I'd second what Sandy said. Simon and his team are first class. I learnt with them this year. If you are thinking of learning to fly I can't recommend them highly enough. www.paramotortraining.com
I watched this when I was drunk and forgot to comment. Brilliant Sir, just brilliant. Well done on your first solo overland. Your confidence has just gone up 1000%. As confidence and experience grows you must remind yourself more often of old pilots.... Never be afraid to turn around. Always err on the side of caution.
Yeay Sandy - Born to Fly! Well done my friend, you put a big grin on my face. I know you've had a lifelong urge to fly and now you've found a way to do it without having to mortgage the house again. Hey Ho - now get back to the workshop and the allotment. See you soon. Love to all, Noel
LOL Yes the workshop can wait til Monday morning and the allotment will have to be dug over in October so hopefully some more flying in the week ahead weather permitting, but starting to feel quite comfortable with this new hobby. I am gaining my "air legs":)) Will have something for you later this week. A thankyou for the Clik stand!! Sandy
Cracking light you captured here, showing off the stunning aerial landscapes of Wiltshire. And to cap it all, you give us the most marvellous views of your flying machine in flight, along with your compelling narration. Thank you. Brilliant stuff!
Sandy, never would I consider going up in the air in a paramotor. However, I thank you for sharing this great experience. I could almost feel the chill in the air. You have become the drone. Keep up the great videos, God bless.
Sandy your out of control, you continue to amaze me with your interests and skills. I started watching you for your ham radio videos, turns out your a true renaissance man!
Brilliant first 25 K Sandy. I really enjoyed that. Hey you went past Wayland Smithy. Good to see the landmarks. You know what it's great some club members filming you coming in - good for technique or approach adjustments. Top end message. All the best up there...ha ha! Mark
LOL Thanks Mark, This is one hobby that the more you do it the better and safer you become. And yes you mentioned technique. You are quite right, with the correct technique it is not demanding at all. Take care Mark. Sandy
A pleasure Sandy. It's fabulous seeing you really getting a kick out of this. Have a great week. Off up to Scotland next week...my first time up there. Should be good. Mark
That was fantastic Sandy , thanks for taking us along. Your're an amazing bloke with so many talents , i'm quite envious :) Top stuff as always ........ ALB ,Ian
A wonderful flight and a safe landing , epic adventure SANDY , WELL DONE :-) I took a bad fall Tuesday down my basement steps , had a few cracled ribs & a concussion , , I'm home now , but the 1st thing I did when I woke up was to see your most recent download.
Brilliant video sandy great flight great ariel shots I enjoyed every minute of it well done mate I applaud you look forward to more of these..thanks for sharing.
that was absolutely brilliant I knew everywhere you were describing as I live around here it looks better from up there thank you very much for sharing.
Excellent viewing, really enjoyed the presentation thank you for taking us with you Sandy. I stopped for a coffee at Membury Services today and took a look at the sky, didn't see you, the conditions were poor, and then over the fence at the airfield, it was nice to see where all the drama occurred! Thank you for posting.
Wow Sandy ,Thank you so much for taking us all along for that fantastic experience..you really multitasked up there... several different angles on the selfie stick & you used your foot as a pointer lol I hope you kept the Milk Tray chocs safe.. seriously though just Brilliant 😁😊😯😉😎
Great video Sandy, looking forward to when you fly in tooled up for a camping weekend, now that would be an awesome vid! Best wishes mate can't wait for the next one.
One thing to say about this video Sandy... Adrenaline Rush! Seeing you up there had me fixated on this video...must feel absolutely amazing. Best wishes - Steve
I have been watching your videos on wild camping for a while, this video is something special and a different side to your life which you are Awesome at ! 👍
Your obviously our next James Bond, Sandy, my heart was in my mouth during the whole multi task flight, my hat off to mate what an achievement, looking forward to many more adventures. Well done, an inspection, I'll need a lie down now after all that. Harry.😨
Outstanding Biggles. What a rush that must have given you and what a landing that was. You made it look so easy which I am sure it was not. It sounded like a squadron of Spitfires. You even had a beautiful rainbow to your left during the early part of the flight to accompany you. Flightradar here you come. Awe inspiring. Well done Sir :)
What a great adventure you are having Sandy - really enjoyed seeing this, it sounds in your voice and breathing that the adrenaline was pumping a bit as you were getting yourself set up - well done friend, I've just come back from cycling the south downs, lots of Paragliders hanging about on the winds. your engine makes for many more options. PS. no idea what the range is but there is a grass strip airfield about 1/2 mile from old Allens!!!
Congratulations on your first solo flight Sandy. Have been looking forward to it. What an amazing video!! Thanks for sharing. Love ALL your videos. Love to Elsa and Jess.
What a great video Sandy, you have a lot more courage than I do, the view is fantastic but it would make my heart stop. More power to you. Thanks for taking me along!
Thanks Buzzardgirl. I flew higher than the Buzzards today. Infact I had another flight after this one which I didn't video and went much higher. It is so nice to look down on the landscape:) Sandy
Hi Sharon, It was quite amazing being up there. I have just got back from another 2 flights at Membury. These to refine my spot landing skills. I also found a really beautiful valley that I flew over at 500ft. Now I am back on the ground there is work to do. The allotment beckons:)
Sandy, you are a man with limitless courage! Amazing. All you need is a knife, a stove and a rifle, oh and ride your bike during take off, and maybe a drone to film the potential array of activities at once whilst flying. It's out of my courage zone mate. Well done, awesome landing!
Sandy, you've raised your videos to a whole new level. Not enough that you did that amazing flight, but filming it with both the GoPro AND a selfie stick? Wow. Great effort, mate. Really well done. It was a little nostalgic for me to see the lovely English countryside, now that I've lived in Canada for so long. I followed along on Google Earth and was able to get extra context. Thanks again!
Congratulations, on your solo cross country, looks awesome, flying above the clouds with the wind at your back, a bit scary but brilliant fun too. Thanks for sharing.
It was good to see my ground speed pickup John. Cross wind and head winds are slow going. I could have let out more trim and made headway but I am still a very new pilot. Maybe next flight I will let the trims out more. There is also a speed bar that can be installed to further increase the wings trim speed.
Hi Mic it's not a parachute. It doesn't float like a parachute it flies like a wing, has an aerofoil cross section, can be stalled and can spin just like a solid wing and also has a glide ratio. Hope you get to try it. Sandy
Sandy you are a braver man than me! awesome flight.. it must feel amazing to be flying free like that. I do have a fear of heights but for some reason this looks so appealing.. I may have some lessons myself, thanks for bringing us along on your adventure, and thank you for the inspiration pal!! atb Paul.
Hi Paul, I think a lot of fear of height comes from a feeling of not being in control. When you are flying under a paraglider wing you have a sense of control and all feels OK to me. Paramotoring maybe something that you can do as there are some pilots that had the same fear that you have but don't experience it when flying.
Fantastic Sandy!!!! Great day for it , just wait for winter you get such calm smooth days with little thermals . I to was in the air yesterday with my first glider lesson. It's addictive
Fantastic, amazing, brilliant, stupendous, stunning, beautiful, thrilling, oh, and did I say I enjoyed it!. I suppose once Rick sees this, that will be another hobby. Ha ha.
Sandy my stomach was in my mouth for that flight, wow well done mate. That was so cool. Liked the camera angle looking back at you and the paramotor too. Great scenery. What's it like to fly above the clouds yourself ? Awesome. Well done mate. Keep making the right decisions and stay safe :).
Great flight Sandy, I have my Paragliding licence but ive had to take a break due to financial commitment. Thank you for sharing..The feeling you get from each flight is simply amazing.
Loved every minute of that sandy to start with I was a little nauseous wish I had the head to give it a go the views are unbelievable look forward to the next flight 👍

Outstanding!!! Well done Sandy! My wife and I wish we were in better health so we could try this, but at 64 years old it's a bit too late for us. Thank you for bring us along! You looked to be up around 2,000 feet? Sincerely, Ossie and Karen

You made that landing look so darn easy! Good job Sandy and what a FANTASTIC CC flight!! :-)
Thanks Peter it was indeed a fantastic adventure
Superb Sandy, Congratulations. You made it look easy
I don’t think my vertigo would allow this , I take my hat off to you ... amazing 👌
Magic Sandy, leaving a perfectly serviceable aircraft via parachute never really sat well, but you've sold Paramotor to me! Great stuff - best Mic
Hi Mic it's not a parachute. It doesn't float like a parachute it flies like a wing, has an aerofoil cross section, can be stalled and can spin just like a solid wing and also has a glide ratio. Hope you get to try it.
Sandy
Outstanding achievement Sandy, Wiltshire's very own "Biggles" :) Good wishes.......
Thanks Les. I feel this is something you should try. I am flying again on Tuesday so will meet you at Membury:)
Sandy you are a braver man than me! awesome flight.. it must feel amazing to be flying free like that. I do have a fear of heights but for some reason this looks so appealing..
