Create a World is definitely possible in TS4 - there’s a modder already working on it in fact. It’s TwistedMexi and his TOOL mod is already a good example of how that could work
One of the options for expansion pack ideas on the list is "modern monarchy". However, I still wish we could get a full medieval expansion pack and have it be a separate world, kind of like how Batuu or Strangerville works. I don't want modern royalty! The first option they give about a post apocalyptic world seems like that could make that happen. It's honestly been my most wanted pack for a long time. 😭
im very interested in the crime one ngl cuz i think there is barely any actual real life consequences in this game so if there was it would definitely make the game more realistic to being a life simulation. Also something different than just starting off in an old starter home trying to get rich like every other playthrough

Having a functioning mall is on my list ever since The Sims 4 came out. The Sims 2 could do it.. come on EA..! Would be awesome if one of the next packs would have malls. The pack where you can tour with a van also really sounds interesting (but then give us regular cars as well, please). Especially if you could plan a retirement. More gameplay for elders please! They are unfortunately pretty much neglected in the game right now :(
The pack idea based on Island Paradise from sims 3 would be great if they gave us back the proper diving and ocean exploration instead of the rabbit hole that we got with Island Living. I also hope it would bring back house boats. I liked being able to move my home to another marina.
The options for expansion packs are so great, wtf do we get "romance" expansion packs instead of one of these? Also, the gritty city one, that's just Gotham City from Batman. If they give us Gotham City Sims version, I will lose my mind and stop complaining for a couple of months.
Create a world is literally what ive been wanting from the start. Just give me a blank slate world like in sims 2 (desert concrete grass or dirt) and let me put my own objects and lots -.- I agree with what someone said i think by build a world they dont mean create a world they mean fill up a bad world we give you
I love because all of this sounds wonderful if they are able to do it, but we know they are gonna do a half-assed buggy attempt and then sell it for $40.
As much as I wish they would stop making packs, I have to say that these are at least interesting me quite a lot. The dystopian options seem fun and unique and the more grounded ones are leaning towards historical which I love as a history nerd. If EA are going to carry on making DLC for this game, I'd rather something very out-there and unique with mostly new features over something to expand our broken base-game like Lovestruck.

Yea it seems like a sneaky way to phrase it. Now even i dont think the devs are this scummy. But i could imagine someone being like "here you go i gave you an empty world. Now you got Build a World. Check! ✅" What else is next?!?" But yea no, i think build a world means build a world outside of lots. Especially since they could've just said "empty lots upon release" or "a new erase all buildable lots option" to be clearer.
I read it as enjoying making all the houses and getting to see the whole town built up and populated. I like popping in houses and townies and seeing the whole neighborhood come together.
Yeah, that's why there's not going to be a Sims 5, IMHO. That's the direction they want to push the game. History shows, they favor the minority of players over the majority one. They'll justify it as long as some players fall for it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the actual majority are children and well-off people who don't mind spending money on the drop of a dime for better perks. It isn't a paid battlepass. But how long untill they start to make us pay for it? No one wan't this sh*t and most of us clearly were mad about it the first time. Yet they are still trying to push it.
I mean it depends on value, if it’s less than a stuff pack (or the same) but comes with items with new interactions/animations, it might actually be worth it. I will keep referring it to what we already pay to see if it’s worth it & then decide

The next question was going to expand on one of the items chosen but instead of the "post-apocalyptic" which I favoured they chose the "van-life". I tried to go back a page but it wouldn't so I tried to re-do the survey only to be told that I had already completed it. I think we will be getting an elders pack and everything else is just for show. xxx

I went all the way and since you can choose up to 2 answers for the favoured packs, you'll get the same thread of questions for both of your picks. So you could have kept going instead of going back. Their system is clearly broken sadly, too bad you could not re do it. There are workarounds (different IP adress I guess) but it's very troublesome, just for a survey
A lot of the pack descriptions focus on swimming/water activities/lifeguards and babysitters so i wouldnt be surprised if we got some sort of summery themed pack
OMG! I don't want to be a total simp but I'm so excited! Create a World? Monarchy? 80s/90s pack? Sign me the F up! If they really bring out a CaW feature, that's my top wish. Because it would finally allow us builders to connect different lots and create huge structures.

Back in the Sims 3, we had create a world, and I really missed drawing lots--yes actually drawing lots--like drawing a room. And as for color will, if they can do it for pets, they can do it for us--after all we got sliders, so I think they can do a color wheel. Create a world would be a builder's dream! I would never get out of build mode for a long time. Hey, wait a minute!! Didn't they just show that 100-tile house in a meme or gif not too long ago? That's a hint if there ever was one. A prehistorical pack? Count me in. Also, the luxury pack sounds interesting - there is no concept of luxury in sims' lives right now so this would actually be a new and interesting feature.
I want criminal careers and burglars, if they are worried about snowflakes they could just have an “off button” the sims was great for its chaos that no longer exists.

I wish we could get an NPC manager, where you have an interface in the Manage World section, to be able select a sim or allocate a sim to each NPC type/role in each town.
I think this game could benefit from them making a "2.0" version of the game- the same game, just with a modern engine etc. It happens a lot with console games for example and when the PS5 first dropped and was impossible to get, Sony made ps4 and ps5 versions of their games and it would import all your saved data. This way everything they want to do would actually be possible and work and they wouldn't have to create a new game and players wouldn't start from scratch.
If they implemented a Create A World, I might actually LOVE the Sims 4. I need space for my Sims and I just don’t think I have the space for just how many I have 😂. I got multiple families cause I get bored with just one.

Yesterday’s update broke my game even more, it’s unplayable now. Loading HH glitch still there and infinite loading screen. I’m officially done with the game and will be uninstalling and just keep up with the news.
I can’t get into my saved games. I just get a never ending loading screen. I was looking forward to getting the kits but it looks like that isn’t happening

Just did the survey! I think a 80’s/90’s retro world could be cool if done right with like a touch of modern. Loving the idea of the kids camp but that sounds a lot more appealing as a game pack.
I picked the crime pack and the ocean life pack but I want all of them honestly. I noticed there wasn’t a bands or fairies or pottery pack option. That’s either really worrying or maybe soon to come.
I want more criminal opportunities and more chance of sims being fined for some misbehaviors or going to prison (rabbit hole) In prison the sim can be there for 6hours to 3 sim days depending on the crime. Another sim in the family can call a lawyer and is a chance if the lawyer gets your sim out may have to pay small fine or a large fine. Or the lawyer failed the and sim stays in jail until that sim's time is up. We already have the law career in the sims.
I actually took the survey a couple hours ago, and I would love to see a cyberpunk future pack and the criminal one. These two themes (while I know these are not promised to actually happen) got me really excited, and thinking about how it would really change gameplay for not only myself, but other players as well.
The monarchy one sounds like they would be incorporating some elements of Sims Medieval. I loved Sims Medieval (and wish EA would do an upgrade the same way they did with Sims 3 so, I can play it again! 😭) so, I would love for them to incorporate some of its elements into an expansion pack. It was really whimsical and different so, I'd enjoy experiencing something like it in the Sims again.
I said in the survey, the cyberpunk and the criminal/vigilante to combine into this retro futuristic world, bringing back old Technology into a dystopian futuristic feel. (ALSO to do more with aliens!!)
I think the EP themes sound super cool and all will likely come to TS4 eventually since we have many more years with the game apparently BUT what do they have against giving us bands already!?😭😭😭
I would really like some more options to transport or entertain infants. I would pay to have an infant swing or jump station, we also need strollers, because the back carriers never work for longer term activities
In my opinion, the second Island Living one sounds like that should be a refresh, and the marine archaeology one sounds like it could be a joint refresh between Island Living and Jungle Adventure. Adding on to those would be nice, though I wouldn’t be apposed to a Caribbean world that somehow worked in more Princess Cordelia lore, the Maxis gallery family, and pirates (ghosts?).
I need to see successful releases of at least 3 dlc, not just kits, without game breaking issues before I engage in a survey about spending more gifted cdkeys on this game lol. Disclaimer aside, its interesting to see what direction this game could go and where other simmers stand on the topic. Surely, no one is going to support a paid battle pass set up, hopefully. This whole relationship between EA and simmers could be studied tbh. It's so interesting to say the least.
We need MORE ACTIVE careers!! With new lot types and of course more worlds. Even create our world that our Sim will go to work! If they decided to support Sims 4 from now on, they gotta do this the right way !
TS4 is a live service game now. They’ll start charging for content piece by piece like the TS3 store the second project Rene comes out. Tbh, I wouldn’t be shocked if they eventually go away from selling packs altogether. They don’t care if people have spent thousands of dollars on the game, they will start giving pack content out as free updates and selling every piece of CAS or BB Content à la carte. They don’t care about gameplay
I agree, this game is about to be 11years old, it’s time for an upgrade. The game is already bugged out and it’s been 11years of them not being able to truly fix it, so how is this new stuff really going to work well. The sim fandom is so easily swayed. People complain everyday about the bugged out game , yet so excited for this it just doesn’t make sense.
The thing is, all the ideas on the survey sounded great … on paper. But alas, EA has a proven track record of taking great concepts and making them dull, glitchy and unsatisfying. I want to be excited SO bad for this, but 10 years of woe weighs heavily 😂 I am more interested to hear more about what reworking ‘the engine’ means? Are we looking at core code rewrites to fix the spaghetti code that has plagued this game since birth?
I just took the survey. I would love to have a royal expansion pack. I dont want to rely on mods for literally everything. My favorite mods are the mods that expand gameplay not create entirely new ideas. Like I love expanded mermaids because it expands on gameplay already in base game. Like if they made a royalty expansion pack then a mod could greatly expand on that gameplay & there would be even more to enjoy.
I'm 67% sure that "create a world" was a miscommunication and they simply meant clearing all the builds in an area and building all the lots in a world up from scratch -- like Newcrest. Or at least, this is the excuse they'll use when they fail to deliver and remind us that the things they've already done 15 years ago are "just too difficult" and our expectations are "unrealistic"
I love the modern monarchy expansion idea! Along with the summer camp expansion idea! It sounds like adding a lot of gameplay, worlds, and CAS that are sorely needed in the sims! (And I’m a loser for monarchy gameplay)
As for story writing - I'm not into the occult so any story writing I would do would be something along the lines of a snap opera In fact, I'm in the process of abandoning such an idea on console as EVEN WITH the Lovestruck Pack, consoles don't give me the freedom of creativity I would have by playing them on the PC instead as there's Mods to help me out I'm even setting up blogs & soon TH-cam channels for the SFW versions of each of my soap operas (The NSFW versions will naturally go elsewhere (Like porn tube sites with blogs on LoversLab) since those would violate TH-cam's TOS 😂)
There Expansion Pack "pitches" sound more like really good spin-off games than things that fit naturally into Sims 4. Maybe the oceanic expansion could expand on Mermaids, the criminal one could expand crime and cops. But some of the others I am like....this would be great as a spin off game. Even with a 90s theme, I'd want house phones and the newspaper and such. Not the current modern sims injected into some experience that doesn't fit with the rest of the game.
I would never even have /dreamed/ of the extreme environment post-apocalyptic survival in the Sims 4, but I would /kill/ for it. (...but then, I'm also a really big fan of Project Zomboid, so that's very much up my alley anyway)

If they're creating a new world for every expansion, it's clear they have the world-building tools. They just need to share those tools with modders!

A lot of the pack descriptions focus on swimming/water activities/lifeguards and babysitters so i wouldnt be surprised if we got some sort of summery themed pack
I didn't like any of them. In fact, I won't buy anything unless they fix the entire game. No more DLCs! I did the survey and vetoed all of the ideas.
OMG! I don't want to be a total simp but I'm so excited! Create a World? Monarchy? 80s/90s pack? Sign me the F up! If they really bring out a CaW feature, that's my top wish. Because it would finally allow us builders to connect different lots and create huge structures.

Back in the Sims 3, we had create a world, and I really missed drawing lots--yes actually drawing lots--like drawing a room. And as for color will, if they can do it for pets, they can do it for us--after all we got sliders, so I think they can do a color wheel. Create a world would be a builder's dream! I would never get out of build mode for a long time. Hey, wait a minute!! Didn't they just show that 100-tile house in a meme or gif not too long ago? That's a hint if there ever was one. Oh, please let it be a create a world.

A prehistorical pack? Count me in. Also, the luxury pack sounds interesting - there is no concept of luxury in sims' lives right now so this would actually be a new and interesting feature.
I want criminal careers and burglars, if they are worried about snowflakes they could just have an “off button” the sims was great for its chaos that no longer exists.
Or better yet they don't have to buy them. Can we. Get packs that bring the wackyness back.

I wish we could get an NPC manager, where you have an interface in the Manage World section, to be able select a sim or allocate a sim to each NPC type/role in each town.

I think this game could benefit from them making a "2.0" version of the game- the same game, just with a modern engine etc. It happens a lot with console games for example and when the PS5 first dropped and was impossible to get, Sony made ps4 and ps5 versions of their games and it would import all your saved data. This way everything they want to do would actually be possible and work and they wouldn't have to create a new game and players wouldn't start from scratch.
If they implemented a Create A World, I might actually LOVE the Sims 4. I need space for my Sims and I just don’t think I have the space for just how many I have 😂. I got multiple families cause I get bored with just one.

Yesterday’s update broke my game even more, it’s unplayable now. Loading HH glitch still there and infinite loading screen. I’m officially done with the game and will be uninstalling and just keep up with the news.
I can’t get into my saved games. I just get a never ending loading screen. I was looking forward to getting the kits but it looks like that isn’t happening
@@daringone657 Yep same me too gonna pass. The patch notes said they updated the loading screens to be faster but whatever they did broke it so it lever loads now

Just did the survey! I think a 80’s/90’s retro world could be cool if done right with like a touch of modern. Loving the idea of the kids camp but that sounds a lot more appealing as a game pack.
I picked the crime pack and the ocean life pack but I want all of them honestly. I noticed there wasn’t a bands or fairies or pottery pack option. That’s either really worrying or maybe soon to come.
I wanted to see/use Cars, Rock-a-Billy Fashion, expand seniors, expand babies, motel/hotels, and theme parks.
Finally adding Create a World in The Sims 4 would actually be nice to see.

I want more criminal opportunities and more chance of sims being fined for some misbehaviors or going to prison (rabbit hole) In prison the sim can be there for 6hours to 3 sim days depending on the crime. Another sim in the family can call a lawyer and is a chance if the lawyer gets your sim out may have to pay small fine or a large fine. Or the lawyer failed the and sim stays in jail until that sim's time is up. We already have the law career in the sims.
I actually took the survey a couple hours ago, and I would love to see a cyberpunk future pack and the criminal one. These two themes (while I know these are not promised to actually happen) got me really excited, and thinking about how it would really change gameplay for not only myself, but other players as well.

The monarchy one sounds like they would be incorporating some elements of Sims Medieval. I loved Sims Medieval (and wish EA would do an upgrade the same way they did with Sims 3 so, I can play it again! 😭) so, I would love for them to incorporate some of its elements into an expansion pack. It was really whimsical and different so, I'd enjoy experiencing something like it in the Sims again.
I said in the survey, the cyberpunk and the criminal/vigilante to combine into this retro futuristic world, bringing back old Technology into a dystopian futuristic feel. (ALSO to do more with aliens!!)
I think the EP themes sound super cool and all will likely come to TS4 eventually since we have many more years with the game apparently BUT what do they have against giving us bands already!?😭😭😭

In my opinion, the second Island Living one sounds like that should be a refresh, and the marine archaeology one sounds like it could be a joint refresh between Island Living and Jungle Adventure. Adding on to those would be nice, though I wouldn’t be apposed to a Caribbean world that somehow worked in more Princess Cordelia lore, the Maxis gallery family, and pirates (ghosts?).

I need to see successful releases of at least 3 dlc, not just kits, without game breaking issues before I engage in a survey about spending more gifted cdkeys on this game lol. Disclaimer aside, its interesting to see what direction this game could go and where other simmers stand on the topic. Surely, no one is going to support a paid battle pass set up, hopefully. This whole relationship between EA and simmers could be studied tbh. It's so interesting to say the least.
We need MORE ACTIVE careers!! With new lot types and of course more worlds. Even create our world that our Sim will go to work! If they decided to support Sims 4 from now on, they gotta do this the right way !

They’ll start charging for content piece by piece like the TS3 store the second project Rene comes out.
Tbh, I wouldn’t be shocked if they eventually go away from selling packs altogether. They don’t care if people have spent thousands of dollars on the game, they will start giving pack content out as free updates and selling every piece of CAS or BB Content à la carte.

I agree, this game is about to be 11years old, it’s time for an upgrade. The game is already bugged out and it’s been 11years of them not being able to truly fix it, so how is this new stuff really going to work well. The sim fandom is so easily swayed. People complain everyday about the bugged out game , yet so excited for this it just doesn’t make sense.
The thing is, all the ideas on the survey sounded great … on paper. But alas, EA has a proven track record of taking great concepts and making them dull, glitchy and unsatisfying. I want to be excited SO bad for this, but 10 years of woe weighs heavily 😂 I am more interested to hear more about what reworking ‘the engine’ means? Are we looking at core code rewrites to fix the spaghetti code that has plagued this game since birth?
I just took the survey. I would love to have a royal expansion pack. I dont want to rely on mods for literally everything. My favorite mods are the mods that expand gameplay not create entirely new ideas. Like I love expanded mermaids because it expands on gameplay already in base game. Like if they made a royalty expansion pack then a mod could greatly expand on that gameplay & there would be even more to enjoy.
I'm 67% sure that "create a world" was a miscommunication and they simply meant clearing all the builds in an area and building all the lots in a world up from scratch -- like Newcrest. Or at least, this is the excuse they'll use when they fail to deliver and remind us that the things they've already done 15 years ago are "just too difficult" and our expectations are "unrealistic"

I love the modern monarchy expansion idea! Along with the summer camp expansion idea! It sounds like adding a lot of gameplay, worlds, and CAS that are sorely needed in the sims! (And I’m a loser for monarchy gameplay)

Create-A-World sounds interesting. I'd go for future/dystopian/post-apocalyptic kind of vibe. But that's just me.
As for story writing - I'm not into the occult so any story writing I would do would be something along the lines of a snap opera
In fact, I'm in the process of abandoning such an idea on console as EVEN WITH the Lovestruck Pack, consoles don't give me the freedom of creativity I would have by playing them on the PC instead as there's Mods to help me out
I'm even setting up blogs & soon TH-cam channels for the SFW versions of each of my soap operas (The NSFW versions will naturally go elsewhere (Like porn tube sites with blogs on LoversLab) since those would violate TH-cam's TOS 😂)
There Expansion Pack "pitches" sound more like really good spin-off games than things that fit naturally into Sims 4. Maybe the oceanic expansion could expand on Mermaids, the criminal one could expand crime and cops. But some of the others I am like....this would be great as a spin off game. Even with a 90s theme, I'd want house phones and the newspaper and such. Not the current modern sims injected into some experience that doesn't fit with the rest of the game.

I would never even have /dreamed/ of the extreme environment post-apocalyptic survival in the Sims 4, but I would /kill/ for it. (...but then, I'm also a really big fan of Project Zomboid, so that's very much up my alley anyway)
