Castles, arcades, and beautiful bays in CARDIFF 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 | Do NOT overlook Wales!

It was another city we never intended to visit -- but after exploring London, Edinburgh, and Belfast, it was only fair to venture to Wales and round out the U.K. capitals. Lucky for us, we had a great time! Cardiff Castle was far more impressive than we expected, the arcades were filled with cool shops, the bay area was beautiful, and there was some VERY unique architecture on display. We get the impression Wales is often overlooked (hell, we're guilty of overlooking it ourselves when we planned this massive trip), but do yourself a favor and pay it a visit if you're ever in the U.K. We only saw the capital, but one day we intend to see even more of this great country!
Oh, and side note: it has THE coolest flag. Hands down.

For some Welsh cultural pointers just search for some Max Boyce videos, Welsh comedian and folk singer. His rugby songs are legendary and his 'Live at Treorchy' concert is a classic.

I moved from London to Wales 22 years ago, no regrets at all. Love their culture. Did you know that Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien was heavily influenced by Welsh when creating the Elvish language for his books.
