Hilarious things to be on Isaac's third floor:
- Jasper, in a cage.
-REAL furries.
-a literal ARMchair. A FOOTstool, A CHEST of drawers.
-an assembly line of ghouls, all looking like clones of the ones we know.
-nothing. just a normal condo. He just likes his privacy.
-an embarrassing photo of Nellie at the Christmas party
-New Yorks leyline connection
-Annabelles loose screw
-Isaacs wall-length nude self portrait he can't get rid of.
-an undulating, breathing shapeless mass of mouths and fingers affectionately known as "Stevens"
Considering the fact that last episode seems to be his first real taste of fleshcrafting... Imma go with the last option
I would LOVE the coterie to research his powers behind his back and come up with all kinds of elaborate and twisted theories, only to find out he just has an embarrassing ly large collection of baseball bobbleheads or something. @@uzuchihanasuke1221

I honestly want to see that scene, or at see these two meet each other. They are going to have such interesting dynamic, the man with the appearance of a beast and the beast with the appearance of a man.

I find a perverse satisfaction that the only Sire the coterie has a positive relationship with is the Tzimisce.

It was cute to see Isaac's pride in having approval from his sire, he really is lucky compared to most Kindred.
That whole dynamic was really heartwarming, considering what lies behind the pretty term of "Embrace."
Jason Carl at 26:00 as Vaclav makes a joke that is a Dracula reference. 10 out of 10.

@@Warhamer116 one could argue that it would make the creator of said chair even more badass. If... undeniably creepy. That is the charm of the Tzimisce, especially the elder ones. So polite, so mannered, so... oh you broke their rules and dissed them? So sadistic in revenge.
Alex really went from playing the physically disfigured, rough but kind Nosferatu to the physically configured kind but terrifying Tzmisce.... like ppl made Jasper a hot boi and now Issac can make himself the hot boi. the Fandom stays eating so long as we aren't weird about it.
I actually started watching this series to see if it was Jasper I liked or Alex's acting, and it's definitely his acting. The facial expressions, the enunciation, the just slightly unnatural mannerisms of this character, it's so fun to watch

I was lost on it so their reactions felt realistic but I do wish one had gotten it for the people in the audience who got it lol
I do feel for Rey, his whole mortal life, for some decades it seems, was in Manhattan and he was a man of wealth and influence after decades of striving, perfect Ventrue material. And then he's embraced in Gangrel and has all these new instincts and drives, kicked out of Manhattan, and apparently was friends with a low ranking Camarilla member. There's a lot more story here that I'm fascinated to learn more about it.
I genuinely think he's the nicest out of the Anarch coterie, at least on the inside.
I'm also Team Rey, I think the others totally does not get what he wants and just echoing their own agenda. Will miss him.
Yeah but I have to give it to them, he does not do a good job of comunicating that to them. It has taken him soooo long to communicate to them that he doesn't want to serve them to the camarilla and he has not at any point said that he is not in the end going to do it anyway to get what he wants

Not really.. All you get is a frenzy and that continues until he is killed/downed or takes more aggrevated willpower damage and leaves the car creating distance between them.. Or ofcourse destroy the things annoying him..

@@gypsyg9612 No. He Frenzies or runs. You are looking at it purely mechanically. Each of those options gives good roleplay.
Where does he run? If he Frenzies that draws a very specific limitation on what he finds acceptable? Frenzy rolls and their failure are a roleplay goldmine.

You know, if I was to give anything at the moment....Rey actually kind of feels like Victor in an odd way. Both characters are, strangely, holding their own grounds. They never say "I'm sorry", they're holding fast to convictions. With Victor, he was more charismatic and could get away with being more egregious, because he was the Isaac of the group, the benefactor, in a position of wealth/influence. With Rey, he's the odd one out, trying to resolve situations in his own way while his Beast claws at his chest to just punch things that get in his way. He's actually trying to resolve things in a diplomatic sense despite his clan urges. I kind of respect that, I like the interplay with the characters since they HAVE to work with this stance, and it's really engaging.

Intellectually, I love Rey as a character. He is well played and well characterized. I find him so intensely irritating and he makes me irrationally angry with his decisions and his arguments and his mannerisms and lack of social understanding or social care. Which, I imagine is the intent with the character. I hate him because I'm supposed to. Well done, Joey!
@@skrawnyn3rd I both agree but disagree on this as Rey is a character so utterly flawed but when he is in control without his beast snarling at him he manages and does far better in social affairs… it’s almost like this character is constantly being played by Rey’s beast rather then the Rey character which is more of a tragic story as his intentions are mostly humane but his methodology is corrupted by the beast
1:33:22 I love Alex's penchant, as Isaac, for staring directly into camera for this sort of remark - quite a change from Jasper, who tended to stare anywhere but.
It has been fascinating to watch how this coterie differs from our previous one in LA. This is so much more a team-up of convenience and circumstance and there is very little genuine affection to go around. Manipulation powers on members of the coterie get thrown around and there is a certain disregard for the others getting hurt as long as an objective is achieved. The LA coterie felt like a found family, this one is much more a group of very individualistic Kindred trying to survive together (for the time being only). I am so so excited to watch how different the season 2 coterie will be, especially since it's the first player character group we've seen that is affiliated with the Camarilla.
And as the always so many thanks to Jason Carl!! You are an amazing storyteller through and through and have been an inspiration for my own roleplaying sessions. Would be extremely interested if you were to ever make training videos for other DMs or just share your preparation process for each session :)

Well Vamily, what a finale I absolutely loved . The acting, the drama, the combat etc, it was so entertaining, I am very intrigued about season 2, if you want to see other examples of Noura Ibrahim playing a Ventrue then may I recommend you watch The Nightlife, a chronicle set in Miami with Storyteller Diana DiMicco. If you wish to see Cynthia Marie portray a Lasombra then may I recommend the Memorium episode of L.A by night (Season 3) in which she plays the incredibly powerful Lucita De Aragon (sorry if I misspelt that) or on Vancouver by Night also.

@@ProfBrunoClemente Jared can currently be found running games for the Glass Cannon Network. Before that, he and his team ran the channel Stream of Blood. That's the channel where he ran multiple seasons of Vampire the Masquerade, as well as Werewolf, Wraith, Promethean, and Hunter. And that's just the World/Chronicles of Darkness content. Isaac reminds me of the folktale Bluebeard. He's very welcoming to people in his home, and is cool with them going anywhere EXCEPT a single room.

This entire series has been a great watch. Rey is, to me, the most well-crafted and acted character in the group. It's a very conflicted character that has shown some real growth episode by episode and is the main focal point of where the tension comes from. It's funny though that he has this rivalry with Isaac who always seems to talk down to him or chide him for his actions and his commitment to gaining trust with the Camarilla, but Issac with his "rules" acts exactly like that which he hates the most.
It's also been interesting to see those who have the ability to take control of any situation with Dominate not understand just how out of control Rey feels with his unlife and how desperate he is to feel more like the others in that regard. It makes for great storytelling.
Also Jason Carl is one of the best GMs I have watched. Its a rare talent to see someone keep a scene feeling fresh with great descriptions of what is happening with almost any action a player will take and giving characters a life with very little change in voice. Very inspiring to watch.

Sorry to see and add to this a year later, but I'm revisiting since s3 is coming soon. I hope Vaclav's motivation is related to the 'thing' that was found under NY some time ago, in v20 edition I think.
Small theory after watching this: The wight was a Hecata (painful bite, maybe Nagaraja teeth) and that's why Cat knew about it. Up in the air whether it really was tied to the Sabbat.
Poor Ray. I think at this point it's safe to say he should burn those dice and buy a new set.
Not burn - bake them. To be honest, if a player consistently rolls bad on huge dice pools, I let them re-roll occasionally, because otherwise the stats become farcical as a description of a characters talent, training and competency.

The Rule of Cool is the most important rule, as it is the rule that emphasizes this is a game, and games are supposed to be fun, one way or another.
Gotta appreciate calling Hekata newcomers when the original necromancers date from the First City... but that's only a small minority sadly (cappadocians are my favorite clan)
Hmm, I'm kinda surprised Fuego wasn't pissed or questioning why her feeding prefrence was satisfied by the drink offering from Isaac's sire, this means they are actively feeding off those from the Bronx, which could be anyone including those she knows. Potential problems for the future season?
Also, Isaac's monologue at the end about not if the coterie falls apart but rather WHEN was really sad when reminiscing about the LA by night crew. To continue growth everyone will separate at the end, which is just the inevitable with this group, but we will see what the experince they gain from this will become.
There was a lot going on maybe the actress forgot once the sire stuff came up or maybe she felt her char would’ve been too confused and ignorant to question, like maybe she thought it was magic cuz she’s seen so many mystical things? Them feeding off Bronx people didn’t come to mind I just thought it was special blood
@@Peecamarke maybe it is special blood and I looked to far into it? It felt like one of those hints Jason was giving similar to the crow like "they typically don't fly at night" then it turned out to be a familiar to another Kindred.
Why would she be mad someone was feeding from the bronx she she and her coterie also feed from the bronx?
Could be a mixture of 1. The people he feeds on are people who trespass on the island 2. He was probably old enough where they couldn't do anything even if they tried and 3. Just a lapse in thought considering the whole ordeal lol
@@pedrox2006 atleast she would know who she or who her coterie eats, which seems to be rich or stuck up people. But if there is someone else eating them and they don't care for the type, it could be a problem.
The coterie is finally beginning to fuse together if bit painfully so we can expect their teamwork to be better the next time we see them. A shame that things have to come to an end the second it starts to really pick up. Otherwise excellent episode great acting from all involved and the timing of the music and set lights were very good.

Tbf, Dracula is a Tzimisce, a breakway variant who sees Isaac and his ilk who has vissicitude as ... sus. @@VandalAudi Maybe he’s a Dracula fanboy who’s Vicissituded himself to look like his favorite literary kindred? His appearance matches Dracula from the novel instead of the Lugosi movie, he says he’s around 125 years old which lines up with the book’s publication date, and he greets them with the exact greeting the Count used when he first had a visitor to his castle.
@@VandalAudi Dracula actually does have Vicissitude. Its a misconception that he is part of the Old Clan due to him not using Vissicitude on himself but he is actually a standard Tzimisce and in every book where Dracula appears, his character sheet always has him having Vissicitude as one of his disciplines.

This was an absolutely amazing episode, probably my favorite out of all of this season. But I CAN'T believe that this is the end (for now?) for this coterie, I absolutely have to see more of them, I HAVE to.

I'm gonna miss this Coterie so much, I really love them. They're so unusual and special. And they gave light so very underrepresented clans.
Rey in this episode really made me hate him, it was really hard to watch. Which is a testament to a good player. And the part where Fuego is the only one trying to defend him, and he just throws her under the bus is something.
I love Serif more and more every time. And now she showed to be the true heart of the coterie. Her and Isaac showed to be the figures that work hard to keep everybody together. Which is surprising considering a few episodes ago i thought Serif would have ended up beign the one taking distance.
Guys, you're all such great players! And of course we know what a great storyteller Jason is.
My excitement for the Camarilla coterie is less than most people's, for the same reason why others are excited. I always prefer to see new players, and the new coterie is all veterans, 3 of which were alraedy in LA by Night, so it feels less fresh. Nevertheless it will be interesting to see how a Camarilla coterie works. And of course I know all those players are great.
But also can't wait to see this coterie again in s3! It's gonna be such a long wait!
See I am the opposite, this episode always make me like Rey more. Like he is a simple man who wants a simple thing, and his Allie’s fuck up a great chance for him to get it. He then tried to explain that they have left him out to dry and he needs a new option that doesn’t fuck them over and they are just mad he wants to leave. Something that has been pretty obvious

A real treat to watch Jason staying in one character for an extended time. Most sessions, he's flipping between beasts and NPCs and storyteller mode. I really enjoyed this. It was, as Vaclav might say, a delight.

Great way to end this part of the story! JC's words "Not everyone who comes under the night thrives" reminded me of X's descent into the deep at the conclusion of LABN. The tragedy, despair and hope of those living under the night and their relationship to the beast for me is the most powerful part of the story this season. I love the way JC tailors the voice of the beast for each clan and character. It's a personal relationship, a hunger and even a passion as the beast drives each kindred toward the edge as they struggle to retain what's left of their humanity. I hope the cast and JC will continue to explore these themes in season 2, reaching towards Golconda and the salubri on one hand and showing just how fat the beast can entice with the Sabbat and finally the decent into Wassail.
This season was incredible! What a journey. Fantastic storytelling by Jason, phenomenal acting from Abria, Joey, Alex & Mayanna! Loved the character development from all the characters. I feel for Rey b/c I know he’s conflicted in multiple senses. He feels he needs to Camarilla to retain what remains of his humanity & to give him a sense of normalcy again. At the same time he’s come to care for his coterie mates. Also, love how Fuego defended him immediately. Hope we see more of Rey & Fuego development in S3. Can’t wait to start S2 & get the Camarilla perspective.

Oveall, great season finale. I like that the coterie finally got that wight taken care of. I agree that if recovering it was such a big deal, Rey should have opened up a lot more a LOT sooner, though. I wasn't a big fan of the whole episode ending on a tense note. Still, awesome acting all around, and I enjoyed the chat at Vaclav's. That was creepy and very cool.
I'm so curious what Isaac comes up with as part of his newly-discovered "vicissitude" powers next season. Watching a tzimisce as a protagonist is going to be so exciting (and potentially terrifying too)
That stake sure does get around. When it first appeared in LA by Night, I never would have guessed it would find its way into another storyline and be used on another vamp on the other side of the country!

Jason as Isaac's sire was the highlight of the season for me. But I have to give Rey the award for best single line after *Lizzy parts her hair and points directly toward Isaac ,Fuego: pointing is rude as..fuck. Rey: (astonished and frustrated) HIS name is Isaac not Sabbat! Maybe a "cheap" laugh but I was still laughing about it 10 mins later. I think it's because most of us know enough about how these things work that the fledgling Faux Pas, particularly in the earlier episodes, were so shocking and well executed.

This episode is bleeding backstory for everyone, new or vets to TWOD, it has the action and hype moments of a battle and Reys secret coming out at the end. Alex Dominates every scene when it comes to something very serious in matters where Isaac needs complete control of the situation.
@@leonardogonzalez5016 Alex was the real MvP sure but each had their own thing going on. I was kind of sad that Rey's Cam meeting released so soon. Serif had just finally learned to not be all sad all the time turning that frown upside down if you will. I wanted a few more episodes of smiling before the betrayal was let out XD.

oh boy, it was a really nice episode! Vaclav has such a nice grandpa vibe with a small addition of "unwelcomed guests tent to stay", was a pleasure to meet him (definately better then to meat him lol). great that we finally saw how the wight story arc ended (Isaac is probably mistaken about the connection between him and the construction side since he seemed to be quite young). looking forward to the other side of the story in 4 weeks

I've always thought that the 3rd room was the bedroom. And like me he's very strict about rules for privacy, art and his bedroom 🥺🥺❤
Well, until this episode, I fully expected the third floor would be where he keeps the really nasty Tsimisce stuff - the flesh abominations, the people he turned into furniture, the mindless deformed blood suppliers. Which very well could still be true, since for a Tsimisce, all that could fall under the headline of "art projects", so he wouldn't have been outright lying. Also, the way he worded his offer for Rey to see the third floor was very much designed to deter him from actually taking him up on it. Isaacs preferred way of feeding also hasn't been revealed yet and he actively conceals it, he doesn't chime in and distracts from the topic whenever people talk about feeding habits and he made a point to have taken care of it "off screen" when everyone else went for a hunt. This might well be related to what is on the third floor.
Now in his talk with Vaclaw, we learned that he is just yet discovering how to use his clan's special flesh form discipline, so my initial guess about the human furniture might have been off, but I still fully expect something sinister to be hidden on the third floor, especially after the very dark secret Alex chose to hide in his lair for Jasper in LA by Night. Of course it's possible that Alex is just having a laugh by fueling such expectations with his secrecy about the third floor and it's really nothing more but a wish for privacy combined with a "my house, my rules" spleen, but I don't expect it too be that simple.

And I wasn't surprised about the fact that Isaac is so private , because I'm so strict about my rules and my bedroom too. Even if we're talking about a Tzimisce, everything is possible: maybe he's lying maybe he isn't

That was an excellent episode and what a season! I've had times hen I've found Rey frustrating or annoying but you know what, the pay off was worth it. These kindred make for an interesting crew and a amazing story.
I'm looking forward to meeting the second coterie and seeing how switching back and forth between sides plays out

What a great first season. The finale was perfect . Very excited for season 2 given the cast, but I hope we see more of the season 1 crew. Very nicely done.
This episode really highlighted to me how very good at acting these guys really are. Superb. All the yelling and in-fighting felt very genuine.

The Wight is Hecata. My guess is Rey is going need a history lesson as why the Gangrel are not with the Camirilla. I think Isaac would had understand Rey if used it as territory both Clans are extremely territorial. If put in away that Rey lost his territory and possessions in Manhattan might make more sense to Isaac. Gangrel are not known for their social skills.
