so i have a non-proxy, paper pauper cube at ~777 cards, 35 each 2XM basics and 15 each og snow lands, plus all the tokens. all cards are double sleeved with kmc hyper inners and dragonshields, stored in a "big black metal box", very good quality and fits everything pretty much perfectly. i typically play sealed (6 packs) with a friend, and i play every other day, hence why it's big for variety. i am very happy with it at the moment, so no plans to update it. i have plans to buy proxies (from makeplayingcards) for a theros standard block cube with cards from RTR block and m14. bng was the set i started playing and have a soft spot for the greek mythos theme and that era of standard with the rg ramp decks using polukranos and stormbreath dragon, esper control using sphinx' rev and supreme verdict and closing games with aetherling, mono B devotion with thoughtseize, sweet removal and garys. it has around 3-4 of each card and 3-4 of each temple and shock lands. i plan on using the nyx starfields for the basics
If I may give you encouragement to purchase a custom cube box from Aaron Cain, I would strongly recommend it. My cube is 720 cards, powered and I will be damned if Im keeping 50K worth of MTG cards in a cardboard box. Cain is an absolute pleasure to work with, he worked with me to establish the sizing requirements, including land (50 of each colour) and the product turned out to be very affordable despite the tier 4 exotic wood that I selected. Go Cain or go home my man, your collection deserves it!!
I'm suprised Classic Cube didn't show up in the "What kind of Cube do you own" results. I thought it was more common and it's a ton of fun! I Even though I didn't play back then, having a hand full of old frame card is something I can't get over with.
Thanks for the info. I would love to see videos on devotion in cube. I would also love to see more thoughts on cmc spots. Like an idea of the 6 drop throughout the cube and what are great ones to have, spells or creatures, depending on color?
My cube started only a few months ago and has come a long way since iso started. Since it's inception, I have been tweaking and playtesting constantly on Cube Cobra and have only had the opportunity to play it maybe 4 times and always only with 2 players. I initially built it with the purpose of it being a 2 man cube but ended up going with 360 so I could run sealed with up to 4 and even a full 8 man pod, should that ever occur. Also cuts are hard. Great video!
Dont worry Mat! I own 4 cubes:D they serve different purposes. Classic 360. Whitebordered. Innistrad and Dominaria draft sim :) A lot of Dragon shields...;)
I would love to be able to base my list off of Usman's list... Unfortunately his last update on CT is from 2018. Also, if you get more responses from the french cubing community, you'll have Matignon's cube comming up as a huge influence.
Because some people think you should be maxing out on 3 damage for 1R, even at sorcery. Personally I don't agree, but there's quite a few people with that opinion.
@@aaronleete4787 one of those people right here. ;-) Fire ambush is prized by people who are aiming for high density and redunacy to make their cube decks feel stronger/more consistent.
So 95% of people have a paper cube. Even if you have real duals and power, youre gonna use proxies for play bc they are too valuable to actually hit the table.
Great work 👏 lots of effort and time spent on this with really good analysis. Thank you!

This was a great video and good summary of the State of Cube 2020

One day. Alas, money is money is a thing.
Happy to start my Sunday with a new cube video. Glad you're back, man, and I hope you're doing well.

A couple of the "other responses" were old frame cubes, if that helps.
@@cubefortwo it helps knowing i'm not alone playing with underpowered creatures !

What was your final sample size for the survey?
10:39 I apparently just had to be patient to have my question answered: 640. Thanks for doing the survey and this summary video, Matt!
@@Grimlocksmith my pleasure.
Shout out to the riptidelab.com, I've learned a ton from you'all!
How is Fire Ambush underrated? Isn't it just a Volcanic Hammer?

Dammit, I miss the survey x.x my list was inspired by Chirdaki's.
you are not the only one sir. several others listed him, just not quite enough to make the graph.

You nerds keep a list of your cube? Sorry, I'm not a hobby accountant in my free time
