this was actually incredibly helpful insight tho....im watching this and just turned 25 this june, i actually had a similar audition experience where i entered kpop star audition during 2011 when i was 16, got into the 2nd round but couldnt make the in-person audition because my parents wouldnt let me so i kinda gaveup that audition dream and went the dance battle route for the next 10yrs instead (i bgirl competitively at jams, cypher/freestyle with locking, popping, house), which i hit a really good peak during 2014-2018 (so technically i have about 2009-present of dance&battle exp) however, ever since quarantine started, in person jams have all been shutdown and cancelled in america, and it got me thinking of wanting to try again for kpop auditions and submit some footage for the online applications. (feel free to check my battle footage & dance videos on my channel) honestly even if i dont get thru, i still agree with what you said, to be a self-funded idol thru social media/youtube, since times have changed and the internet's given people 25+ more chances at artistic goals

Should I audition for JYPE? I am really young and I was wondering if i should talk to my parents about this because I am really passionate for this and to be honest I am really good at dancing and my vocals are decent but I am Laos and I cannot speak Korean that well though, I can speak a little bit. I talked to some people and they said that dancers have more chances of being selected and I'm not that good in dancing. I can dance freestyle but hip-hop isn't my cup of tea. So do my chances of being selected decreases?

Hello can i ask a question its okk to audition in online or live because some say that if you audition in online you dont have a chance to accept and did jype message you if you failed or accept?
People do get accepted online, especially during this pandemic. I did not get a reply yet for , so If this continues for the next 2 months I guess I failed.

What is your opinion on companies listing their "age restrictions" as "any age"? Do you still think they are looking for people under 25? There are of course companies that say they want people born up to a certain year, but some do not list age restrictions at all and do not seem to care as much on their audition pages.
