In this videos we show you how to remove the old suspension on our 4th gen 4runner. We replaced it with Bilstiens 5100 shocks with old man emu springs 886/895. We went with a more heavy duty spring just due to the amount of weight that will be put into this rig as we build it up. There is no more break dive and it honestly handles really well for having no weight to the 4runner. This 4runner suspension mod is a great way to change the performance and appearance of your ride! Thank you all for watching!!

I have an 06 4Gen Sport that I put the Bilstein's on. I bought it 2 years ago with 62,800 miles on it, going on 81,000 almost. My problem, the frame is bad and I'm having it replaced with a Southern Frame. That's the only downfall to buying in the NE.

    Awesome!
I was thinking of either the Bilstein 5100's all around for my 5th gen, or 6112 up front and 5100 rear, using stock springs. I won't be getting front or rear bumpers. Just ride height and replacing with better shocks.

We are doing the exact same lift, tires and wheels upgrade to our 2004 black sport edition 4x4 V8 4Runner. We bought it new in 2003; it has 177,000 miles on it. It’s had three timing belts, two water pumps and brakes. I just ordered Bilstien 5100 shocks and struts. We ordered 17 x 9 Fuel Sledge wheels and 265-70-17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I replaced the suspension three years ago with KYB struts and springs, and shocks. I’m only going with a one-inch lift in the front with the 1500 Bilstien. Anymore front lift, I would think I would have to drop the front differential. I don’t want that stress on the front axels because it is 4WD all the time. We love your channel!

You should've gone with 6100 at the front if you are going to put a lot of weight on the rig.

@@TRDJon that's what my friend installed in his 5th gen same set-up as yours but with the 6100s at the front. If you are putting heavy duty springs up front might as well put heavy duty shocks too.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the video. I'm struggling with my situation on my 4Runner. I've got a 2005 Toyota Sport w/ that X-REAS Suspension. I would like to replace that without the X-REAS. The Bilsteins you show in this video. Will the 5100 and OME Coils work for my model? I would do a full kit assembly. I just need some guidance as the NET is taking me all over the place. I'll be doing the replacement on my own as well since I don't have the money for Professional Labor. You also mentioned replacing the upper control arms. Do I have to do that when I purchase and install the Bilstein 5100's and EMO Coils.
I appreciate your time. Regards, - Edgar

Ours had the xreas. I show in the video how to take the suspension out and remove that system. Also you don’t need upper control arms, but it is highly recommended
