    A set of older rear fenders with small snowflake tail lights would look cool too..great video...a convertible bug with those old school fenders front and rear would look good too...

    I'm doing this on my 71 currently. I found a set of fenders but they are just the fenders at the moment. What's the best way to complete them with lights and blinkers? I'm not sure what all I'll need. Also did you have any issues leaving the late front apron when you put that early hood on?

    Beside the small "grill mesh" under the headlights and the opening for the front bumper is located at the fenders and not the front apron.
    Are the fenders from 67 and 68-70 the same?
    Cheers!

    Can add the 67 Front Fender on a 66 or earlier year without mods?
    About your project does the hood close well since it's longer?

    Hi.
    You didn't have to change the front apron?
    If that's the case you can install a front fender and front hood from a 67 right?
    Cheers

    • @HiRevzMedia
      @HiRevzMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can install pretty much and year fenders and/or hood on any standard Beetle with minimal issues. Without changing the front apron, the hood will not latch. If you want it to latch, then the appropriate front apron would need to be installed. However, in a later video, I just made custom leather straps for it.

      Since you beetle has the later rear light. If I would change the rear fenders and add snowflake rear lights would there be any issue with wiring the rear lights?
      Cheers!

    • @HiRevzMedia
      @HiRevzMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tolinanelda2448 I was originally planning on changing the rear fenders and lights also. The wiring would probably be a little different, but shouldn’t be too hard to figure out with a test light.

    Looks perfect.. Does the hood latch properly?

    • @HiRevzMedia
      @HiRevzMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, the latch is not in the same position. I’ve got an idea though. That video will be coming out soon.

  • @vdubluv222
    @vdubluv222 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I just picked up a 68 vert and was thinking about doing the early fenders... I didn't think the hood would latch to the late style front apron. are you just setting it down or does it actually latch? i guess the latch really doesn't work on my other bugs anyway. LOL

    • @HiRevzMedia
      @HiRevzMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The apron style is the same, but the latch will definitely not work. I had it bungeed down in this video. In the next couple videos, you will see I did custom leather straps, like an old Porsche.

    You did have to change the front apron to change to the 66 fenders correct? If not how did you fit the longer style hood?

    • @stevegearlds7227
      @stevegearlds7227 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I meant you had to change the front apron to accept the 66 hood correct? I know the fenders will directly bolt up but didn’t think the 66 and earlier hood could be added without changing the front apron.

    • @HiRevzMedia
      @HiRevzMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I did not. The style of the front Apron didn’t change for many years, but the hood latch did. So the hood will still close and look correct, but will not latch.
