Getting a Drone Out of a Tree

A friend of mine's son got his new Hubsan drone stuck in a tree a couple of days after Christmas. I thought it would be easy to lift it out with my Phantom 4. There were so many limbs that I couldn't get the hook to the drone. We tried shooting an arrow into the tree with a string attached but the string kept breaking. He got close casting a fishing line with a lead weight on the end, but the fishing line broke too. I finally broke out the Remington 1100 and blasted the limb the drone was hung on. First shot and it came down.
