- How to upgrade a stock master cylinder to a V6 1" master cylinder. You can also use an FJ80 Land Cruiser master cylinder for this swap. 4 cylinder Toyota Pickups and 4Runners came with a 13/16" master cylinder, and a 7/8" master cylinder in later years. When adding big tires, rock sliders, and other off-road and 4x4 equipment, the stock braking system often falls short. This easy upgrade can improve your braking performance for as little as $50.

You only did part of the upgrade, a dual diaphragm booster from a V-6 4 runner would have made it soooo much better

Insted of bending tge line should of just loosen it at the T and repositioned it....

Did this work? I would guess that a smaller bore would produce more psi for a given force. More throw, but more pressure.
What kind of brake pads and calipers did you used? Keep up the nice video.
If I replace mine will I still need a proportioning valve for a disc brake conversion?

It's landcruiser front rotors, v6 4runner front calipers, and factory IFS rear end + brakes.
Do i need to have big tires to upgrade? I have a 2wd 86 pickup and its leaking from master cinder before I go buying it would like to know whats the difference?
Do you need to replace the booster as well?

They are 2nd gen 4runner V6 calipers and just generic brand brake pads that fit the caliper.
@@RM_Garage what type of rotors? i am putting 2nd gen brakes on my first gen 4runner and the calipers bolted right up after some trimming, but the pads dont want to fit with my factory 87 rotors. would second gen rotors fix this?
