I think you completely missing that the Joy con attach to a separate rail when they demonstrate the mouse function. It's similar to how the original Joy cons had an additional rail attachment that slides on. It seems like these one for the 2 just snap on.
I think the "C" button could still be the "C" button. The footage we're seeing here is a render, not pictures of an actual unit. They could be making the C button nondescript in the render to have a big unveil of the feature in the April Direct.
@@wes008pwns the “C” could probably change by region, since it could signify a word that does not translate easily to other languages. This might be why it wasn’t shown.
5:09 that extra button will be a Shortcut button. In the settings you go to the option that fast tracks something you set it for. Power menu, a certain game, NSO, whatever u set it to.
@92DixonYoMouth92 that makes sense. But April 2 2025 is a good release date for this console because it's before my birthday and the date is perfect for Nintendo to show off in the direct and allow people to buy it day and date.
12:50 One thing to keep in mind is that the player indicator light is now facing you, instead of being rotated 90 degrees like the old joycons, so even if the connector's color is always blue/red, it's still pretty easy to see which player you are. I'd be fine with different color connectors though, as you won't really see the inside track often.
I think the reason the receptors are blue and orange is so that we know which side is left and which is right. With both sides having a usb c port, I can imagine a lot of people accidentally getting the tablet upside down by accident and trying to connect the joycons
Hey! I’m the one that originally brought wonky connector into focus from the comments in Nintendo’s original launch video. Happy to answer any questions and I’m glad you are highlighting that! I’m glad to hear “people are already saying that” because from what I have seen, that’s like the one thing people aren’t talking about!
If people are paying attention to the video, you have to press a button to release the joy con so unless they he-man or hook the joy out there or rip it out it is not an issue whatsoever people just looking to try to find issues where there are not any pay attention again and look at the video
Summer would be a good release date. However, it comes down to the Switch 2 game direct. April might be a look into the features with gameplay to demonstrate them. I still say a fall release only because it's a safer bet.
Imagine if they had announced the direct on April 1st. Everyone would think it's a joke, and then Nintendo would probably do it with a bunch of fake games, and then at the end say, "btw, switch 2 releases today, check out the new games in the eshop".
My great great great great grandfather's friends nephew worked at Nintendo when they made cards and he said that they will make sure that the Joy Con connector is secure and doesn't break.
You missed that the Joy-Con landed into the new wrist strap accessory and had them race around in “mouse form” in them. That button up by the R button is probably the release button.
TL;DR: There are barely any, detail or easter egg in the video, just the dude speculating on stuff. The rest was straight up informations we got. 1. Donkey is getting a makeover 2. There's a rumor that we get a Nintendo Direct for switch 1 stuff in february. 3. Concern about failure point on joycons connectors 4. Joycon can be place "side"-down and be used like a mouse using the strap attachment. 5. In the trailer, the C-Button is only a square. Don't know if it's because Nintendo is hiding it, or it's the actual design 6. Mario Kart tracks has 24 slots for players at the start of the race, hinting race can have up to 24 players instead of 12. 7. switch 2 price is allegedly 400-450$ USD(???) 8. Location for Public Events to try the switch 9. Date for public event. 10. Concern about the color inside the joycons connector, not matching the color on the joycon connector
I wouldnt be suprised if the colored inset part of the joycon rail on the sytem was swappable too. Having it be a little nub seems easy to damage, so having the whole insert be hot swappable makes sense.
Ok hear me out, maybe I'm late to this concept. They are giving us mouse, right? We can safely assume this will have beefed up software, aka better Bluetooth compatibility. What if the big new feature is that you can connect a keyboard, opening up the world to PC games! The first switch jumped boundaries with being able to play games on the go. But that is still very limited. They've talked about Call of Duty in the past, right? This could be a way of competing with the steam deck even more too? So many possibilities! I don't know these are just my thoughts on the issue. What do you think?
Nintendo makes those little caps for the Joycons, to attach a lanyard. Maybe a similar kind of cap would be a good idea for the Switch 2 body itself? Something to just pop on the end and protect that port?
I'm wondering if the colours aren't actually in the console slots but it's just to communicate the left/right connections for this video. There isn't a price so maybe it's not at risk of being misleading from a legal perspective.
So do the joycons have an adapter for the mouse feature? It looks like something snaps onto it as it turns into a mouse and then jumps off the table and the adapter keeps sliding past?
I’m very happy how quickly the internet has embraced the DK redesign. Honestly all of the Illumination character designs had me pumped because it destroyed limitations many fans didn’t even realize were there. In DK’s case, his brow was always a limitation on how expressive his eyes could be. Old DK’s brow always partially covered his eyeballs. They changed his brow in the film to allow for more easily recognizable emotion. Peach had a similar problem with her incredibly tiny eyebrows and mouth. It’s difficult to see from this trailer, but it looks like Peach has been updated to resemble her film counterpart which will do big favors for her expressiveness. Lastly, there’s Bowser. I’ve been saying for ages that they need to shrink that dude’s head because it looks weird and doesn’t allow him to turn his head much. He had the Batman cowl problem. But Illumination addressed that, and sure enough it looks like Bowser’s head size was shrunken in-game as well! I just LOVE these changes! ❤ Couldn’t be happier.
Perhaps…Mario Kart Maker? Build your own tracks? Anybody notice that the switch itself has a metallic color, not just flat black. Slight silver flakes.
You’re talking about the connection colors, here I am thinking, darn I hate orange and I want a white dock. One of the biggest reasons I got the animal crossing switch is because it was white and pastel colors. It even bugs me that the grip isn’t a matching white, and that the buttons on the animal crossing joycons are black. I hope they make a white pastel one.
@ the console can have both OLED and DLSS. The price for components have really come down from 8 years ago to now and component manufacturers know this is going to sell like pancakes so it should all account to the price being cheaper. The only way $449 makes sense is if it also is OLED.
@@alejandrocaraza it's been heavily reported not to have OLED, once again it's only affecting the Handheld users so I don't give an ass about what they think..
I don't think this is the color scheme we'll get. the sides of the Switch2 will be black with white highlights for the symbol as per the leaked production photos. The colours in the video are to emphasise the design.
I'm happy that they finally come out with it. I feel April is too long to be talking about it again. Hopefully that date gets moved forward.. or they do some shadow drop teasers in Feb and march.
Yes, that protruding connector sticks out like a sore thumb. Looks vulnerable and weak. So is this kid friendly? I don't really take my Switch1 out in the wild so I'm all good, mostly play in docked mode. So this will only affect those who take their consoles on the go. I mean from now on we'd have to be extremely careful whilst detaching and attaching Joy Cons. Or just leave em on and only play in docked mode. Def not a deal breaker for me. Def grabbing the MK9 bundle. Hopefully there is a PRO controller we can also pre-order on April 2nd.
I believe they are which will help give the snap sound they are looking for and to hold them in place. The ports you see help transfer inputs to the console
Will you become switchforce 2 now??? 👍
Cool name, I think it would be cool.
Switch 2 force
Switch 2 force does have a better ring to it
I like switch force 2 it’s more catchy name.
Too Force Switch
That "sync" button is to release the plastic mouse attachment.
I dont think he even knows about the attachment. Idk why he didn't mention it
This is the wrist strap too.
Yeah I was thinking that. The sync button is clearly visible in the middle of the rail part below the connection slot on the joycon.

This. It's just not being revealed yet. 99% sure they're not showing it at this time.
I thought this was the case after rewatching the trailer reveal.
Look at the video right before the Joycon slides, the plastic is attached with the straps then after it finishes sliding they come off.
2:20 I don't think I could even break it off if I tried to
5:09 that extra button will be a Shortcut button. In the settings you go to the option that fast tracks something you set it for. Power menu, a certain game, NSO, whatever u set it to.
I think they are going to show and sell the switch 2 on 4.2.2025. the day of the switch 2 direct.
Directly at the start of their fiscal year. Could make sense. I’ll be ready to buy either way
@92DixonYoMouth92 that makes sense. But April 2 2025 is a good release date for this console because it's before my birthday and the date is perfect for Nintendo to show off in the direct and allow people to buy it day and date.
@ only thing is the dates for people to see it early at the events. I think they will be on preorder but not released quite yet.
12:50 One thing to keep in mind is that the player indicator light is now facing you, instead of being rotated 90 degrees like the old joycons, so even if the connector's color is always blue/red, it's still pretty easy to see which player you are. Number one Donkey Kong look is what he looks like from the movie that was released
DK looks like the OG Mario kart snes design
That was DK JR I believe.
Sad you can't tell this is a next gen MK game.
@@EarthsGeomancer yeah i wish they had ray tracing and 4k textures and a massive lens flare that blinds you from the screen

There is no shot they drop this console at $450/$500. Nick is clueless
My guess has been between 450 and 600. The Switch will essentially stay the same price for a while. That's my guess.

From what I’ve heard the new Mario kart game might be an open world style game kinda like Forza
I noticed there was no IR sensor on the right joycon
No it there it is just really blended in with the joy con color

No. They want it to break so you buy more controllers
Is that new characters on a old track? No one has said anything about the track the cars are racing on in the trailer video?!
I think be three months away for the direct, sounds different instead march but I hope be cool.
Why would they do this to my boy DK. I miss the old 64 DK who resembled a roll up your sleeves and take care of business type of ape protagonist 😢
I wonder how switch modding would work now
You missed that the Joy-Con landed into the new wrist strap accessory and had them race around in “mouse form” in them. That button up by the R button is probably the release button.
