Very nice tool to have thanks for sharing. My 2016 235i gets delivered today 30k miles and 1 owner and Carfax has shown regular maintenance over the years and two regular maintenance this year so pray it’s in good condition and hope they already did the problem areas of this car but if not I’ll be doing myself
This would make perfect sense for someone who is planning to work on more than one car at a time, most likely business wise and fix the same sorts of issues... which seem to be pretty universal when it comes to F-chassis cars.
@@FritzRamos Mate, you’re a big part of the reason my M2 is still going. Crazy for me to say in 2023 but it’s no lie. Was it hard? Unbelievably hard. Was it worth it? Absolutely.
@@FritzRamos Well, credit is due and your videos have also given me a huge wealth of knowledge on the 2 series platform - enough to be able to do some major surgery myself and feel confident enough doing so. I’m not sure you’re on BF but you may have seenu posts on the pump transplant, not for the feint of heart!
@Fritz Ramos Tell me, does this version of Otofix D1 lite have anything reduced? I read somewhere that there are no active tests, for example the fuel pump, etc. If you could say something more. And I'm considering Otofix or Xtoll. What would you choose, what is better? Sorry for the English but I hope you will understand everything.
If you have any insight on the ability to continue to update Otofix diagnostic scanners after the split between autel and them, please let me know. Autel is giving me the runaround on the answer. Autel is no longer a part of Otofix fyi
Just got my hands on one and was capable of relearning/resetting the CAS/Security system that had my car no crank/ no start. 100% a tool that’ll pay itself in the long run with BMW’s. Absolute live saver.
Hey Fritz, I had a Foxwell scanner that worked for my e90 but doesn't read the F22. I have BimmerLink and the MHD tuning scan app. I like that this can be used on multiple cars. Are you abandoning Bimmerlink/Code or is this an addition to the arsenal?
This is definitely going to be an add on. Bimmercode and Bimmerlink are great because they're mobile. I also think they fit a different need like coding in and adding in features. While the Otofix will act as the big servicing scan tool.

Right on! Congratulations! I hope you have a good time with your car and nothing needs to be one right away.

@@zildog OG M2?! You give me too much credit. I'm sure you would have an awesome M2 regardless and I love how you have enjoyed the journey so far!

Thx for making a video about a diagnostic car scanner without going fully into the engine options and transmission which is what mechanic's care bout.

@@educationaltvshows9950 2007 bmw 328i; I've heard it's pretty capable with the newer gens too.
Does this scanner work on medium duty trucks also??
Can it do the transmission adaptation values clear? Or should i get d1 pro ?
You didn't cover the key fob programming.. this was one of my main reasons for purchasing this tool.
That feature does not work for BMWs
@FritzRamos Gotcha 👍..
Otofix, they should do an update for BMW's. Thanks Fritz!
@@TruePatriot59is there a certain model year this works on? Ie 2010-2018 or does it depend on the manufacturer?
