything in the Movies. The Bureaucratic red tape for digging a hole in the street alone can take months.
The Billing Company is just that. It’s a metering and Billing service also licensed by the criminal cabal dba Government, Which also means in economic terms the Gas/Elec is 92% Tax the same as fuel.
A Billing company does not provide any Gas/Elec.
It’s just an extension of government by the license Billing company.
The Gas/Elec meter is NOT owned by the Billing company either and all they have is the serial number of the meter on record.
So without that serial number on record which gets moved from Billing company to billing company when you change billing company, they have no reason to Bill you or enter your home.
I am now using the words Billing company because they do not provide the Gas/Elec. Can you see how the language they use is also fraud??
The very contract is Fraud and there can never be that full disclosure of the Fact that they are just a Billing company under licence from the government OFGEM office.
The Government do not have the legal authority to sign that OFGEM Billing company licence because the people have never signed that Legal Consent. NONE of the Acts and Statutes are legally enforceable without the consent of the governed.
So it’s end-to-end fraud and the unsigned paper they never sign is the proof of that fact. Companies Act 2006 section 44. Please go read it.
      www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/46/section/44
Everything has to be signed by an authorised person. Well the Billing Company itself is not the authorised person, is it?
This is why nothing is ever signed.
Fraud Act 2006 section 4(2) Fraud by abuse of position when it is an act of omission. It’s not signed. AND they can’t legally sign it so they don’t. It's all about the Paper evidence and they send that to you.
      www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/35/section/4
It is in your hand. Material evidence of fraud sent by the fraudsters, This brings us once again back to the Claim and the MAXIM...
"He who makes a claim carries the OBLIGATION to provide the Material substance of the Claim. Otherwise, the claim is fraudulent and it is also a known CHARGEABLE, Criminal offence. "
The signed authorization does not exist.
You don't need to go to court.
What everyone should be doing, is getting a responsible fitter to fit YOUR OWN meter in your OWN home. There are thousands of meters on eBay.

There are sixth formers studying economics who can do a better job than Truss and her Chancellor. The problem we are facing is where the politicians are ignorant but too arrogant to seek and take advice.

The tax cut on the wealthy will cost more than 100 billion a year so for the next ten years that’s a trillion pounds. That’s a trillion pounds that could have been invested in the poorest and lower working class. To have better education, not live in poverty and be motivated hard working citizens.
We have had enough austerity, making the rich richer doesn’t invest in the future of our country. Those rich can invest their £10/£15k a year windfall in foreign holidays and properties abroad.
They could have spent that money on green energy saving and producing projects. Created a massive amount of jobs and at the same Time becoming a big net energy exporter. Improving schools, reducing class sizes. More university money for research. Bring up the level of education a cross the board.
Those things would bring investment into our country. Companies want a well educated happy looked after workforce. Well educated innovator that feel they can afford to take risks on business ventures and will not fall through the cracks if they don’t do exceptionally.
Let’s not forget that the young have suffered enough with school and social life closures from lockdowns. They needed a leg up, not this.

I wonder if the removal of the higher rate of tax was the price Truss paid for her premiership? That would explain her reluctance to undo what is so obviously a huge mistake 😮

Who knew that cutting taxes and increasing government spending will invariably lead to higher borrowing cost? Seriously how naive does one have to be to throw out these policies and think they might work

What if she didn't cut tax but still increase spending? I think the tax cut plan wasn't a good one but the spending could have been a good idea if properly used

@@kennethisaac233 same problem mate. How do you fund extra spending? Either by raising taxes (which makes her cutting taxes all the more stupid) or by increasing borrowing which will increase borrowing cost.
The root of the problem was the government overspent during Covid. Furlough schemes and other government support aimed to stabilise the economy as we tried to deal with the pandemic cost a lot of money. Not saying it was a bad policy at the time but we all knew that we would somehow have to pay for it in the future.
Also UK is one of the worst run countries I have seen and I have lived in three countries (and constantly travel for work to other developed countries). There’s a lot of inefficiency and wastefulness (and most probably corruption) in our government spending.

I'm an early retirer (64) and unpaid carer. I was officially in fuel poverty before all this started, living on under £10000 pa. Increased borrowing is taking money from us all for years, probably decades to come, putting it into the pockets of the rich in the form of tax cuts. Trickle down economics is nonsense, it's about fleecing the poor to give to the rich. Trickle up economics is needed, give money to the poor and they spend it, they have no choice. The rich put their tax cuts in havens overseas.
