  • In this video I will show you how to build your very on BlueTooth speaker using a military ammo can. You can use this speaker with a phone, Android or Apple, iPad or any other tablet or play music right from your computer.
    I realized after posting the video that I left out a short segment on connecting the amp. It's very simple. At 28:13 I am showing a wiring harness and it ends with a positive and negative wire with a female connector on each. The power cord to the Bluetooth/amp module plugs in there.

    Nice, clean build. I'm going to do a couple of videos on mine. It's not as clean inside as yours, though. I used larger speakers in a larger can for more frequency response out of the woofers. Call me a bass-head. :)

      Kojak Durham rocking good news! That is the way i am going as i am rescuing the bass, treble and crossover from a pair of bookshelf speakers with damaged cabinets. I think this ammo box idea is totally mint as it is a far more rugged and practical design for field use and actually gains character with a few knocks and scratches. Really looking forward to gigging this at one of our hobo changba parties next summer! 😂😂😂

  • @MrDegsy69
    @MrDegsy69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    This definitely looks a good practical build that will be rugged in the field unlike the poncey commercial off the shelf ones. Just a few things though when clamping the ammo box in the workmate try putting some offcut wood noggins inside the box that fit closely and you can clamp it more tightly without fear of crushing it. Also i did not like the way you did the cut outs on the stencil print side of the box as it looks messy on the finished item. Surely the plain side would have been better?

    • @brentspepper2087
      @brentspepper2087  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually I wanted the stencil side to be showing on the front. I've done a a few using new cans that had no stenciling on them.

    2 questions. First question. How do you do the power cord from the outlet to the cigarette lighter adapter. (What do you use?) Second as everyone else has asked about connecting the amp for power. I saw the video and it shows the wires to connect the amp but not what wire you used from the amp to connect to it. Very confusing both of these questions. Otherwise very informative and I'm looking to build it this weekend but need these answered

    • @brentspepper2087
      @brentspepper2087  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The amp instructions are in the video description above. I guess it was left out because it is so simple. I'm not sure what you mean by "The outlet to the cigarette lighter adapter". It's just a 12 volt charger with clips for negative and positive. Cut the clips off and wire them into a cigarette plug.

  • @Jakeevo90
    @Jakeevo90 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    3 questions.
    How long will the battery last?
    I noticed the amp you linked was 50 watt but the speakers 180 watt, is that right/does that cause any issues?
    To allow the 12v to be used to charge did you have to wore it a different way?

    • @brentspepper2087
      @brentspepper2087  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, I haven't timed it to see how long the battery will last. The speakers being a higher wattage than the amp is not an issue. if it were the other way around then that would be a problem.

    • @MrDegsy69
      @MrDegsy69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jake Evans The only real problem with using speakers with a higher power rating than the op amp is that they may sound a little understated due to the amp being underpowered in relation to them. They will not neccesarily draw more current than the op amp can provide but will definitely lack gain when you crank it up to 11.

    • @shadowort2287
      @shadowort2287 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      180W peak. Those are no more than 50w rms. You pair speakers to amps using rms wattage not peak
