I demoed both of these bikes back to back on the same trail on the same day. Both bikes do everything well. I really couldn’t decide what bike to buy on the trail until I got home. I ended up ordering a SB150 from my LBS which was back in stock yesterday 6/15/20. I liked that I didn’t need to worry about locking out my shock on the yeti. It also felt faster going uphill on steep climbs and switchbacks. You really can’t go wrong with either bike tbh. Great review man
Yeah I can respect that for sure. I loved my SB-150. It was more about economics for me. Switching my support system to a local shop and having multiple brands to choose from the Enduro was the easy choice based on my experience on the yeti... and the starting price for a frame only being 600 cheaper influenced my decision for sure 😉
Projectnortheast MTB I hear you! it was a harder decision than I thought. I have zero complaints about either bike. I’m sure you’ll be happy on the enduro 👌 i love that down tube storage though. Take care and enjoy!
Thanks for the review, great video. However, before buying my last bike (last week) I watched this and some other videos and I had the opportunity of testing the slash, Enduro and the SB150. The slash felt a little bit outdated, it is more playful but it doesn´t give you the confidence of the two other bikes. I had to decide between the Enduro and the SB150 and I chose the yeti, in my personal opinion, it feels more stable, in the rock gardens it feels incredibly softer than the endure and it also feels a little bit more comfortable going uphill.
You really can't go wrong with either bike. However did you test the enduro with the fox X2 rear shock? Apples to apples I found the enduro more capable in the rock gardens. As far as the slash... well I think there's a new one on the horizon 😉
Great video! I rode the 2020 Enduro ‘Elite’ this past season- loved it. I upgraded the handlebars (Renthal carbon), cassette/derailleur/shifter to X01 and cranks/chainring to XX1 and rims to Roval carbon to shed some weight. Any other suggestions to drop some weight and/or help the Enduro pedal a bit more efficiently (including tuning the Rock Shox shock/fork)?
Ya I think your set up is prolly the lightest and best climbing its gonna get. I have an X2 rear shock and I can tell you it doesn't climb as well as the super deluxe. If you build it any lighter I'm afraid when you hit the stuff this bike was designed for you'll just end up breaking something. 😉

I just built a new enduro with the 38/dhx2 & other top components. Bike is crazy how it doesn’t feel that heavy climbing, I haven’t been able to spin the back tire, even in steep loose stuff while standing up. Only two issues for me to sort. 6’4” and I feel like my handlebars (stack) is an inch too low, I’ve put them as high as I can (35mm rise RF & Fork obviously cut now). Have tons of experience on the X2, but the DHX2 felt dead (packing up) my first day at a bike park, ended up running a crazy amount of HSC and rebound, now it feels a lot better. Bike is Fast lol.
Ya I struggled with the enduros dead feeling... always had to run a ton of rebound to get it to pop. Then it would feel harsh in chunk. Liked it, but never really jived with it
@@Projectnortheast The air shock that came on my bike felt poppy without much adjustment, it’s just this coil took more compression than I would have thought
@@Projectnortheast X2 is way more linear (like a coil) than other air shocks, gotta run at least 3 spacers & tune it right for all the bikes I’ve had one on. Runs great then, but yeah, they can take too much time for most people to dial. Surprised we haven’t seen a new design from them yet.
@projectnortheastmtb Late to the party! Great review. I’m trying to decide between the SB150 and the Enduro. After a season of riding, do you still feel that the Enduro is the better bike? Why? Thanks
It depends... the enduro is a big bike and feels heavier on the trail. It doesn't pedal as well but still climbs very well. Its not fun on regular trails atleast with the X2. Definitely alot more pedal able with a super deluxe or similar shock. The yeti is a great bike but Definitely do NOT buy a used one. For me... price being a big factor I cant see owning the yeti over the enduro. The pros on the enduro still outweigh for me the cons vs the sb150
@@Projectnortheast Thanks for the feedback. I may end up with the Yeti with the X2 as I would be buying it from a friend and getting a ridiculous deal and a warranty. Still trying to decide. There are very few options for bikes with everything going crazy in the world at the moment. I believe there are 2 S4 and 2 S5 frames arriving soon for Canada. Not much left and I need to sh!t or get off the pot ASAP.
I'm thinking this plushness thing could have a lot to do with shock tune other than the Enduro having more travel. I just bought an SB165 and not tried it yet, I'm expecting it to be plusher than the 150... But the funny thing is when you look at the graphs on linkage design. The Enduro actually has higher antisquat values that don't drop off like the Yeti, and also less rearward axle path than the Yeti too, so theoretically on a kinemayic basis the Yeti should be more supple, especially deeper in the travel on repetetive large hits. I think therr is a lot going on with the damping tunes of these shocks here. It's like when they reviewed the Capra 29 and Megatower and said they felt harsh on mid size hits. That was all damper tune beinv overly damped. The Capra is by far the plushest bike I've ever ridden.
Both the sb150 and enduro sworks come stock with their tuned X2s. The "plushness" I speak of in the vid isnt really about the initial stroke the enduro is more composed in high speed rock gardens etc. Than the sb150 was. My buddy has a mullets sb165 with a coil and I have to say that is prolly plusher than both off the initial stroke
Ya that's a tough one. I have a bunch of buddies on the MEGATOWER. But honestly I think the enduro climbs ever so slightly better. And even if they were the same exact bike I would own the specialized simply for the swat box etc. I love it
Thanks! Honestly it really depends on what terrain your looking to ride. My other bike is a Stumpy ST with a 140 fork. I love it for anything local and prefer the quickness of it. But, if your riding alot of big mountains and long descents, and big bike park features etc. I would look at the enduro. I mean, it's a 32lb (even with my build) mini DH rig lol
Projectnortheast MTB Thanks a lot! To be honest I am going to ride pretty much everything, so I guess either the Stumpy LT or the Enduro will do. People who have ridden the Enduro also state it may even pedal better than the Stumpy. So I guess I will have to choose one. Many thanks, I appreciate it!
@@ioannisparaskevopoulos1120 I think it pedals as good as probably the long travel stumpy. But it's also alot more aggressive and more suspension and geo is longer and slacker. Which is why I decided to have my trail bike be the Short travel version. I hope someday soon we see a 130mm version of the enduros suspension platform... that would make a sick trail bike.
Hey thanks a lot for the review and comparison. I'm waiting for my S3 frame to arrive here in BC. A few questions for you. Can you comment on frame size/your height and stem length you chose. Also how are you finding the Nobl wheels? Is there a reason you went with the TR38 over the new TR37? Thanks!
So I'm riding an S3 with a 40mm stem. I calculated the reach feel based on my sb150 with a 33mm stem. Basically I'm usually pretty comfortable on a 24" top tube with a 40ish mm stem. I'm just shy of 5'10" but longer arms. I love the nobl wheels. I am an ambassador for Nobl but sought to be. I went with the 38s only because the 37s were not available at the time.
Hey that's great info. I was hoping to get the OneUp stem to not tap my fork for the EDC tool and they come in 35mm and 50mm. I've heard several times that the 50mm stem seemed long for the reach and beings that I'm under 5'9 and have normal length arms, I'll probably shoot for the 35mm stem. Was also planning to get Nobl wheels so great to hear about your good experience. Thanks for the quick response and looking forward to more videos
Interesting... currently on a SB150, the fear I have is the decrease in pedaling efficiency with the Enduro. But sounds like you'd take it over the 150.
It really depends on what your gonna use it for... the Sb150 would probably be a better one do it all bike. The enduro is alot of bike but performs extremely well and charges chunk better.
Projectnortheast MTB I only ride chunk, and avoid cross country style trails. Plus the occasional bike park day. I just need to find a shop that will let me demo one. I want that extra rear travel and frame storage. Haha
