I would only like to add that even when we wanted to eat all the time , we couldn't. If the hunt was unsuccessful then its fasting time. I watched some videos about current tribes going without eating for like 6 days sometimes simply because they didn't catch anything so I think our bodies are well designed to survive well enough without food just as long as you carry some body fat.
Bottom line for me, after self-experimentation and observation: LESS IS MORE. Less food, less often. And you can immediately see why this idea would be hugely unpopular: millions of livelihoods depend on us eating more, more often. Thank you, Mike, for telling it like it is. Have been an advocate of intermittant fasting for three years now. Initially lost 60lb and felt great but the pandemic set in for two years and disrupted my sense of well being and I re-gained 30lb due to the stressors of being frontline critical care nurse. Now retired and struggling to regain that feeling and lose the 30 plus another 30 for my much awaited knee replacement. I am on day 3 of a 7 day fast to kick start my journey. First two days were a struggle with weakness but I knew if I got to day 3 I'd start to feel better. It's working! I hope to reduce all the inflammatory markers and reduce swelling and pain ...very serious arthritis in feet, ankles and knees. It helps to know the exact science of what is happening in my gut, which I think has been the major contributor to my physical dis-ease.
Adding in rebounding on my Bellicon lately. Really starting to enjoy exercise for the first time in my life. At 66 years young I feel hopeful that with Carnivore, IF and rebounding I can regain my health.

I'm trying to go 30 days water fasting right now. I believe it has saved my life. Have seen 18 doctors in the last year(ill skip the part where all of my problems started after one dose of pfizer, too long a story). Im 42 and was active, not overweight and ate fairly well.. Although the doctors have found numerous serious issues none can find the cause. I went from non functioning and incapacitated with back pain, liver and intestinal inflammation due to elevated enzymes, bacterial or viral infection, body was making antibodies to 5 different viruses none of which I was showing any symptoms, elevated heart rate,, high blood pressure, elevated troponin, and the list goes on. Im now 18 days into this fast(against the recommendation of my primary doctor) and every single marker I have has improved so significantly it borders on miraculous. I wish I understood what is going on but with no education in biology I will prob never know. But whatever is happening is nothing short of a miracle and im shocked (well not really) the medical industry isn't aware of this process and the benefits associated with it. Although maybe they do and that's why people don't know.

I recently finished a 48 hour dry fast where the only water contact i had was either showering or hand washing and let me tell you, in all my years of water and dry fasting, over 10 years, this particular hard dry fast provided more autophagy than the time i did a 7 day soft dry fast. definitely worth trying! the nose breathing for sure improved my life to the fullest happiness. one more note about dry fasting, be sure to have salt to avoid hyponatremia
13:20. What do you think of coffee with MCT oil in it? I've noticed, in my own use, that the MCT oil has hugely beneficial anti-inflammatory properties as well as improved mental focus. However, I'm not sure how it relates to autophagy.
I saw a video couple years ago of 2 doctors (husband and wife) where they tested a different drinks to spike insulin or not. Black coffee with mct oil did not change insulin levels at all, as much as I can remember.
Just started a serious plan a little over two months ago, down about 25 lbs already. One meal for two days in a row, and a day of fasting. Still in the miracle period where I'm still able to gain some muscle while still losing weight, even though I'm just doing simple exercises like pushups/squats/similar (was really unfit). And it's really nice that all my pants now need a belt, and that I've even shrunk out of being able to use an old belt. Still a few months away from being merely overweight looking at height/weight BMI charts. No idea when I should expect weight loss to start to slow down though.
I need to make changes and then this video pops up. It's more than I can absorb in one viewing. Its helping me understand my body's strengths and weaknesses.. and changes that I need to make . Thank you.

That is interesting about what you said earlier in the video about allergies and gut health because I was interested in vitamin A (because of your video speaking about how it also can influence allergies as several years ago I developed seasonal allergies and I really don't like it because my job still has me outside most of the day) so I went and found some vitamin A to supplement with my nutrition protocol that I already feel I get plenty as it is, although I still wanted to supplement increase that to help with the allergies, and when I had noticed that the gel capsule was a soy product, I immediately quit taking them because I was already noticing a small shift in my mood and I try to avoid estrogen as much as possible, and wanted off of the allergy pills as they were storing aluminum in my armpit as if I was using an antiperspirant, yet I did notice that when I went from having one cheat meal a week to one cheat meal a month, I haven't had the need to take my allergy medicine or any concern over being deficient in vitamin A just because of that, and since you brought that up, I kind of want to go down to maybe 6 cheat meals a year and see if that further decreases any symptoms of allergies even further

Really hard to trust without knowing how confident the scientific community is about all this information. Especially since you are selling a course and have financial incentives that might create some conflicts of interest.
After years of making bad dietary decisions due to following calories in/calories out I decimated my gut biome to the point that my body was robbing my hip cartilage to fix the damage in my colon. The surgeon who was on tap to replace my hip suggested for me to look into an anti-inflammatory diet. Having watched videos like this and Dr Pradip Jamnadas I am giving extended fasting (5-7 days) a go in hopes that the surplus of stem cells can help re-cushion my hip joint (it's bone on bone according to my last set of x-rays done in 2019). If my body can rob my hip cartilage to fix my colon, then in theory shouldn't it be able to put it back? I did the 5 day fast 3 months ago and noticed tingling sensations in the days following it, almost like a limb that fell asleep waking up...its was good sensation. There is still stiffness and mild pain, but it has improved. Looking to a 7 day fast in January...will update afterward. Any thoughts on whether or not this hypothesis is feasible?
I would love if you could do a video on treating sibo! I have leaky gut from it. About to do my 2nd treatment and naturopath wants me on 2 types of antibiotics. Herbals havent worked. 😞
My unfixed barely vaccinated 12 year old Rottweiler is so healthy and bouncy like a 2 year old. Yesterday I realized that twice a year when his sister went into heat he wouldn’t eat much for a month because of the stress of her heat. He did fasts 2 times a year so that must be why he is a super healthy old man.I’ve never had a Rottweiler make it past 10 before him.
I also had it, fasting helps but it does not cure! He should just quit gluten containing foods! And should the best solution, my nephew did it for 2 years and he's not sensitive to gluten anymore!
Great video Mike This helps to explain part of my question. There seems to be some new studies and debate around TRF (Intermittent fasting) vs calorie restriction protocols for weight loss and general health. I wanted to know if you can create a video on the pros and cons, nuances of each with regards to weight loss, overall metabolic health, level of autophagy and other parameters, etc Also, what would you think is best.
Where could I find some more information about the negative effects of consuming liquid fat? Does this apply to olive oil, hemp oil and coconut oil also?
Now tie this together with some personal practices: fast for 3 days once a month to ... (?increase tight junction protiens, clear out LPS, amp up growth hormone ...?), refeed with ... (?bone broth to regenerate microvillea mucus and junctions, probiotic foods to repopulate microbiome, beef/liver/carbs/exercise to signal mTOR and stem growth signals, ...?), ...???
@Whatsapp①⑧⓪②④③⑧③⑥⑥⓪ Breakfast starts with some ferment liquid (thanks to Mindy Pelz for this, which includes live probiotics, postbiotic signaling molecules, salt, bio-water??), coffee (perhaps with cinnamon or tumeric+pepper if I feel like it), bone broth (for 3-day and longer fasts), and a 2-egg omelette with curried onions and goat cheese along with lime-salted avocado bacon followed by at least 1.5 hours of no food (for easy jump-start of the ol' digestive tract). Next meal starts with appetizers of aged European cheeses with a variety of feremented vegs (usually sauerkraut, lacto-ferment onions) with some prebiotic raw radishes, washed down with diluted ACV+salts (Na, K, Mg). Whatever main course is followed by dessert of fruit+fermented cream+nuts (to get some probiotic Bifido's and their post-ferments). Sometimes 2, but ususally 3 meals that day, with the last (latest) including 6oz grass fed beef or lamb + healthy carbs (vegs and fruits, no grains) to hit all the rebuild signals. Often the day starts with my cold shower, then 15m HIIT (pullups, pushups, crunches, planks+, dips) to help trigger rebuilding too. I'm just reading Gundry's new book The Keto Code and see many of the health threads converging on the mitochondrial health tapestry. However, I think longer fasting and autophagy are primary and competing threads to be interwoven as well.
The liquid fat part has me stressed out lol . Can you explain a little more what you mean by that? Oils would be liquid fat, right? Or do you just mean a fatty drink, like the milkshake you mentioned?

Keep your tight junctions tight brother!
Thanks. Good information on benefits to digestion of fasting.
Very good talk. Something about what you said has helped me to understand a little bit more about the need for fasting. Thanks!
Great explanation about ATG (Autophagy) = "self eating" by fasting. Dr. Eric Berg DC, has thousands of videos about intermittent fasting and Autophagy on his youtube channel also. Same with Dr. Sten Ekberg.
thank you for your explanation on the physiology. i use your videos often with clients. 👍
VHFILM just did a great video on life extension in mice achieved just by eating during active stage of day and fasting the rest.
Another great video and very in tune with current information on the virus.
Good read ...
So much info it could take hours upon hours explaining in great detail on this topic and what is involved in intermittent fasting.
I’m on the edge of my seat throughout the whole video wanting more!
I’m on this roller coaster of fasting b too much cheating in between really negates what I’m trying and needing to achieve to obtain my fullest optimal health at the ripe ole age of fitty five!
There’s a Dr online saying that omad and fasting for a lifestyle (more than a short period) ruins womens thyroids or metabolisms. I kind of feel it gave me back my life though….
I wouldn't watch the other channel anymore! Fasting is awesome, I'm 67 and been doing it for years and never been healthier!
That Dr doesn't know what they're talking about
Thank you for covering this issue! I'm a senior concerned about losing leg strength. I do a walk/run one to two times daily. Also do squats on Vibrating plate and 30 lbs weight. How about covering exercising for seniors using home items. I don't want to go to a gym.
Love your vids... always so informative.
This information is simply invaluable. Well said Sir in laimens terms. Just to think if everyone had this info. Wow 👌
Motivation for me to make healthier lifestyle choices! Fuck yes Mike, can’t tell you enough how appreciative I am of you!
I just finished 10 day fast*.
Trying to rebuild hip cartilage and repair herniated disc.
1. Plenty of water
2. Herb tea was dinner daily
3. 2days of Vitamin C blasts w pineapple and lemon, oranges not available
4. 1day of apple carrots celery beets ginger juice bc of cramps
Now into 18:6 intermittent fast for 10days
Exercise is brutally painful and crippling so rest is paramount
Appreciate your insight.
ps psoriasis cleared up 100%, & no more headaches
✌️
Extremely insightful and valuable. Thank you for taking us to school 😀
Really hard to trust without knowing how confident the scientific community is about all this information. Especially since you are selling a course and have financial incentives that might create some conflicts of interest.
Great info.
Can you do one for improved ED and Cirhosis related to fasting
Ok on
@@Highintensityhealth Appreciate it , Mike!
Thank you for this great video!
This has inspired me to do a 48hr fast thanks mike.
I can't believe info like this is free haha, what a world we live in (thank you Mike hehe)!
Thanks! Yet some people still complain lol
I've become so good at purchasing food since I began fasting
Being in a calorie deficit already activates autophagy, it doesn't matter if you practice intermittent fasting or not
I would love if you could do a video on treating sibo! I have leaky gut from it. About to do my 2nd treatment and naturopath wants me on 2 types of antibiotics. Herbals havent worked. 😞
Great video im learning great habits and life style changes so many thanks
Thank you! Great breakdown of mtor and ampk
Thank you. Great information always
Hi Mike, I would more information on gut health, I am a long time suffer of ibs, sibo, sifo, or candida.
Been on OMAD for 1.5 years. I feel great EVERYDAY
What time of day do you eat out of interest?
How yo get all vitamins and nutrients on omad?. I worry about that.
Great information I really loved it! Can you give links or help me find the Information about the milkshakes please?
Excellent! Thank you! Sharing
Great talk!!!
Amazing information 🙏
What about olive oil, black seed oil, ore coconut oil? Is that ok?
And what if that’s not enough to bring healing to leaky gut? Then what action can we take?
Wow.. it's a bit over my head.
I believe after all is said...you are saying that we all need to fast.
Moral of the story to long life is:
Pets stay away from vets
Humans stay away from drs
Thank you...🙏
You have a fake w app troll...IV seen him with the same message in other posts...
That is great information!
There is a website which tells you your body type and which foods cause inflammation and which do not.
I started drinking heavy cream as a way to top off my fat intake. But based on what you said about liquid fat, would it be best if I stopped?
Do you have any videos regarding Neu5Gc in red meat and dairy? Thanks.
Thx Mike, awesome content as always 💥
Very interesting, thank you.
Would you expect fasting to help or maybe even heal Celiac disease issues? I have a friend who suffers and I want to help if possible. Thanks
Check out Dr. Stasha Gominak, she talks about fixing the gut with vitamin d and b. There are 2 interviews right here on this channel!
I also had it, fasting helps but it does not cure! He should just quit gluten containing foods! And should the best solution, my nephew did it for 2 years and he's not sensitive to gluten anymore!
Thank you for this 🙏
Link to master class?
Great video Mike This helps to explain part of my question. There seems to be some new studies and debate around TRF (Intermittent fasting) vs calorie restriction protocols for weight loss and general health. I wanted to know if you can create a video on the pros and cons, nuances of each with regards to weight loss, overall metabolic health, level of autophagy and other parameters, etc Also, what would you think is best.
Wow, super helpful visualization (“vomit and poop”)!!!
Where could I find some more information about the negative effects of consuming liquid fat? Does this apply to olive oil, hemp oil and coconut oil also?
Hi Dr HIH
I have noticed that a 40 hour fast seems to be helpful if I get digestive issues.
How can you get say 200 protein inside your belly if you eat only for a few hours a day?
Thanks HIH
I have been doing 42hr fasts off and on for a couple of years and drink my regular black coffee during them. Although mostly carnivore my gut is still bloated and complains. Also...my skin is still challenged. Does anyone have experience with their Gut Health getting better by stopping coffee?
I read that black coffee will break a gut healing protocol fast, but it won’t break a fat burning fast for weight loss.
