When I Rev the engine to 2000rpm, the low side pressure pulls down to around 60psi. My result is a weak Compressor. Condenser fan (which is just one fan) spins just fine.

    My 170k mile 2009 Ford Fusion only has one cooling fan, and it comes on when the ac is turned, but the ac is not cooling at idle and barely does while driving 55mph on a 95 degree day. It has a new condenser (the old one had a pinhole leak in it), and I replaced the compressor at the same time and had a shop put the right refrigerant charge in it. It also has a new TXV. Any ideas? Could the cooling fan not be turning fast enough due to a bad control module (that I think has multiple resistors on it for the various speeds called for, depending on engine cooling and ac cooling needs?)

      Theres no need to second guess my ability to do anything dude. Every thing I say on my channel merely my opinion. You also entitled to your opinion. In some cases opinions clash. Such as this one. The setup you speaking about do not apply to this vehicle. The condensor on this car in fact wide and require both fans to work for it to operate properly. So yes, both fans have to operate on this car for max cooling to occur. Also nobody said the sys was full. You didnt see a real hi high side pressure ? and a little bit hi low side ? Thats our first clue about no fan, or not enough fan. We often get them where the fan is running, but too slow (fan old and tired). Also, where we are from, we have to add anther condensor fan in front, run off a relay from the clutch. (115 degrees in the summer) Makes the AC way cooler, keeps your high side prssures way down

    Ok so I need your help! My car was overheating but we figured out that the little square plug in piece on the drivers side closest to the battery/headlights had a short. So we taped it to work all the time and I have to unplug it when the car is off for longer than like 5-10 mins. However, the reason we did not do a toggle switch is because someone said it would affect my A.C. That’s why we are using this method until I can get someone to tell me which of the (3?) sensors is messed up. Anyway, the car tried to overheat the other day so we had to re-tape it a little tighter but now my a.c. Is out completely. It blows but it’s hot air pretty much. Do you think it has something to do with this issue or does it just need some Freon (or whatever it’s called lol)?

      I’m gonna go check right now and see about the fans but I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. I think there’s only 1 fan but I’m not sure lol 😂

      @chelseafuller8412 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also it worked great with the taping of the piece until the other day. I think because we have taken it out so many times maybe we moved the tape but it was only a temporary fix anyway. One more thing: I have the new piece but the fan isn’t coming on because of one of the (3?) sensors isn’t telling it to come on. That’s why the piece I am talking about is taped in the first place. It keeps the fan on all the time. That’s why we have to take it out

      Literally helping my boy fix his 300 A/C right now. When you’re at idle the fans don’t spin because they activate when temps get high and the car gets an alert like “hey !! Cool me down cause I’m starting to get hot”. So no, they ain’t supposed to run. HOWEVER, if they don’t cut on when you turn the AC then you have a problem pa

  • @emtpres2004
    @emtpres2004 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not all electric fan setups run both fans at the same time. It’s normal for one fan to constant run and the other kick off and on with a signal from a coolant temp sensor. Now if that second fan isn’t kicking on and off when commanded by the pcm then you have a fan issue. Most the time it’s a filthy condenser bc people never think to clean them. It’s even worse and more common in places that are drier climate with more dust. Always try a condenser clean before replacing fans.

    • @OnlineMechanicTips
      @OnlineMechanicTips  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have great points. But on this set up, yes, both fans should be on at the same time. If one is not and the power/ground at the connector then its simply the fan. th-cam.com/users/shortsFbIUXiOHdU8

    How are pressures normal if fan was not operating? Head pressure would be elevated due to heat not being rejected from condenser.

    • @OnlineMechanicTips
      @OnlineMechanicTips  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Normal as in the amout. Based off those pressure reading, one can assume the sys not empty. Meaning that the reason for AC not cooling is not because the AC sys empty. And for the record, on some cars, the fan not even needed until high side pressure reach a certain amount. So the AC may be cold when first started.

      @@OnlineMechanicTips that's how ac and refrig works. If fan ran all the time during low ambients, head pressure would drop too low and system would start to ice up. Also expansion devices do not work well below 90 degrees condensing temp. That's why the fans cycle during low loads/ambients. It's not an opinion, it's physics.

      Dude you all over the place. In this video is a 2008 Dodge Caravan with only 1 fan working. Ya original comment is that how could pressure be normal if fan not working. That was explained in my second comment to you. What part of this exchange is the dis agreement? The car need both fans to operate properly. Are you suggesting that it dont?
