Speaker:
陳昇宏 (Sheng S.-H. Chen), Principal Investigator, Laboratory for Cell Dynamics, Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica, Taiwan
I am an Assistant Research Fellow in the Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. My laboratory investigates regulatory logic underlying emergent properties of biochemical systems, including oscillators, switches, and trigger waves especially those that control cell death, differentiation and metabolic homeostasis. We use quantitative approaches including experiments, informatics and modeling. I have an interdisciplinary background in quantitative biology, with specific trainings and expertise in microscopic imaging, biochemistry, and mathematical modeling. As a principal investigator, my group identified a buffering mechanism against biochemical noise for robust oscillations. Inspired by the intricate crosstalk between signaling and metabolism, my group laid the groundwork of redox bistable switches that govern metabolic homeostasis and cell death propagation as trigger waves.

李儷雯 (Liwen Li), Senior Researcher and lecturer at University of Regensburg
Dr. Liwen Li is a distinguished expert in sustainable cities, communities, and the nexus of urban health with green networks. With a robust background in research, she pioneered Taiwan's first low-carbon community planning project, assessing household carbon footprints and sustainable energy. Dr. Li introduced groundbreaking principles of sustainable energy engagement, fostering a novel theory in self-sustaining management. Beyond her research, Dr. Li collaborates with global public-private sectors to champion sustainable development, earning accolades like the German DAAD, American Fulbright, and Taiwanese MOST research awards. Educated in architecture and landscape architecture in Taiwan, she pursued landscape management at Sheffield University. She earned her Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the National Taiwan University and underwent postdoctoral training in sustainable energy at the University of California, Berkeley, and Davis. Dr. Li served as an Assistant Professor at Tunghai University, Taiwan, for four years. Since 2020, she's been a scientific researcher at the University Regensburg's Department of Experimental Psychology. In 2022, she joined the Regensburg Center for Energy and Resources as a research consultant. Her primary research interests lie in environmental psychology, emphasizing urban green networks and sustainable energy.
