Bill Longley arrives in a small Texas town with the intension of helping Les Torbit, an old army buddy, in his range war with Kyle Richards' outfit. Longley soon learns that Torbit is held for accidentally shooting Richards' teen-aged daughter, but a potential lynch mob is getting liquored up to hang the prisoner if the girl dies.

Rory Calhoun terrific. The drama and sensational music mood terrific. More talent packed into this 25 minutes than all the movies of today.

Can't help but wonder if Neville Brand had to use Chloraseptic and rest his throat for a while after perfroming an episode of Laredo, considering what his real voice sounded like. Seems like his 'Reese" voice would have been kinda hard on the ol' voice box.
Yep Neville Brand was a Gr8 Actor
He played along side " The Duke " in Cahill . And Jon Wayne didn't just allow any one in his movies .
Pretty sure Brands was somehow related 2 X - BRANDS who played along side Jock Mahoney.
And Rory Calhoun was just fabulous. Pity he didn't make more westerns

Thanks man I had not seen this in over 60 years. As a 4 year old, used to pile the couch cushions atop one another so I could ride tall in the saddle like The Texan. Mother would warm my ass good.

I kind of remember the reruns when I was a young kid in the early sixties didn't know Sergeant Carter acted in westerns in the early years
Where was Frank Sutton in this?
That was Neville Brand playing 'Kyle Richards'.
Per IMDB, however, Sutton did appear in Western TV shows and films prior to _Gomer Pyle._

I just finished the series .... there are some interesting guest stars and familiar faces that show up .... a good show.
Watched all the westerns 60 odd years ago,wagon train,Cisco and pancho, range rider, have gun will travel, and many more with my father,GREAT TIME 🦨🇬🇧
The only one that you mentioned was wagon train l remember l don't think the others aired in England.
Calhoun was a third rate actor. He was absolutely crap.
