Saved the day!! Was about to go to horrible freight for a Hydraulic press but just so happen to have this same ball joint kit at home. Going to make it work on my dana 60 1480 joint cause im broke!! Thank you!
Great video I loved it being a short - quick and to the point. My press (and I’m assuming most of them) says not to use an impact on it but to be honest I think the $50 risk is worth the time and effort savings without a doubt - especially for just doing u-joints because you’re much less likely to have any issues than doing ball joints.
Well, they like to strip out with an impact. If it's a rental though who gives a wrap. Another thing though...give it too much hell and you can bend the ears
This video was 24 hours late. I did them with a hammer a bit of steel and bang 1:30 to do it. My forearm looks like iv been going hard on spankie for a solid week. 😂
I've done this method (with a press) dozens of times, until last week when I bent the ears. I found out once the caps were in and couldn't get the clips on. 2 new things it taught me: 1-Always measure the ears and 2-have 7/8 rod with 2 nuts and washers to spread it apart. I'll probably go back to hammer and sockets...
I just did this 1hr ago. Works freaking perfect. Super easy anyone can do it. Thnx for the video
Put out full length videos and I will watch them! You are full of good ideas and awesome content
I think intro video will be out this week. Thank you.
Just did the same thing with my axle shaft u joints with the same tool today. Works like a charm!
Hey man thank you for that saved a boat load of time and yeah no issue at the end of the

Dex "I can do more with less" Browder !
Nice quick in fast
I still didn't see how you put the new one in!?
I got that same tool from harbor freight.
Ball joint tool??
Always a Hammer😅
Literally just bought a vise heavy hammer and punch, but son of a gun this might be the better way
Am I mistaken or did you just say the easy way
you gotta be careful doin this otherwise you can end up bending the ears of the axles inwards

That's how I get all mine replaced. Sometimes they come out by themselves lol jk
I've been doing all u joints like this for years. Yes you can do it with just a hammer but why beat the crap out of something if it's this easy?
Bud me an u got a LOT in common.
From rc to this method here. 🤌
