Hi all, this is Greg. I just got home from a 5 mile hike in the woods and started reading comments. THANK YOU ALL for the uplifting support. All carnivore stories need to be out there; so, people in desperate situations learn that they too can experience the euphoria of good health through carnivore. Remember to pass on a blessing as often as you can. Good luck to all and all you have to do is just eat meat.
Proud to be the best friend of this incredible person. I've known Greg for 45 years, so needles to say I've been there through all of this testimony. But always remember that there was tons of good times mixed with all of this story. Greg you are one of a kind. Joe...
That’s one heck of a journey Greg. I want to ask…knowing what you know now, would you have needed Gastric bypass if you’d found carnivore beforehand? I think I know the answer but it boggles my mind…here we have a dietary tool/lifestyle if you will, that could completely eliminate the need for 99% of GB surgeries and yet the medical industry is completely ignoring it! What also baffles me is WHERE THE F ARE THE INSURANCE COMPANIES?!?! Why aren’t they standing up and saying or asking questions! Are all these big companies food, pharma, insurance getting subsidized by the government?! I know GB surgeries are like an eye drop in a swimming pool compared to moneys spent on diabetes and heart disease, but still, how can institutions keep ignoring these results?! Makes total sense why we are 36 trillion in debt.
Wow Greg, what an incredible story. Like so many others, if only we’d learned the health benefits of this healthy way of eating many years ago. God bless you and your amazing wife.
That is how it is. I lost a lot of muscles while on antidepressants which did not really help because once I went off them I was right back into depression had I known @@sandrasstitches
@@garny3766 NO WAY would I have needed the bypass if I had known about carnivore! The slight regret I have is that in 2000 when I tried the Atkins diet, I just went on it and dropped everything all at once. Then after a couple of weeks I got the "keto flu" and did not know that that was what I was experiencing. I had no coach and no one to talk to about it. So I thought that I was becoming unhealthy and started eating fruits and vegetables again, but I stayed away from bread. That was the beginning of me changing one habit at a time. If I would have had some coaching or medical intervention I could have pushed through and avoided a lot of pain and suffering. I have found studies back to 1903 that points to carbohydrates as the reason for health problems and yet our doctors are still taught about health basically using the modern version of a food pyramid. Which, incidentally, is the same feeding structure you use to fatten pigs.....hmmm.
This has been one of the best interviews. No disrespect to any of the previous one (including my own)...Wow, I'm blown away! The Gastric Bypass is such a scam and should be outlawed. Great job Greg...I absolutely loved listening to your journey. Stay Strong brother!
Each day I wake up, (after my Bible,) and I think "I wonder who Dave has interviewed today"? ....and I can't wait to listen as I work. It's been a year. Keep going Dave, it's fantastic!
Just had my breakfast (it is coming to 2pm) of 4 eggs fried in lard. Feeling great. Taking in an easy Sunday afternoon. In my country we say I am chilling. Carnivore is a blessing because I can even name my emotions now.
Holy cow! Dude. You have survived some stuff. (Not my usual choice of words). Your story is, I suspect, more normal than many of us imagine. It makes me wonder how many people out there are suffering and thinking they’re alone.
I loved hearing your story, Greg. You have been through so much, and it's sad to think the answer was always there, and somehow kept from us. I'm so happy you have healed and are able to live the happy, healthy life you deserve.
Excellent interview it points out the harm your body goes through after bypass because you're not giving it the proper nutrition causing all kinds of issues down the road
The last words of your testimony were: "I hope it helps somebody out there." I am the somebody.out here! I grew from this whole story, but the part that helped me the most was your suggestion to pick one small goal that you KNOW you can do successfully. And you backed it up with your story of training yourself to walk again. Your addiction counseling experience is still bearing fruit! I too went to Carnivore very, very gradually. Thank you very much for sharing your slow but dramatic recovery story!
Keep setting new goals every time you realize the last goal is a habit. You don't have to like it, It doesn't need to be fun, it just has to be your normal pattern. Never stop looking for ways to improve.
Thanks for telling your story. As many interviews as I have listened to, I might think I wouldn't learn anything new or get any more reinforcement from another one. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Thanks for sharing your story. It was quite inspirational. I can relate to a lot of your struggles. I lost 70 lbs more times than I can remember and once lost 130... each time gaining all the weight back. I'm currently down about 135 lbs, with more to go, but I'm actually seeing this as being sustainable. My former sleep doctor kept pushing me for gastric bypass or the gastric sleeve. Thankfully I opted to either beat it naturally or die intact. I'll be undergoing a sleep study sometime in the next six months to see if I no longer have obstructive sleep apnea. The orthopedic surgeon has been telling me I'll need knee replacement by the time I'm sixty, I'm currently about five years away from sixty, and with this current round of carnivore I've found much more arthritis relief. With the weight loss, and a change in physical therapy, I find I can stand and walk more. I'm hoping my next scheduled cortisone shot will either be my last or I'll be so much better by then I'll be able cancel the appointment. I saw my endocrinologist in August 2024. He gave me a goal to drop 28 lbs by my next visit, which was in January 2025. Instead of meeting his goal I lost 63 lbs. He came in, looked at me, had me stand up to see the results, and I could tell he was impressed. I'll see him again in July 2025 and hopefully I'll be around wherever my weight normalizes. I'm not off any of my medicines yet, but I'm hopeful I will be soon. I've kept one large shirt and one pair of jeans, from my heaviest weight, and have been donating and selling the rest so I have nothing to return to.
It takes time for your physical systems to balance out. I have two people who WERE diabetic and are no longer diabetic, two others who no longer need blood pressure medicine. Carnivore may not alleviate all of your problems but it will make them better. Keep on just eating meat and drinking water. Success breeds success.... you won't ever need your "fat" clothes again.
Wow Greg! Bless your soul! You have been through it to say the least……look how blessed you are now! No way but up up up you go! Wishing you all the best! So glad you have found the proper human diet! God is good! 🎉❤
I really appreciate this because it does take some of us a long time to finally get it right. During that time though you learn lessons and there's always benefits when you're doing carnivore, so you just get back up and do it again and again until it's your preferred lifestyle. Kudos to those who can quit cold turkey and call it a day but that has not been my 2-year experience but it just gets better all the time so we must not ever quit. Another key point he said, which I find to be true in my journey, is I keep going back to eating mostly carnivore . When you are in tune with your body, you can hear what it's telling you if you listen. To me, symptoms of both mental and physical health issues are our bodies language and how our body talks to us. Great interview!
Richard Simmons had " deal a meal" cards. Basic calorie restriction. In the end he died obese and in terrible health.😢 Greg I thought I had issues before carnivore. This story tells me I am so lucky. Terribly sorry for your pain. We were all lied to about nutrition for so long. Stories like ours are changing things.

What a great interview. Agree with another commenter - it’s one of the best ones I’ve heard in this channel and it’s so inspiring. I too finally succeeded when I did one step after another. First Keto, second Carnivore WITH high fat low carb dairy. Then dropped the caffeine. Then dropped all dairy. Cleaned up my water. Starting iodine. Never felt better. Success breeds success. Very true. Health breeds more health also. Much success to everyone here. It’s a journey! Also I had the same experience with the addiction voice: now that you’re eating clean, you can just have a piece of apple or a bit of this or that. Hard no for me. It’s always gotten me in trouble. No more.
Thanks for another interview, Dave and Greg! Need all the motivation I can get; this keto flu SUCKS. So thankful for testimonies like this that push me to keep going! 🙏🏻💪🏻

I'm 61 zero meds, zero health issues, been carnivore 11 months. Can still lift the same weights and reps as I did in my 40s even though I'm 25lbs lighter.
I'm sorry, how could anyone, especially somebody working as an addiction counsellor, think that a gastric bypass could be a good idea? And shame on every medical practitioner who recommends such a ridiculous and useless surgical intervention. Everyone I know that has undergone a gastric bypass has only lost weight in the short term, but they've all put it back on after a couple of years. It's an insane operation.
I had reservations about the by-pass the whole time but I did not know the details. A counselor stands on the outside of an issue and reflects choices back to the client helping them choose the right actions for themselves. Being that I was right in the middle of the problem and unable to take an objective view, I trusted my doctor. Also, I was a teacher at the time, I didn't become a counselor until 6 years after the by-pass.
What a liar your doctor was. Majority of data indicates gastric bypass fails long term. He should be reported. Some of these doctors need a class action lawsuit against them on what they irresponsibly say/represent.
Very impressed with your associations…that they are trusting you and the process. Huzzah 🙌 Greg would be a great asset to Kerry’s (and company) addiction group. Just a thought.
