1987 Ford E350 4WD Pathfinder van in the snow

  • This is a short video of me seeing just how much snow my 1987 Ford E350 Pathfinder conversion (Quadravan) can handle in 4WD high. It didn't do too well in a 30 inch drift. Wish I had a locked differential.

    That is some deep snow. Even with lockers and chains you would have been plowing snow with your front axle. Get a locker in the rear, (LSD or selectable up front) got one in my van and most of the time I don’t need 4x4. Cam chains if you regularly deal with that much snow. Long live the brick front!

    Just like my old 88 f 150 . The famous 2wd 4x4 . You’re in need of posi on one end. Bad ass van though

      Sorry for the delay, I had forgotten that I put this video on the tube. It’s a Pathfinder conversion. My understanding is that Pathfinder used to buy new Ford vans, convert them, then sell them.

    If you rock your front wheels side to side that will make your will it's not turning engage and start turning while trying to move forward or backwards you can grip on the edges of your wheel tread and will help you move

    Next time listen to the wife and buy a Black Porsche Cayenne Twin Turbo 4x4 SUV with 500hp and air lift suspension. I know I did and she still loves me long time.

      Agreed. Have no money though. Keep in mind that this was a "new-to-me" rig and I didn't know if it had lockers yet.

    Fulltime 4wd, but tcase isn't in 4 lock.

      Um, nope. It has a 2WD/4WDH/4WDL TC. Just no lockers, and it was empty. No weight in the back.

      evan burdick that’s what happens without building your axles. Lockers and an lsd help a lot
