𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲
According to legend, Labro was founded in the place where the gentleman of the time managed to kill his first wild boar in a hunting trip so the town would take its name from this animal (aprum, accusative form of aper) and therefore the coat of arms of the municipality depicts a wild boar.
For others, the name derives from the Latin lavabrum (basin), which refers to the proximity to the lake of Piediluco.
𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆
It seems that the town originated between the 9th and 10th centuries: the first lord of Labro, Aldobrandino de Nobili, was invested by the King of Italy Otto I in the year 956.
According to the Renaissance humanist Mariano Vittori, the town was founded by a Greek colony.

Molto meglio che ci sia un Pub nei sotterranei dell'attuale palazzo della famiglia Nobili, invece di un eventuale prigione.
Pochi abitanti in questi borghi medievali, nonostante le case in pietra potessero essere utilizzate per millenni.

Gallipoli is special at dusk. I must admit my favorite place at dusk is Citta di Lecce. The pinkish stone exudes a special warmth.
The Griko section of Salento is my favorite.

Amazing tour in my beloved Sabina! In Labro there's also a beautiful hotel diffuso called Albergo Crispolti, which truly boosted and revamped tourism in this little, lovely village🥰 Thank you!!!
Grazie Vale, ah I love the Sabina a LOT; in fact one of my most favourite walk and town I've ever visited was Fara in Sabina,it was 2 years ago. Love this area. I remember seeing the Albergo Crispolti in Labro, great locations all around and of course that nice restaurant near the main gate was also very nice. I adored Labro, just adored it.
Very charming town and quiet. It sure helps in the intro the map showing exactly where the video is.

Ciao Clark, I really loved Labro, there was just something there that made me love it so much. Perhaps even the time of the year I don't know. Glad you liked it too; very charming as you said. Hih, yeah Zara was very cute; the owner also, we spoke a bit and he told me they mistreated her and left her (appalling...) and he was able to take her with him; she's still scared a bit of humans but she's improving he said. Quite sad story but with a good ending at least

What a find, Riccardo! Did you know this place even existed? Love the the little up and down cobblestone little lanes, it seemed to be like a maze. The plants people have outside their houses make it look so nice. Zara was the cutest and only dog by the looks of it 😅

Glad you enjoyed also Labro dear Esther; I absolutely loved this town, felt so in touch with it. It's not well known or visited unfortunately, though in the main Piazza a lot of people from there were gathering. The scenery is indeed stunning, the view toward lake Piediluco from some corners was magnificent.

Na verdade, eu moraria lá se pudesse. Que bom que você gostou também) Sim, o lago do Piediluco fica ao longe, mas não consegui alcançá-lo enquanto estava lá :/ Ainda não o visitei, mas pelo Google parece que é um lugar deslumbrante também. Quem sabe um dia...(pesquise na internet, e você verá! Dizem que é um lago muito antigo e chamado diferente pelos romanos...bem lindo) Desejo-lhe um bom fim de semana também🤗

Only 370 Residents for now but maybe a little more later on people may find homes for sale there and redo them and live or retire to. Always great 👍 Drone video and view to. If you do another video with the country field and mountain 🏔️ go down a little bit and over a little more to depending on the battery 🔋 and single strength. Also been noticing CC with the background CC to. But been better with the regular CC . 👍 🇮🇹 📸

Poor Zara Sharon, she was mistreated and even abandoned... luckily the new owner is an awesome guy and very funny as well. She's enjoying peace and love now in Labro luckily

Man, being a city planner in Italy is a dream job. Whoever invented the «copy/paste» function had to be italian.
This town bears some resemblance to Spello. Lovely (except for furniture delivery people, that is).

Truly loved Labro. So much so that I this is a place where I would actually comfortably live in. Perhaps the distance to a supermarket is quite far though, and didn't see many shops. I suspect many have their "second house" there as far as I could see. But stunning indeed, loved it
@@StillWanderer For me, it's Mantova. If it had some mountains, I swear I'd move there tomorrow. Padova and Bologna are close behind. Amazing towns.

@@StillWanderer Bologna didn't seem that big when we visited, but then again, we didn't spend a month there. One town that was big-ish, but had a smaller-town feel was Torino. Unlike Milano. I'd never live there, it was like Montreal with fancier buildings. Not for me.
I would like to visit Sabbioneta, Piacenza, Vicenza and the likes. Eventually. Next year's plan is to do Sicily. I had no idea it was that beautiful.

Would also love to visit the north a bit,but it's quite far and quite expensive to move (it's a hobby after all...) if with time the channel will grow perhaps I'll slowly wander there too. I hope
