That starts with me traveling again. But first I need to do some van life errands before I head out on this epic travel journey in 2021. I also had a date....not what you think. It was so yummy and my first date shake at a date farm in Yuma, Arizona!

Hi, I'm Amber and in May 2017 I started full time RV living. I started this nomadic journey after selling my house and all my belongings to pursue this crazy dream of traveling full time in an RV and creating incredible memories.
After 1 year of traveling, I sold my 26 foot Winnebago Class C RV for a more nimble Class B van on a Promaster 2500 chassis. Now in my 4th year of RVing in my camper van, I'm still loving this RV lifestyle and being a digital nomad. I almost always boondock in nature and really enjoy that off grid living.

👍The other day I needed a hug. I went to the beach to have a picnic for 1, catch the sunset & moonrise...as soon as I sat down, different dogs started coming over to me and wouldn’t leave. 😂🙏😍 Even the owners who said their dog “never does that” were totally surprised.Animals can feel our energy. 💝

I'm a new viewer and I really am enjoying your story! I know it's hard many times but the freedom and learning makes it really worth it. I am 63 and want to learn everyday! My hubby and I are planning a tenting trip when he retires and I am learning about different areas and what we'll need. If you ever find yourself in Ruskin, FL look us up!! We got room girlfriend! for Lily too! We aren't camping newbies but have opted for a senior living community for now in a mobile home. We've owned a fifth wheel but honestly the most satisfying caamping was in a tent set up. We are humbled by the simple beauty around us.

Not sure if you know but paper towels help to keep greens fresh longer in bags...I've been doing it for over 5yrs now when I get them and when I get them from the farmer's market? Sometimes, most of the time, they will last me nearly 2 weeks!

Just another tip for your spinach- add a paper towel or a half of one to absorb the water and help preserve it longer. I also will freeze my spinach if it doesn’t get eaten fast enough. Happy travels, looking forward to watching your adventures.

Hi, Amber (@Story Chasing). Many thank for hosting a great TH-cam channel!! I am interested in purchasing a Berkey, but they are pricey and I'm not sure what size to get. I drink/cook with A LOT of water (~ 2-4L/day) and I'll be traveling with pets who also need clean water, especially in warmer temps. What size is your Berkey, how much water do you use each day (liters?) and how well does the Berkey size you have keep up with your water use? Also, I love the look of your insulated front cab window covers. Source for those? Thank you, thank you, in advance. :-)

I know you can’t take Lily with you everywhere, but it broke my heart that she had to stay behind in the van when you had mentioned about 5 minutes earlier that it was hot in the van and 78 degrees outside. You left her in her pajamas when you went into the store. You were gone about 5 minutes and that was 4 minutes and 59 seconds too long for me.
D Fuentez 😊 She was good. I took off the PJs, put the shades up, parked in the shade and rolled the windows down. She was definitely cool. Thank you for being concerned. So many people do leave their animals in hot cars and trust me - I'M NOT ONE OF THOSE. I've rescued animals before from hot cars. 😊

After leaving Quartzite last year we went through Dateland AZ, we too had to have a date shake....they were good, but wouldn’t be my first choice.
Your Lily dog reminds me of my Lily dog mine's a tiny bit bigger and tan and white. She does the nose thing with her food sometimes too but for her, she does it when she's stressed. I travel too not quite as much as you more of a snowbird thing but she does it when she knows we're going to move or when I'm stressed. She really picks up on my moods. Safe travels 🦋

Yummy! Next time I visit my place in AZ I will have to go to Yuma and visit the date farm! I had some awesome dates in Palm Springs and they tasted like candy. I didnt buy a box but the minute I left Palm Springs I regretted not buying them! So thanks for the idea. I am starting back on Keto on Monday so I am going on a carbaholic binge this weekend 🤣

Oh my gosh, My Lily also eats the Fresh Pet and I get so irritated because they are always out!! I buy a tub of shredded rotisseri chicken and add it to the Fresh pet to extend it. Nice to see you back in the saddle! :D happy travels.

My van is considered "vintage" by today's standards. Its a 1986 Ford hightop class-B RV. Its got all the bells and whistles. I'm also waiting to take delivery of a 1979 Dodge hightop Family Wagon. I don't like RV dwelling. I'm a van dweller. I don't need all the luxuries my Ford gives me. In the years I've owned it I have flipped on the 3-way RV refrigerator/freezer on exactly 6 times, which is a shame because it cost me $1200 dollars. Its brand new. I have never filled the water tank. I don't even know if the shower works because I have never tried to use it. I rarely used the two burner propane stove. I got rid of the oven. I have a twin bowl sink but I have never turned on the water pump to see if the faucet works. Its just a convenient place to store my coffee machine. In 6 years I think I have filled my propane tank only twice. Just give me a standard van with a bed, a Russian boy scout stove, a 12v cooler, 12v rice cooker, and a port-o-potty and I'm all good.
In my years of being on the road the one thing I got really good at is making mostly meatless village food from all over the world. Indian, Pakistani, Japanese, English (yeesh, but sometimes I just get a hankering for traditional fish-n-chips when I can find atlantic cod.) Northern Italian, etc etc... All that on my small now beat up Russian boy scout gasoline cooking stove, a couple MSR camping pots and a 6" cast iron pan.
I had to take a break from van dwelling to see my parents to the end of their lives. One has already passed, one more to pass. Not much longer. I can't wait to hit the road again. I dream about it.

I watch your channel to learn things about the technicalities of the lifestyle. I plan a similar adventure, but there will be no work involved. I appreciate that you take the time to show us the gear that you use, and how you manage it. You are much more of a foodie than me. I am taking up the Warren Buffet diet. I eat the foods I liked between the ages of 10 to 14. I liked them then, and I still like them now. That's what I will eat for the rest of my life. I won't need many of your gear items. I see what I will need, and what I don't need. I'm not very good at giving emotional support. You seem to need a lot of it. Here's some advice. I'm in sales. Yes, everybody hates salesmen. When I work, I realize that most people would rather not deal with me. For me to sell something, it usually takes hearing "no" 8 to 10 times before I hear a yes! It may take multiple years of hearing no before I hear a yes. So, I'm not really in sales, I'm truly in the rejection management business. I have to eat lots and lots of rejection before I sell something. If I fail to manage the rejection, I will starve. Stop focusing so much on rejection, look at it as food for growth. Let it pass through you.
Amber, my wife Prelia I have watched each and every one of your videos since your first video when your journey first started. What is up with your base station? A place to hang your hat and chill out? Many videos back you mentioned it and we have not heard anything.
