BTW, thank you for showing the latter part of The Untouchables episode, with commercials , preview of the next episode, closing theme and credits, and sponsors acknowledged. Appreciate reminders of how television used to be.
Leonard Freeman, who executive produced "THE UNTOUCHABLES" final season on ABC (1962-63) later went on to create "HAWAII FIVE-O" for CBS in 1968 the very same year that Freeman, Clint Eastwood and his newly formed Malpaso Productions company did "HANG EM' HIGH" that United Artists released.
I remember The Untouchables being on Saturday nights following The Lawrence Welk Show on ABC in the early 60's. I was very young and my parents wanted me to go to bed at that time, probably because of the violence involved with The Untouchables. As I got older, I would watch reruns of the show, and liked it immensely. Robert Stack's Elliot Ness was quite interesting. He was the guy you rooted for. He always came out on top in his fight against the Chicago mob
"The Untouchables" was broadcast on Thursday nights on ABC from 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM. It was followed by "Rescue 8" from 10:30 PM to 11:00 PM for two seasons. I believe there a a few "Rescue 8" episodes here on TH-cam.
Yes, it was shown on Thursday nights in most markets, but in those days, because some local stations were owned by independent broadcast companies, they didn't allow for all network programming to be shown at the same time as other local channels, hence, shows like The Untouchables were either blacked out or shown on a different night in some markets. In fact, some stations didn't show The Untouchables because they considered it too violent.
The final season of "THE UNTOUCHABLES" was extremely intresting, because the executive producer was Leonard Freeman, the creator and EP of the classic CBS series "HAWAII FIVE-0" in 1968.
Hawaii Five -O was just THE UNTOUCHABLES set in Hawaii . The similarities were obvious: The Tough , Incorruptible leader (Robert Stack, Jack Lord) Eliot Ness had Rico, McGarrett had Danno, both were leaders of special law enforcement units , etc...But, THE UNTOUCHABLES was more hard-core, grittier, more DYNAMIC !!!
From the September 25, 1962 episode {first of the season}. Participating sponsors included Beecham {Brylcreem}, American Home Products-Whitehall Laboratories {BiSoDol, Anacin}/Boyle-Midway {Griffin}, and Armour & Co. {Dash}.
Does anyone have the complete seasons of these untouchables. I had it but now they are all gone. Don’t know what happened . Or if anyone knows who has them

Jimmy Canada portrayed by Edward (Ed) Asner, eight years before his character of Lou Grant premiered on the Mary Tyler Moore show.
The cantankerous old man
Am I the only one laughing too hard at the Bryll Cream ad?
junk makes your hair look neat, but to the touch😒
No, lol!
I can't tell what I'm laughing at more; the ad or my wife getting sick about the fingers in the hair business
@@williamphillips6049 good thing they didn’t play the “ butch wax. “ commercial
I just told my wife I think I remember that commercial as a little boy!
Quinn Martin Left Desilu In 1960 Then He Had Formed QM Productions.
One of my favorite episodes was "Cooker in the Sky " . Things turned out great for the man and his wife when they sought the help of Eliot Ness !
I've always thought the animated man at the end of the commercial was modeled after Gene Rayburn, the long-time TV personality.
Thanks for uploading this.
"Hawaii Five O", and "The Untouchables" was violent? WOW LOLOLOLOL!
By the standards of that time, maybe.
@@gidzmobug2323 the Untouchables took place in Chicago during the dry years and Hawaii Five-0 modern Hawaii

I have the first three years collection excellent, but the fourth year lacked something.

JFK and FCC Commissioner Newton Minnow, supposedly took this show off the air (in 1963), because JFK's father was an ex-bootlegger.
No truth to it. The show had run its course and was considered very violent.

Most full episodes are on TH-cam.
So Donald Trump would not have found girlfriend at that time.

Where is Eliot Ness now. Murder and lawlessness seem everywhere.
